  1. Dom, y u no have a Group on this forum, for everyone in Firestorm? I'd set one up, but I'm deferring to your high status as henchman. Same goes for the Privateer Press forums!

  2. I seem to have not saved your number on my stupid futuristic phone! I will definitely be in Firestorm on Saturday, 10-3, so tell anyone you know, and any burglars who may be reading this. I'll have my warmachine with me, in practice for Steamroller on Sunday, but I'll also bring my hastily-glued Malifaux so you can teach me how to play!

  3. Hello Dave? Okay is Dave there? etc. Hi Dave, Matt here from Firestorm (Searforge Thursday night lurker).

  4. Hello Dom, this is Matt from Firestorm. I recognised you by your avatar... um... Avatar!

  5. Hi Callum, I'm Matt from Firestorm! Looking forward to getting my robotic arse kicked by your dolls.

  6. Pastel palette is beautiful, and very Art Noveau. I think the current date in-game is 1903, but I could well be wrong.
  7. Where are you based? I might be tempted by your Beastmen and Aleph.
  8. My idea of what to do with this model is so hot I'm not going to share it.
  9. Nice work, I like the cream, and those hounds look fantastic. They are great models and deserve a bright paintjob. Do you think the 'something missing' is 'highlighting'? Maybe you've done some, and it just doesn't come up in photographs. I know my photos of my own models eliminate all highlights.
  10. You're welcome. I like to keep people up to date. ;D BTW Rancor, are you the Rancor on the PP forums?
  11. I have to say, I'm delaying my purchase of the Warden for a while, until I hear about a replacement card or not.
  12. Hmm, I was avoiding her because she's too good, now I'm avoiding her because she isn't very good at all! Oh okay. I'll look.
  13. I love the table on McMourning's base! I think that both the table and McMourning should be pushed together to the centre of the base: having them overhanging the edges, when there's all that space in the middle, looks odd. It may just be the photo.
  14. I have shunned the Pale Rider because of the studio scheme, though I thought I was shunning it because of the model. Glad to see it can appeal to me! I may have to get one.
  15. I am alarmed to see that I have not gone down the suggested path! I picked up an eBay deal on the Hoffman Box + Peacekeeper. I bought three Witchling Stalkers because they're living and anti-magic. I'm planning on getting another Watcher to bring this up to 35 points, and Sonnia to replace Hoffman for playing against magical crews. After that, I'm planning on the Lucius Box, to get me some ranged potential. After that, maybe the Lady Justice Box, but I feel I have the melee game sewn up already. I hope I haven't made a dreadful mistake in ignoring the Ortegas on the basis of cheese.
  16. 'Pale Rider'. Is 'Pale' an adjective applied to the rider? Or is 'Pale' a noun applied to the mount?
  17. I think the handshake thing was a pretty easy misunderstanding. I've never been to a tournament, and if my opponent shook my hand during a game, without saying anything, I would not be able to guess what they meant. I'd be confused, and probably think they were trying to compliment me in an ironically solemn manner! If the game is still in progress, shaking hands could mean claiming victory, or it could mean conceding the game. If you opponent doesn't accompany the handshake with words to the effect of 'I've won' or 'I concede', you're none the wiser. Furthermore, if you continue to play, you're demonstrating that you think the game is continuing, so good grace would be to allow the game to continue!
  18. Aargh, misplaced possessive apostrophe, my eyes.
  19. Hmm, so, if I have Sonnia and Avatar Sonnia, I'll need my Flame Wall in two pieces. That's fine. And that's all I need in terms of things on the table, right? Two 50mm base Flame Wall counters?
  20. I agree those are problems. I was trying to add to the discussion about balance. Maybe things like fun and variety have to take a back seat if balance is the goal.* *Can you please read this in a non-snarky voice? I can't seem to get the tone right!
  21. Is there an argument that tournament play with preconstructed lists encourages balance? Players have to bring 'all-comers' lists, because they can't know what they'll be up against. In theory, every list would have a balance of melee, ranged, offensive, defensive, buff, de-buff. In practice I have no idea: no experience of tournaments.
  22. If it were the other way round, I suppose the wording would be: "Friendly models within 4" of this model ignore cover modifiers when targeting a model." as opposed to "Friendly models ignore cover modifiers when targeting a model within 4" of this model."
  23. This is just what I needed! Nerdy is good. I kept seeing references to 'Burning Tokens', and was picturing a kind of template. All I need to make are two 50mm Flame Wall tokens. Now... are these ALWAYS deployed adjacent to each other, i.e. I can actually sculpt a wall of flame that covers two bases?
  24. Okay, one more thing... All flame/burning tokens are 50mm, right? Also, do they have to be flat, so models can overlap them? Or can I make them 5" tall?
  25. Yeah, ranged is an issue: a single harpoon probably won't cut it, right? I see this list as a mobile melee force, sending the Watchers to the objectives and using the Master-Guardian-Peacekeeper ball as a magnet for the opposing crew. I'll use this to learn the game, using Hoffman for objectives and Sonnia for attrition. Long-term, I want to develop more of a gunline, to counter any opponents who like melee. I'll definitely pick up an Austringer and a Warden when it's out. I want to get the Lucius box, to add Ryle (for Hoffman) and some Guardsmen (for Sonnia). Also, Lucius as a third Master, who I gather runs kind of a mobile gunline: perhaps the best of both worlds. ---------- Post added at 10:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:55 AM ---------- I haven't heard anything good about the Mechanical Attendant. If anything, I've been told to get the Mobile Toolkit instead. Enlighten me! ---------- Post added at 10:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 AM ---------- I would like to run the Pale Rider, it sounds great: out on its own section of board, ducking in and out of cover, popping that rifle: awesome! I just can't get over the horrific sculpt. And it's a weird zombie horse with horns. Doesn't fit my theme, aesthetically. Maybe I could greenstuff some flames on it.
