  1. I would have thought Miss Step would fit better as a Widow Weaver than as Killjoy.
  2. Sure, that's why you got to work at not missing. It is also the only reason why you should ever crowd Pandora (IMO). To stop her from pushing in a direction you don't want her to go. Aside from that she is best dealt with by individual models with high stats or by ignoring her/slowing her and killing her crew. Take out her support models and she is less scary. And have a much harder time winning the game too. It's also worth noting that Pandora is one of those masters where it doesn't pay to just throw a spare attack at her. If you don't think you got a good chance of hitting and doing damage (or debuffing or whatever) then it's probably better not to attack at all. Focusing can be a good idea. If you can force a couple of big hit on her she isn't really that resilient.
  3. Basically Pandora only have two opposed Wp duels. Incite, that you can at most do twice if you get the trigger, and using her Wp for defence. None of her other attacks or abilities are opposed Wp duels (for Pandora) so she doesn't get to push on them. She isn't slow, but she certainly isn't as fast as she used to be.
  4. That is quite impressive. However did the last 20+ markers do anything for him? You can put out tons of markers if you want to, question really is do you want to? Past a certain point it just becomes wasted actions, IMO. I find that the bigger advantage is being able to easily get the markers you need, rather than all the markers in the world. Even with Colette 3 markers where you need them is much better than 10 markers all over. I have had games where I've gone over 10 markers, but its rare, and its usually because I'm doing so well that I don't have anything else to do.
  5. I'm going to go in the other direction and say not as many as you would think. You still need to observe the limits of interacting to put down scheme markers, you can also use them to power abilities and you might just have better things to do. If you have 10 that should easily be enough. Most games I seem to have around half a dozen on the table at any given time.
  6. We should be able to go to this one.
  7. I'd like to see an Arcanist/Outcast Dream master. Where as the Dreamer brings forth creatures from his dreams the Dream master goes into other peoples dreams. A debuffer/buffer type master. He might make you cover in fear, get you lost in a labyrinth inside your mind or feel invincible or think that you can fly (or make you able to fly!). He would bring a Raven totem (multiple perhaps? Seem like a theme with the bird totems), and lucid dreamers and desperate men desperate for their dreams to come true.
  8. The thing that annoys me about that is that I would like to give my money to Wyrd/someone stocking Wyrd, but I can't actually do that. Instead it will go to a third party reselling the model. As for the regular Johan, the old metal model isn't great (and I vastly prefer plastics anyway) and the new art for him sadly isn't at all appealing to me. The Johana art is by far the best version of him I've seen. So although I want him, if the model is like the art I won't be buying it. So it's a little annoying that there is an alternative that I do like, but that I probably won't be able to get it. Now I do expect it to reappear as a promotional model at some point so I might eventually get it, but we shall see.
  9. Vanessa brings an interesting construct ability into play for the Viks, it's effectively a sort of construct obey. So you could play a construct focused Viks crew to benefit from that. And double so if you bring Lazarus as well as he will benefit from other constructs.
  10. I think it's likely we will see a wave 2 book as a Gencon release. And looking further ahead we know the avatars will arrive at some point, so that's a possible book right there too.
  11. The problem with fast, incorporeal, significant model is that the Insidious Madness does that better is is usually able to keep itself alive more due to not being ht3, not being quite as big a target, having a ranged attack and not competing with Primodial Magic. But as you said, if you can set it up the Poltergeist is an absolute beast to deal with. I've had one kill Marcus on his own because of the .
  12. Tots/Young/Mature fits really well thematically I think, and he might actually be able to run quite a decent grow list. Not tried that yet, but I've been toying with the idea. As you said the brilliance crew is very good for him, but else it will be scheme dependent. I do think he is quite flexible as long as you give him enough minions. The tricky thing to me is picking the Guardsman models. Possibly because I've never been a Guild player.
  13. I'm waiting for the plastics to come out before I really use him but have tried him out a bit. I really like the theme of running a couple of 'normal' guardsmen and then having some monsters in the wing. You obviously need some good minions, but I don't think you need to go all minion, so I wouldn't neglect a few good enforcers/henchmen. But he is good fun and I've barely scratched the surface of playing him.
  14. Colette is also quite happy to bring constructs, not because they are constructs per say but because she just want good models. Collodi brings tons, but they are pretty much just his own. Lucius is very happy to bring constructs, as long as they are minions. In fact most masters are quite happy to bring constructs as a lot of the constructs are quite good in their own right. And don't just look for masters who does things with 'constructs', but look at the models you want to bring and see what the master can do for them.
  15. Regarding your first question, there isn't really an answer to that. Its better to do whatever you want really. If you want the full (or just more of) the faction then go for it. If you would rather just play the various construct based masters (and there are, IMO, more than those 3 who do well with construct based crews) then that is equally valid.
  16. The Poltergeist is amazing. Sadly your opponent will also quickly learn that and it's not that easy to keep it alive. If you can keep it alive its a huge boon to Pandora and anyone else targeting Wp, including itself. If you get it into your opponents crew and catch multiple models in its aura it can really mess up his turn. However its 5ss, HT 3, without that many wounds and with short ranged abilities. There is some profit to be gained by pretty much forcing your opponent to deal with it but I usually don't bring it. That being said I'd definitely try it out.
  17. Rasputina is the leader of cult. All the human members of her crew belong to the Cult of December so if you want religious fanatics they are there.
  18. Better report in before I forget. I'll be bringing Colette, Pandora and Jakob (Neverborn). Not played Jakob yet but what the hell. Liz will be bringing Viks, Ramos and Rasputina. Oh, and its Larsen with an e. Larson is the Swedish version.
  19. Bah, that will teach me to answer without going back to look at the actual rules
  20. It comes from the different Alps so its different sources of damage. Its exactly the same as Misery from Sorrows and Pandora.
  21. Ohh, that seems mean. I must admit I have not looked at the BSB at all so far, so something like this hadn't crossed my mind. Don't know how much healing it gives, would something like this be possibly to do with Hannah? Was just thinking that she is on a large base, so could possibly catch a larger number of models in range of Black Blood, and if you got a sorrow around she can copy Misery Loves Company so you can put her right where you need her. And of course, her melee damage can feature blasts for more irresistible damage output. It does require a fair few models to work though, but all of those models are good on their own too. Another version might be Silurids who with leap can get somewhere good very fast, engage something, hopefully bite it a bit, then splash black blood all over them and then when killed bring out either Bad Juju or maybe even Killjoy if you wanted to continue the black blood theme.
  22. I imagine that Colette will at least be a consideration for most matchups, she is very good at supporting any models you might want. One somewhat surprising, but very effective combo I tried at Smogcon was Colette and Hoffman. Colette could bring along Howard (and mech rider and duet if enough points), Hoffman could bring a Peacekeeper and buff them and both of them can give out extra ap to any construct. That proved really brutal.
  23. I think the choice of master often comes down to playatyle choice rather than strategy. So the reason you are playing Lynch is because you want to do what he does, rather than because he is the best at x. With the number of masters per faction it's just difficult to have each master be best at something and it's probably more fun to just have them be good in general.
