  1. Maybe I misread, but how does glimpse the veil let you summon a ghost light? It's blinding light that does it
  2. In this situation I think concealment doesn't apply
  3. Sorry if it's already been answered, but I didn't find it. Reva's candles are insignificant, but at the same time they are considered corpse markers. If I use a mourner's ability "mourn the dead" I can score points from them or insignificant prevails? I realized while writing that this would work also with mindless zombies after all.
  4. I reanimate this thread to ask a question: since von schtook has a lot of counter picking (less than 2ed., but still) it's viable for tournaments or not?
  5. That means in Europe we'll see them in september if we are lucky
  6. Usually painted crews or special editions go for between 50% and 100% more than the sticker price
  7. Re: summoning. Even with the restrictions on schemes and strategies it can be devastating, since a good summoner can stil wreck havok on the enemy crew and use their other models for points. In my group we have an unwritter rule that if somebody wants to use a summoner they have to declare it first, so the other player can make plans.
  8. I really like it, and I'm curious for the rest of the keyword. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that it's going to be in the new resser starter box. Re: Oskar. Could he be their son?
  9. M3e is already simplified from M2e. Another simplification can take away what is unique here. And regarding the difference between beginners and experts, there is a game where there isn't one?
  10. I think I see the problem. I love the randomness factor, and as such liked a lot of what shifting loyalties offers and I thought that my players would love it too, since we are also playing a bloodbowl league, with experience, injuries etc. But it seems al least some of them want something different from malifaux, more like a "long tournement" than a narrative experience. Thanks, reading both @Adran and @Drunken Monkey helped me see things in a different perspective outside of my own.
  11. Since we are already here I had a couple of complaints. Basically asking for a starting warband of 50ss and removing the advancments. Basically to me it means deleting the "campaign" part of the game, what do you think?
  12. Yes, I tried adapting it to 3ed. I'm linking the topic here If you have specific questions I'll be happy to answer them
  13. mc mourning is also quite simple, but I concur that it's better to play something you like instead of choosing something only because nobody else has it
  14. I've played only with kirai 1 so far, so I'm basing my comment on that: 1) regardless of the game a couple of seishin are fundamental. 2) connected to the first point: since kirai can do only 1 summon a turn (with the exception of the totem) don't waste time summoning small. Summon goryo, drowned. shikome and gwisin. 3) datsue ba and jaakuma are quite situational, so hire them based on the game or the enemy crew if you happen to know it. (for example datsue ba works well against ulix thanks to lantern of souls, while jakuma is good against mobile crews.) 4) is a summoner, so you'll need at least 4/5 ss in reserve to get the crows you need.
  15. I'm italian, and importing things from the US is a nightmare here too. Basically customs can be anything between 0-x euros, depending on the moon, the mood of whoever handled your box, the tides etc. and you only find out when the package arrives
  16. I found useful for Youko to hire a samurai sometimes or even fuhatsu for keeping people at a distance. I like kunoichis, but usually use only one, as a mix scheme runner, meat shield for other models
  17. 2 things that I thought reading this topic: 1) Koji says to drop an enemy scheme, does that means that even if you shoot one of your model you'll still drop an enemy marker? 2) maybe making the scheme drop a trigger instead of making it authomatic can help?
  18. Hello everybody, I'm quite excited to see the new versatiles for the 10T since the minis look cool, but i'm perplexed by their ability. All of them has some kind of ability that makes the enemy drop scheme markers, but they don't interact much with them, at least in a useful way. Yes, Koji use them to protect the other sayuri, but the risk that I'm helping my opponent with some scheme it's too high for me. What am I missing?
  19. I'm sorry for disappearing, had some problem. We are almost at the end of this experiment, and I got many positive comments, so I think I'll try to make a long campaign, and see how it goes, thanks everybody for the comments and ideas.
  20. Hoffman vs Zoraida. 2-4 Wedge Strategy: guard the stash. Schemes: public demonstration, assasinate, hidden martyrs, breakthrough, spread them out A bloodbath, thanks to the hooded rider that dealt at least 5 damages each round, before being stopped by Joss on the last turn, who killed him and zoraida. hoffman did 1 point for the strategy and one point for assassinate. Zoraida managed 3 points from the strategy and 1 for hidden martyrs. Great surprise from the hoffman player who found out about the 5 free soulstones. Every other player in the campaign knew it, and since his first game was against me I'm sure I told him.
  21. I think there is also a difference between somebody who is a total newbie and someone who has already some familiarity with miniature games, since someone with more experience can do better even with more difficult crews.
  22. Herding cats is easier than getting informations on the matches. Last match of the second week. Marcus vs Colette 4-1 The only thing I know about the points is that Colette did 1 point for sabotage. Regarding the game itself Marcus scared Colette thanks to crockett in an elevated position and the jackalope with a rifle (bought the previous match). The Colette player had play on the defensive the entire time, since at a distance there were 2 rifles, getting closer there was the sabretooth.
  23. Terrifying is good, but not the kind of impenetrable defense you seem to make of it. At most it's annoying if the opponent has lots of models with that ability and the schemes are geared towards killing people. Ruthless is a good counter, and most hitters have at least 5 wp, so you only need a 6+ to pass, not really hard. Hard to kill on the other hand is evil.
  24. I think I missed the 5 points discounts, this changes a lot. Regarding the game size is lower amount of points between the 2 players +5
