  1. I'm thinking about picking up the Lucky Emissary because it's an interesting model. I mean, I have the Carrion Emissary and it's amazing. The Gremlin one should be solid, right? Is it good? Will I use it? What do you use it with? Tell me about your games with it.
  2. I'm just gonna use a pair of Brute Thralls leftover from the ocean of Cryx I can't sell.
  3. Okay, for all intents and purposes it's basically discarded already. Thanks.
  4. Tinkering with the Unknown is the Lightning Bug's 0. Place a card face down. End of turn reveal and apply an effect. Discard if the model leaves play. Is the card still in my hand? Can I cheat with it? Can I be forced to discard it? Does it return to my hand after revealing it? Can I use one card for multiple Bugs? Does it count towards current hand size?
  5. It makes me happy that Frame for Murder is going to appear more often. It's a great scheme that creates a minigame within the game.
  6. Holy crap, Merris. Flying wk5, Reckless, discard a card to drop a Scheme marker. Df6. Does she protect herself with Exhaust Trail? ... Boo Rare2. Sad face. ... Hm, Raphael.
  7. I feel like Fingers could run most schemes virtually solo. But eggs, basket? Closer look at Fingers.. DF/WP 6, decent hp and cg8. He's also ht1 which is situationally amazing. Squeal, Reckless, Don't Mind Me, Chatty. Can turn enemy scheme markers into yours. If he can target himself with Take A Swig he can also heal himself. Being a Henchman he can also use Soulstones. Problem is, he has zero damage output and is 10ss... but he seems crazy good at schemes/scheme prevention. ... Upgrades. Hide In the Mud - Soft cover would make him even harder to remove. Liquid Bravery - He doesn't have a zero. Would be fairly useful here but it'd limit his positioning. Stilts - Just in case he gets charged. Still has Squeal, though. Probably Hide in the Mud or nothing, I think. ... Why am I talking myself into buying Brewmaster's box? lol
  8. So I've been dabbling with Malifaux on and off for a while now, in small bursts. But only recently, did I quit Warmachine and take on the game as my focus. I decided all the Resurrectionist masters were kinda boring and Gremlins looked fun, so I picked them up. Kinda went back and forth a while. Gonna stick to Gremlins and see how it pans out. Assembled my Rooster Riders and played two games with them. Was amazed by the speed and fragility. Then they lost Reckless.. and they seem mediocre after another game. I spent a bunch of yesterday listening to Alexander Schmid's Youtube- he mentions that if you're used to playing something, play something else and come back to it so the contrast is forgotten. Explore other options. But the question is what? What is great at scheme running for Gremlins? I want something super fast that can start scoring backline schemes ASAP. a] 2 Bayous. More bodies. One shot Drunk and Reckless (without damage reduction). With or without Lenny tossing them up the board. At 3ss each they're probably the best option. b] Iron Skeeters. They're walk 6 and can make another model move with them/fast. They're kinda suit dependent, though, which seems iffy. Kinda expensive at 6ss. c] Swine Cursed. When they come out I'll be running 2-4 of them with Wong. Huge damage dealers, regenerating reckless. Probably too expensive to scheme run at 7ss. d] Fingers. He's 10ss, but he's reckless, walk 6, super mobile, chatty and has Don't Mind Me. He's actually kind of amazing but he's expensive and I have to buy Brewmaster to get him. e] Lightning Bugs. Walk 5, Reckless and they get an extra action. 5ss isn't terrible. Fairly durable. Might be a solid option. Ideas?
  9. Zipp's attack, "Up we go!" causes 2/4/5 that cannot be reduced. Soulstones prevent damage, as far as I can tell. I assume his attack bypasses armour, but not damage prevention flips?
  10. What goes into this Somer Gunline I've heard so much about?
  11. Asking a question for a friend who plays Guild. Let's say you take Queeg and give him Promises, an upgrade that gives a buff to WP duels. Nellie has Ca actions, but they are resisted by WP. Does Nellie benefit from the +flips when casting Propaganda, for example?
  12. What are people playing with Zipp?
  13. Another question. This is probably a dumb one. You've got Sammy with Ooh Glowy. McTavish with Glowy. It seems to be pretty clear that Ooh Glowy just buffs the Glowy model but does nothing for itself. ie; Sammy doesn't get +1 damage. I was under the impression that it buffed her damage, too. Am I missing something?
