  1. So, stealing a resser thread that exploded. What is our ranking on effectiveness of our masters? in GG2017 I think its been shaping into this. 1. Hamelin: just amazing right now honestly can prob do it all. 2. Jack daw: covers the bases of slightly more killy pools although he lost a lot of glory from 2016 3. Viks: kill kill kill 4. Tara: new henchman Nothing beast being fast bombing into your opponent with the scion, being a stone user, and reduction from dead of winter mae her crew go from lackluster to "GAME OVER MAN GAME OVER" real quick. 5. Levi: levi is okay kind of the jack of all trades he isn't ever really bad per say just not as suited anymore at a lot of pools where other masters do better. 6. Von Schill: going to be a real need to counter pick someone here and know they wont be bringing armor ignoring tech to field him with reasonable success. 7. Parker: Better then Miskai? 8. Misaki: Way better in TT then outcasts her upgrades and eratta changes are really cool and help a ton but not having the terrocotta to guarantee you have access to the right upgrade for the job is a real nonstarter for taking her in outcasts. What did everybody think of my ratings? This is purely based off win% ignoring preference to personal objections. Where do you disagree with me don't go easy on me either I love a good argument. Please feel free to rank your own with reasoning I'd love to see it.
  2. I found it actually to be quite the opposite. I use the deso engine and Ashes and dust which both can execute corpse candles and zombies easily and not let them drop markers on crows for Abombs. Also luring reva into death zone with flutes can get you a kill while you activation control corals the crew.
  3. well the upgrade change out is effective 16 inches and the reapply is 11. There are a lot of other possible targets for the condition as well (rogue necro has been my favorite lately). But for mech rider it gives you even more immunity sure you don't need it however its a safety net basically joker insurance. I also don't think you all realize how far 12 inches is in this game if you think your getting past mech rider ashes and levi to kill the warrior. Play it and see but I think this combo is ridiculous and after a couple games you'll see them being standard in levi lists. (btw I think Lucius guild may be dragging two of these suckers around for the thralls.)
  4. 50 SS Outcasts Crew Leveticus + 4 Pool - Pariah of Iron (1) - Desolate Soul (2) - Scout The Field (1) Hollow Waif (0) Hollow Waif (0) Ashes and Dust (13) Mechanical Rider (12) - Oath Keeper (1) Terracotta Warrior (5) Abomination (4) Abomination (4) Brutal Effigy (4) so I hope for those of you that realize what terrocota warriors do realize how good this is....... the warrior can put the condition on mech rider so she becomes basically invulnerable and then turns pariah into oathkeeper and then scout as well.
  5. So I'll rank them as follows: (of course this is speculative to my meta and my opinion) 1. Lust- card control is vital with jack as it empowers the curses as well as general card manipulation is very strong. Manipulative is huge again card control from spending cards to attack is beneficial. Combined with movement control and a high wk of 6 makes her the star of the band. Best choice almost auto take. 2/3. Greed- the ability to again be manipulative and high wk to keep up and be in a good position is essential. You mentioned the bleeding stones is alright but i think its the fact that the ability is polarizing in who can and cannot be affected is key. Knowing that non master/ henchman models have to take the dmg is huge as well as the 4 dmg ability on top of that leads to some punishing reliable dmg. The biggest thing here though is the ability and he manipulative for board control. Okay take reasonable for a lot of situations. 3/2. Pride- basically the same role as greed here except not as polarized due to the difference in cards vs soulstone usage. The only real difference is the zero in which pride is slightly better but needs an 8 so a little card intensive. Okay take reasonable for a lot of situations. 4. Wrath- terrifying basically the same thing as manipulative but if you were to take 3 of he four I've listed so far its better to mi in the terrifying over another manipulative choice to not restrict your activation ordering. The dmg is fine but he is kinda squishy kinda like a more mid range montressor pick but overall more reliable. def an okay pick but not the cream of the crop. Variable choice planning or specificity needed to justify. 5. Envy- is okay with shooting power and his kit out with the zero is okay but honestly lacking as you are not really shooting with jack and with I pay better accessible not the best way to access focus for your army. Mediocre choice unless specific reason. 6. Sloth- hard to wound is alright but the toolkit associated with sloth is pretty lacking. Trading 3 wounds for slow is mediocre as usually taking wounds to trade activation's in daw is unneeded as there are better ways to efficiently heal such as the nurse. The dmg along with the attack not giving enough to the table is kind of bland much better tanky front-liners out there. poor choice 7. Gluttony- just not a fan as he only becomes useful for scheme marker manipulation and deletion. However due to his incredibly short range hard to implement and hard to get a lot of mileage with his main attack also only being ca 5 and okay dmg just makes him a lackluster 8 point model for jack to choose from. Low value bad model. When I take any of the 7 I usually take lust + greed or pride dependent on enemy faction sometimes adding in wrath. The rest or usually out of mind.
  6. the issue was that the 2 action is CHOOSE a model so is that model still involved with the duel as if it said target because the action is a simple duel
  7. So if a voidling is either fast himself or is targeting a model that is buried with fast for the satiating void action would he get ++ for time is meaningless? the issue is the wording Time is Meaningless: This model gains ++ on all duels with models with the Fast Condition. (2) Satiating Void (Ca 4 / TN: 12): Choose a buried model. Remove all Conditions on the chosen buried model and heal it 2/3/5 damage.
  8. It is a more situational upgrade then most but one of my favorite people to take it on like the strong arm is jack daw since incorporeal allows for the same type of thing where your opponent think they are age behind a buildin but really not. Honestly if terrain is very thick then it has it's uses if not oath keeper prob better.
  9. I personally have been having a good time in extraction with hamelin due to amount of prescence you can give in the middle scrum with rats popping up everywhere. For guard the stash I've been leaning tara as most games have half the crew split each way and occupy one maker the. Shift into take the other last second. The bury mechanic gives an easier way to keep the markers clean and a great way to deny positioning. Along with heavy scheme marker control from aionus she's my go to master for heavy scheme marker games as well as take prisoner due to her basic reactivate. levi has actually been kinda benches by the viks for me as headhunter and Killy missions are where he shines but I've struggled to get heads as follow ups to his carnage as he usually buries or is to far away te viks give melee presence however that sticks around. javk I think is the biggest winner in this faction though due to his ability to adjust on the fly and deny points. He's so good at just controlling your opponent through movement and action control with curses it's hard to justify not takin him a lot o games. My standard jack crew of a nurse three abombs ashes and dust Johanna and a trapper/Liberian dependent on the table is so goo at denial game you win a lot of games 7-4 type of range. not a fan of Von shill or misaki honestly and public demonstration is bad for outcasts in general. However inspection a occupy are totally doable with jack or tara
  10. Jack is good at covering a range of play being able to go aggro or area control based however tara is prob the farthest from his playstyle as she's much more control based on model value and condition application for slow and bury
  11. Iv'e had a lot of success with he following: Tara: knowledge of eternity, survivalist, scramble, Aionus, Nothing beast, Malifaux child, Freikorp librarian, 3x void wretches Leaves 2ss for a cache of 6. The idea is that its a super control based gameplay. I usually take this in any heavy scheme marker manipulation games. Aionus is a pretty good beater with slow being handed out by the wretches and tara. The biggest trick is the ability to be super aggressive with tara, aionus and the nothing beast since the child can use pull the void on one of them you fail the bury check then heal yourself up with wretches. With survivalist giving you + flips to healing meaning tara heals very quickly. Overall it all plays as trying to make your opponent at least trade card for card with you since the crew becomes better the lower the control hands get.
