  1. I'm going to be staring at that timer all morning... xD
  2. 4x6 feels pretty standard to me (but my first wargame was 40k way back when, so). The only thing I don't much like about the larger size is having to reach across a large board, I've come to appreciate the smaller 3x3 of Malifaux. But since it looks like most of the bases on the board are going to be 80-120mm, it makes sense that a larger size would be used.
  3. Oh, one other thing I noticed is on the Infiltrator's card. It says: "Squad (3x 80mm Fireteams)". I assume that means you pay for 3 models who share an 80mm base, or you're buying 3 of the 80mm bases?
  4. New info from the new video! We don't get to see the Glory side, but we know a bit more about what The Broken do now (apparently, cycling your deck). Also, a Cult Stratagem has been revealed!
  5. This looks fantastic! So, appx. 45 models in an army but with most of those being on movement trays that's only about 15 things you have to move around. I'm loving the movement tray idea so far I'm assuming from the Kings Empire / Abyssinia shared model in the video that models are going to be split Earth and Malifaux-side? I'm very curious if that's the case what sort of things the Hordes and Cult feel like sharing with each other.
  6. Soulstones I'm assuming? I'm sure there were some underwater in Malifaux
  7. Nightmare Coryphee are a special edition model so they might be a bit tricky to get. The Frozen Heart model Colette likes would be December Acolytes, they're a nice shooting model with built in enemy discard and Slow effects. Very efficient for their points! Most masters use the Gamin for different reasons, Mei Feng and Kaeris like Fire and Raspy like Ice for example. Sandeep likes them all.
  8. Welcome, I hope you enjoy the faction! I definitely agree on the Mecha-Porkchop, Sparks, and Emissary, they really help Mei Feng's game a lot. I like taking Large Arachnids with her too, they're the less damaging but very tanky big brothers to the Rail Workers and they all work nicely together. As far as Colette goes, her box already comes with most of what you need for the Scheme side of things (though Large Arachnids are nice here too, they can eat spare Scheme Markers for 's) so bringing some beaters is usually a good plan. I'd say find a long ranged model you like the look of for Colette to Prompt (I like Envy personally, but he does come in an expensive box so maybe not the first buy you should make), and as Bengt says the Ramos crew is very nice for her too.
  9. 100% agree there. I don't take Frontline Leadership so I see Adrenaline as the thing that heals her for 1 at the end of each turn, and the thing she needs to spend for Rush 'Em. One thing I like to do is have her charge into something my opponent throws forward, get an Adrenaline or two off triggers, then using Rush 'Em to engage at least 2 models in the mid-backline. Then the rest of your army can handle the frontline while she messes up their positioning for the rest of the game. As far as Mouse goes, yeah he's pretty bad. Tried using him a couple times but the heals are unreliable, I dislike bringing Peons to begin with (unless they do stupidly amazing things like the Brass Arachnid), and the short range on the rope means he's rarely doing it more than once a turn to even move your friendly models. @Poreo, I rather disagree about the Captain but I suppose that comes down to playstyle. I've played someone who used Oxfordian pushes on Ironsides before and it did get good distance, but I saw it as my opponent tenderizing her for me
  10. I really adore Ironsides. I've been trying to do the whole "play 10 games with each master to get a feel for them" thing and so far this year Ironsides actually has the best win rate for me (WLD 7/2/1). What I bring has wildly swung through the year but I haven't done much of a HPM build with her (when we get Amina I'm sure that will change), usually using her as a durable distraction and abusing her You Lookin' At Me to both move my models around and get my opponent out of position. Usually I'll bring either Arcane Reservoir or Seize the Day, and 100% always Challenge the Crowd and Warding Runes. Models I especially like with her are: The Captain (with Patron's Blessing) for the late game hammertime and early-mid game pushes; Cassandra for her usual shenanigans and Practiced Productions if it's relevant; Howard Langston if I want someone to deal with the enemy beaters personally; Lust for Now, Kiss! messing with my opponent's placement (moving a heavy hitter away from Ironsides and moving squishies into her melee mostly) and Proper Positions for another friendly push; Oxfordian Mages for some ranged beating and of course the Warding Rune buffs (if I have to pick one it's Nemesis for the built in , if just two Blood and Nemesis for condition immunity especially if the pool has Marked or Exhaust); Arcane Effigy for condition removal and the extra Burning/discard threat; and Willie to trigger HPM on the Mages and be another ranged threat (and threat if he can get close to my opponent in the mid game). I haven't tried Gunsmiths with her much, just because like others mentioned above it's hard to find the space to bring Message to the Union and I never find myself lacking an AP which could have been a thrown bottle. Triple positive shooting does sound awful nice though!
