  1. So, I'm working on the Pull My finger Tactica for Ramos, and One of the things that needs work is the section on playing against the Spider Man. Now, SInce it is only recently that anyone in my group has had Ramos, I am far more used to playing as Ramos than against him. I could use some help in writing that part, even if it is only tips and tricks for it. I figure, we are smarter than I am, so Why not ask? Worst case, It's no worse off than now. My thoughts going in: *Seperate Constructs from Ramos, to deny him synergy *Target Wp: They aren't generally lower than Df, but Wp does not benefit from Ramos Buffs. *Get Ramos away from scrap, and deny him scrap wherever possible. Sure, he has ways to get scrap from himself, but making him work for it reduces his opportunities to do other things. *Use Tarpits to keep him in one place. He can summon all he wants, but if he can't get models to His schemes/strats, he won't win a game. *Whatever you do, don't pick Assasinate. *If Ramos Brings a totem, kill it early. and, of course, *Focus on accomplishing your own schemes and strategy. Any Disagreement, or additional thoughts?
  2. And, of course, Pullmyfinger has a Ramos section...
  3. Unless there is something on the model that makes the blasts which allows the blast markers to move(Such as Sonnia's Pyrokinesis) the book says that the bases must be in base contact, wich would imply that unless said model is tall enough to intersect the line of blast markers, it would pass over their heads.

  6. I think he might have been aluding to "the Best laid plans of mice and men," WHich comes from the line "But Mousie, thou art no thy lane, In proving foresight may be vain: The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men Gang aft agley, An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain, For promis'd joy!" From the poem To a Mouse, by Robert Burns. ...and I always figured Ratty for Pinky.
  7. I kind of figured it was like the agents in "the Matix" where the waif literally changes shape into Levi. From there, and likely most applicable: "Dating from the Middle Ages, when a woman was proscribed and subjected to penalties of outlawry, she was said to be “waived” and called a "waif". This waiving of the law was tantamount to outlawry since it removed all protection of the law.[4] Women in this status were outside of the "law", and others could kill them on sight as if they were wild animals."
  8. Okay. SInce I've done the vast majority of the work on Ramos(albeit, not since October) I guess I could do a bit more. Does he need anything other than: a picture, updating for Wave 2 models, schemes, and strategies?
  9. Honestly, If you are bringing Judge and a DM, it might be worth ridding yourself of a Witchling and the rifleman, and bringing along the Witchling Handler. The extra damage with the handler's burning aura is going to make reincarnation more useful, and if you can get an upgrade and +1 SS to the cache, Sonnia would shine.
  10. Well, the coffin sizes can at least be excused by the RPG: In one of the books, it does state that every DM crafts his own coffin, and I would assume that anyone who is training to fight undead probably didn't spend a lot of time learning to be a good carpenter.
  11. I don't know that I would say that the Malifaux child is too good, so much as that most totems still are a bit underpowered, or difficult to use well. Remember, the Malifaux Child costs an extra SS to hire, so it is cheap, but not ridiculously so. and the lower CA makes the spell less likely as well. Thing is, most people can figure out how to use the Malichild easily, and it fits well with spell-casters. This means that it is going to look a bit over-used until someone comes out with a a crew/strategy using one of the totems it usually replaces well, simply because it takes less effort to figure out how to make the Malichild worth its cost than the totems it replaces, regardless of whether it actually is better or not. That being said, I do like the Malichild, and think it is a great addition to the game as is. I don't know if increasing its cost(which would be the simplest way to rebalance it if it was a bit too good, which I again would dispute) would not make it too expensive.
  12. I do wish that it didn't feel like information was excised from the books for those expansions, though. Sometimes, Future proofing just creates holes; it would have been better for the core books not even to mention race, and have the expansions go into it, IMHO.
