  1. Wow. Your palette and skills are incredible. Looking forward to see the painted McCabe.
  2. Finished painting Tara and Karina. Waiting for the a Bete Noire and the new Death Marshal sculpt have my complete crew. Compared to the previous photo, this is taken with less harsh lighting. Previous photo was taken with flash. Hence the greasy look.
  3. Wow! This look awesome. Did you paint them with purple washes over green? I really like the glowy eyes effect. My Tara also has sword green like yours. Will post the her and Karina when I am done with them in a couple of days.
  4. Our ways of treating the models are different. I really like your minimalistic approach. Why didn't I think about it before painting. But like what nagash13 mentioned, some spots of complementary colors will defnitely make the models pop out.
  5. Like you said, I was trying to use colors from the whole spectrum. Purple, green and orange are equally spaced on the color wheel. The emphasis is on purple because it is the closest color to nothing. Go ahead. I am looking forward to see how you do your florescent theme. I would love doing freehand but my freehand sucks. In this instance though, I prefer the model to be more ethereal without the limits of flesh. Hence no veins and arteries. I only prime with black. Even with lighter color models I'll still work with black. I normally do not use wash so black priming is better for the shadow regions.
  6. All the bases are the awesomest I have seen. The freehand are all very good too. This tread has inspired me to try doing something like this.
  7. Obliteration came and there was nothing. From nothing came the beast. The Nothing Beast does not actually exist. If it does not exist, how come we can see it and hold it in our hands? There are two reasons. The official reason (quoted from book): The creature is only visible because it chooses (... ...) to not destroy certain strands of light... .... The real reason: Wyrd can't sell you a "Nothing" model. Rendering nothing is quite hard, especially when there is something there. These are probably the most difficult models to work with. I was thinking of doing a grayscale model but it will be too dull. In the end, the models are done with purple with highlights to green and orange-red at various areas. Please feel free to comment and suggest recommendations to improve.
  8. Actually that didn't cross my mind. I think I'll still do the Mannequins and Coryphee like they were made of wood. But I will try to paint all the metals with NMM. This will be my first time trying that though and I hope it turns out well. Anyone with tips on how to do NMM?
  9. I have seen the real model, it was really awesome. The color scheme and technique are all very good. The painter told me he was trying out the "Iron Man" theme. I am happy the model won Best of Wyrd.
  10. The showgirls are really very nice models. I started with the Mechanical Doves before moving on to the girls. I like how the models turned out. Pity is that my painting is a bit messy. Comments and feedback welcome. I will be working on magnetising the Coryphee Duet next.
  11. Finally got another model painted after so long. The Executioner. I'll be starting to paint some Arcanist next.
  12. I think the nightmare coming out of the closet idea seems good if you can pull it off on a 30mm base. Or monsters coming out of a toy chest. Very classic ideas of where the kids imagine the nightmare to come out from.
  13. I am gonna steal your idea too. I think greenstuff will still be your best bet to create the flames.
  14. Very nice highlighting. How did you paint the face? What colors did you use?
  15. Very very awesome. Will be looking forward to see the completed piece (in weeks... sob!). I am sure it'll make a great centrepiece for every game.
