  1. I'll just let the question of it burn in your thoughts for a bit until you decide
  2. Woot, are we are up to two Wyrdo's successfully broken when it comes to reading this section of the forum?
  3. Well if you don't want my puns I'll port that energy into staying on my diet of celery stalks.
  4. Granting the "no charge" condition? Or is there another tech I don't know about? Would be very interested to learn so I can apply in the future, thank you.
  5. Indeed, also means that 1 Wd model can clear both my Strike Markers (I think? is that the new question?). But yeah, I was definitely doing it wrong before I had this pointed out to me
  6. Justin, you should know if you click the "Show Vote Options" button you can resubmit your vote. My vote to blog is simply b/c I don't like signing into RPG drivethrough and bothering to download a zip, and unzipping. Blog just feels a higher potential for less clicks. Plus since I'm inclined read at different locations at different times incremental content would probably be a bonus in my particular situation.
  7. From the FAQ 29) Some models have an a that treats area around them as hazardous. How does this work? The area within the model’s aura is treated as a unique set of hazardous terrain (and therefore deals 1/2/4 damage). In the example (see FAQ download), Gamin A would make a flip for Jaakuna’s aura when it finishes its movement. Gamin B would make a flip for the lava and one for Jaakuna when it activates. Gamin C would also make two flips: one for entering the aura, and one for entering the lava. I have thought the same before. I couldn't find anything in the rulebook but the underlined part of the above was pointed out to me by a friend.
  8. not only blast immune but impossible to wound, i.e. can't even cheat to get those blasts . They just have to rely on their Ca 9 to beat the bear by enough to naturally flip a blast against the built in negative to damage flips.
  9. come on guys, you sniped all my pun ideas already
  10. I think you need to setup a Webinar to explain all these mysteries.
  11. I would argue the less models that are shared between Factions, the more room there is to create new models for each Faction without hitting bloat. But then again, cross Faction hiring is what makes people dive deeper than they intended
  12. She also makes you purchase 1 or 2 more out of Faction models for her summon trigger (the two "summon only" models I referenced in my posts that are out of Faction). Well played Wyrd.
  13. @WWHSD you are 100% right. But that doesn't stop me from having to consider each and every one and make a decision on whether or not to practice with/purchase it. For me it isn't an issue cause I'm invested enough and have been doing it long enough that I've already done this for everything up until this point, for someone more casual or new I know it causes issues. I know cause I've talked to them and they've said as much. Plus... I'm a competitionest. P.S. Mei actually only brings in 3 models, Sandeep does 6 (one of which is a merc too), they aren't really the issue Edit: Let me put it this way. I can put 145 different models on the table in the game as it currently is. My Faction has 76 different models total, slightly more than 1/2 of my total options. (if the math seems wrong based on my previous post it is because 2 of the "summon only" models are in Faction). Those are two vastly different numbers in terms of manageability for players. And when trying to consider the other options outside of their Faction I've seen some people get a bit overwhelmed.
  14. I also saw players drop around book 4, cited reason was there was just too much to keep up on. I can say in Arcanists there are currently 145 different models I can put on the table. This includes all versions of infiltration I have access to (26 models), all mercs I cannot hire in another fashion (41 models), all summon only models (4 models). That does feel a bit high, at least to me personally. Other than that I'm ok with the variety of the cards in the game, and the complexity of the abilities on said cards. But for a skirmish game there sure are a lot of things I have to own/know about in order to be a "Master" of my own Faction. A solution to me would be to remove the mercs being able to hire out of Faction cause that would cut my options down by ~1/3 and put me in a more comfortable place in terms of variety of what I have to own (after I get done raging about these other models I bought and had painted but can no longer be used. And rage I would, but I would get over it and believe the game would be in a better place afterwards) Edit: had a mistake in the infiltration count. correctly changed to 26
  15. Lots of casual players who move Masters and Factions often. Play to win, but generally list build for fun and variety. Pretty sure I'm the only one who stuck with a single Faction for every game for over a year, and I finally have enough painted models that I now refuse to repeat the same Master at an Event so you won't see me grinding out the same list over and over either. If someone DID start running the same power list over and over not sure what would happen. I'd keep playing them, others probably would... but maybe not all. We like to vary opponents already so you wouldn't see it more than once a month anyway.
  16. Thank you for the work done and conversations had (maybe even the trolling of my gullible little self... we'll see if those times are a look back and laugh thing or not :P)
  17. Hmmm.... I see 7 racers displayed, anyone know what the box says for 2-? players?
  18. Thing to keep in mind, while it is a lot of good data, it is also seems Meta specific. For example, not to pump my own spreadsheet up anymore, but in my spreadsheet I have a high overall win rate with Arcanists (71%). But if you limit the data to just non-MN events... not so much. So when talking about my skills as a player overall, the data probably comments more on my meta compared to others than it does on me personally
  19. Neato! I have been doing something similar, though I only keep track of 50SS ranked events and have not kept track of casual games so my sample size is smaller (only 31 games so far ). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rgoFUlUZXpNARRs0H4vmDEUidCOhxrZQGEdOy03lA3Q/edit?usp=sharing In short, yes, I do find this stuff as interesting as you do. I also find trying to figure out how much I can program spreadsheets to do for me interesting as well (cause I have it set to view only you can't see that there are drop downs for Columns C-G to populate all the info of a game as well as turning 2016, 2017 and 2018 on and off if I just want to look at a specific year. Changing any of these or adding more info auto populates info on the right)
  20. Where am I now? Has the madness of the Burning Man spread to me so that I don't even know anymore? AAHHhhhh! *runs from the room screaming something about "get out of my head!"*
  21. Half way between "still strong but less active" and "dying". Activity at the other game stores in the state have died, but it has remained the same in the one game store I play at. But only having one active store makes event attendance low to the point of it not always being worth it, and when it does happen 75% of the people there are ones you play with regularly anyway.
  22. *shrug, she has armor.
  23. FYI the Ox Mage (0) to get a SS on damaging says "enemy" if that is what you are referring to, no stabbing yourself shenanigans.