  11. One question about the cards for the models, are they finalized? I was looking through what Glory gave to each of the 5 Cult models we've seen and I noticed it's really not apparent at first what's new. Is it possible that the modified stats / triggers / abilities could be colour coded or given a symbol or something to indicate that they're Glory-only?
  12. +1 to that, even if it's just two models facing each other on a blank board having an idea of what the gameplay looks like would be super nice!
  13. Hey all, so I figured it'd be handy for people to have the information we know from the cards so far on here to have an idea on what sort of playstyle we'll be looking at. We're slowly getting to see more of the cards, and I'll update this regularly as new information is provided to us! I also have a written version below detailing what each model has on their card, plus what changes when they go to Glory. I hope you find this helpful and interesting! Also, should go without saying but, since this is all beta stuff it is *SUBJECT TO CHANGE* and nothing seen here is guaranteed to be in 1.0. We've already seen some changes (how we go Glory, Stalking Portal price, etc.) and we're almost definitely going to see more tweaks before now and then. ***So, I'm keeping the thread up but now that Wyrd has the cards updating as changes happen on the Cult's main page (right here), I'm going to stop updating everything as often as that would require constantly comparing and contrasting the cards. For the most up to date cards available, you should be checking the main website. I hope you found that portion helpful to you!*** ***Also, discarding either Joker lets you pass out 2 Shaken Tokens, for a total of 8 potential Shaken Tokens to provide per deck cycle*** General Assets Stratagems Commanders Commander Assets Titan Titan Assets Champions Syndicate Champion Squads Adjunct All models - written So, what does this all mean? Who knows! There's still a bunch of stuff that's not visible, but it's interesting to see that going Glory gives different stat boosts (offensively and defensively) to different models rather than a straight boost across the board. The fact that some models just gain triggers while some gain totally new abilities tells me you're going to want some models to get Glory before others, probably. Especially Adeodatos, that guy seems to get a ton from Glory! All good stuff to know, and only makes me want more info. Just one more week!
  14. We already have the Jealous Fire Lord (Banasuva) in Malifaux with Sandeep, seeing more awesome creatures from that stretch of the world would be cool!
  15. You might also like to read the early stories of Ramos and Hoffman's relationship, I felt like hidden away in Ramos' desire for another strong mecha-mage beneath him he also actually cared about him a bit.
  16. I was thinking with Carlos in the enemy's face it'd be pretty easy to get him killed, where Firestarter can stay way back and still participate. But otherwise yeah points-wise it makes more sense for Carlos to lead.
  17. Hey, so I was wondering if anyone's looked at any of our three new Henchman in the Hardcore format? I'm thinking bringing Amina with some durable models like Rail Workers or Large Arachnids might be a pain for the opponent to deal with, or Carlos under Firestarter as a Burning loving beater (super up in the air on it, might try Firestarter, Carlos+Protection, Union Miner, Fire Gamin or something). Has anyone else thought of some fun lists to try?
  18. Maybe the Ar score (I assume Armor?) is their version of Wounds? Though, that means some Commanders would have less health than some infantry, so maybe not...
  19. I would definitely not say no to some kickass Loyalist Canucks! I almost want them to be one of the villainous factions - give them a moment to say we're done saying sorry
  20. I swear I only have more questions now, haha. Will Glory only last the one turn? What does the TA number on the bottom left of the cards mean? Are Assets basically Upgrades? Scrip seems pretty obviously equivalent to points costs, with between 4 and 25 (looking at Cult) per model how big will the "standard" game size be? There's 30, 40, and 50mm models being described as "plug" bases (I assume meaning they go on movement bases), will you be able to mix and match fully what models goes in each of your Fireteams? Will the Kickstarter have a little demo showing how the game's played? Gah, so much I want to know! Needless to say, I'm planning on dropping a lot of money on Wyrd's head next week.
  21. I think the Cult is beating Abyssinia for me now, between the small glimpse of the rules we saw and the amazingly detailed models these guys seem great! I can't wait to hop all over the place with the portals mechanic Does anyone have an idea how the rule "The Burning Man Watches From Above" would work? I'm assuming it's any time an Ace goes to the discard pile (flipped, cheated, discarded) then you get a Shaken Token? That seems like you should reliably get a Glory a turn, right? I assume Glory only lasts one turn then?
  22. I'm still waiting on mine, but I ordered pretty late (13698) so I'm not really surprised there. It'll come when it comes
  23. I'm still really up in the air between Abyssinia and the Cult, though I really like a lot of models from all four factions. Darn you Wyrd and your excellent sculpts! xD
  24. I want to like that video several times. Lots of exciting info there, the Cult's Portal mechanic sounds really fun!