  14. Let's say you're casting a spell that has a target number of 14. You flip and have a 12. Opponent flips and has 11. Do you have to cheat first because you're not meeting your target number to get the spell off? I remember it was a mark1 thing.
  15. Sammy has an ability called Winds of Fate, that lets you discard and draw a card, once per turn, when another model draws a card in six. When it comes to spending Stones to draw cards, does the master count as drawing cards?
  16. This was a really good ep. The guest was very knowledgeable and came across very confident. A++ will listen to again.
  17. Slop Hauler healing and Bayou Two Card. It says the target model makes the healing flip. Can you Two Card it if you target a Bayou Gremlin? Or does the Hauler's own Two Card let you reflip if healing a model without it?
  18. Thanks for the replies guys. Totem wise, would you actually want Skeeters with Somer? Or Old Cranky? I'm probably going to order a bunch of Gremlin stuff this weekend. Wong and Ophelia's boxes. McTavish. The guy that gets a free upgrade. Old Cranky. Rooster Riders. Any other really sweet stuff I should consider? What do Survivors do?
  19. University of Transmortis. Gets you Valedictorian and the Students of Steel, Sinew and Viscera. A great beater and three valuable summons. Philip for scheme control and cats draw. I also don't really value Toshiro. You already get plus flips from Corpse Conductor and Punk Zombies have it native.
  20. That sounds pretty solid. McMourning, Plastic Surgery, Moonlighting. Rafkin, Transfusion Sebastian, Transfusion, Those Are Not Ours! Carrion Emissary, McMourning's Conflux 2 Canine Remains Nurse Flesh Construct 4 cache. Going into it with the idea that I'm going to eat a zombie for a stone any turn Sebastian isn't transfusing. 4 seems pretty low for a frontline/mid master though.
  21. That's pretty fair. Got a game with McMourning (vs Guild McMourning.. what.) next week. Will be my first game with him. McMourning, Moonlighting and Plastic Surgery Zombie Chihuahua Sebastian, Transfusion Rafkin, Transfusion Flesh Construct, Nurse, Rotten Belle 3 Canine Remains 6 cache. Workable as a starter list? Am I missing anything? Obviously I'll make modifications for relevant schemes/strategies.
  22. Are people getting much use out of Evidence Tampering? Claiming scheme markers in 4" at the end of the game seems a great way to screw with people. But.. that 2 stones is the difference between an extra scheme runner or not. And Those Are Not Ours! Worth it?
  23. Hey, just wanted to check in and say thanks for the pointers. The tournament I was prepping for was on the past weekend. I ended up going 2-1 and we had like 18 players. Had fun and came away being enthused for the game. Round 1 - Kirai vs. Zorida. Won 6-3. Collect the Bounty (1), Detonate Charges (3), Exhaust (2). Round 2 - Kirai vs. McMourning. Lost 0-6. It was devastating learning what he does to other Ressers. Interferance, Search Ruins, Convict Labour. Game went to time. Biggest grind ever. Round 3 - Seamus vs. Mei Feng. Won 9-3. I was pretty much in control the entire game. Extraction (3), Show of Force (3), Convict Labor (3). Turns out I misread Public Demonstration. You name 3 of YOUR models and bring one of THEIRS to it. I thought it was the other way around. lol. Yeah, Belles can do that in a heartbeat. ... I'm somewhat concerned about the McMourning game, though. He kept stacking ridiculous poison, transferring it, then Expunging and making Flesh Constructs. Well, twice. On 8+ Stone models. Couldn't stop it. I think I need condition removal. Chikai the Neice? Thinking about playing some Gremlins or switching to non-summoner masters. 90% of Kirai's time was spent creating 2-3 models/turn. I feel like Absorb Spirit over Swirling Aether was a good choice. Saved me a stone so I had six. ... And here's some pics others took of my army. # Player TP Diff VP Faction 1 Liam 9 13 27 Arcanists 2 Adrian 9 13 21 Ten Thunders 3 John 6 11 20 Arcanists 4 Chris 6 10 21 Resurrectionists 5 Jarrod 6 10 19 Outcasts 6 Kyle 6 5 18 Arcanists 7 Jason 6 3 15 Resurrectionists 8 Matt 4 6 20 Guild That's the top 8. I'm #7. Was heaps of Rezzers.