  13. Well, I do have some problems with layout, and magic, now that I've had a chance to read through the books. Mostly, it comes down to this: information organization leads a lot to be desired. The books have so much fluff mixed in everywhere that at times it can be hard to figure things out, and the gear section really ought to have all the charts moved to the back or front, since 3 pages of information on the history of revolvers isn't really helpful when you are looking at which revolver to use your gunfighter pursuit on. Also, many of the skills you can take at startup require items that have no members below the starting script price. I'm not saying there should be good items, but would it have been so bad to provide stats for an 8 Script whip, for instance, for those who took ranks in flexible weaponry? I hope that future releases learn from this, because the information is good, just not really organized to get you to the game. I think a few more items/stats would have helped by reducing DM decision load(the main issue I usually have with being DM) but the information is good, and I suspect that the splatbooks will help to clear up some of the issues. I would guess that, if this succeeds well enough that a second edition is ever created, a lot of stuff from the splatbooks will be incorporated into the core book, since at current, it feels like it is missing a large bit of the information which should be coming in them.
  14. ...But can it do the truffle Shuffle? ...Goonies forever.
  15. Kang was kicked out for being socialist scum. Johan left, but since nobody ever heard from the people sent to collect his dues, it is assumed that he paid them and then bad things happen. or something.
  16. It does sound like it would get frustrating for Seamus to play on a lot of blocking terrain which was too short for him to be completely out of LOS, though.
  17. I'd say case B. It has been ruled before(and I think implied or outright stated in the FAQ) that while the actions caused by an action which causes other actions...action are part of the action which caused them, they are still individual actions. To wit, When focusing before a charge, focus only applies to the first attack. When randomizing on rapid shot, all shots must be randomized. Etc. As such, the most likely interpretation is that each attack from locomotion is a separate Ml attack that happens to also be considered p[art of the locomotion action, so case B seems appropriate.
  18. To explain it another way, if you think about the side view, there is more than one side view possible. To wit, if you rotate your viewpoint a bit, you have an entirely different view than you did before. Therefore, since you can come up with at least one side view in which a diagonal LOS can be drawn, you have LOS. You could come up with a view in which the 3" height is directly in front of the 2" Height, and draw a Diagonal Line that way.
  19. The only time diagonals are used is when determining LOS from Vantage point terrain. otherwise, it's all segments. The game is actually 2.5D.
  20. No, As per the FAQ, if you intend to stop on terrain, you have to measure climb distance. If you just want to go over it, you don't.
  21. She allows you to give synergy to any guild model brought with Sonnia. What isn't to like? DMs that add burning are golden. SHe's a decent sword wielder, and if you bring reincarnation, makes it very likely you will get lots of witchlings out, which she then makes better. I don't see the problem. She never did it for me in M1E, but I'm liking her now. Not an auto take, but definitely up there.
  22. While that may literally be true, Opponent is defined as the enemy crew controller, not an inanimate collection of colored bits of paper.
  23. Not going to lie. I've gone on record supporting Wyrd in this Kickstarter—or at least, saying complaining about it is unproductive. at this point, My opinion is pretty much "It's sunk cost. If it comes, it comes, and if not, oh well. Not getting the money back" That being said, the kickstarter has failed to impress me on nearly every level, form the initial Kickstart campaign to the communication(or lack thereof.) It certainly hasn't made me want to participate in any of the kickstarters they have done since. I would hope that Nathan and co. look at the response here, and figure out why it has been so negative. The haters have a point, even if I don't aggree with the...vehemence they put in it. Learning the right lessons from the experience will help Wyrd be more successful in the future. learning the wrong lessons, or not learning any will make it harder and harder for them to do things like this in the future. and that would be a shame, as from what I have seen of the Pdf, the product is really quite nifty. It would just be nice if more of the information had been doled out/planned via the kickstarter than having to dig through pages of forums to find "we don't know where it is, it's out of our hands." Which, while undoubtedly true, has a cop-out sound to it, does little to assuage fears or anger, and ignores the opportunity to give other forms of content in updates than shipping date. I'm not trying to attack anyone. I get how busy it has to be there, and how things can get overlooked. But Wyrd can do better. I know this, because I've seen them do so in the past. And, above all, I want them to succeed so I can continue enjoying products from them for years to come.
  24. Well, I'm figuring on late next week or the week after, given the implication they are coming in (late)today(and weekend shipping seems unlikely). still, good news!
