  1. No, there's no problem with the scale of the Kin versus Somer who's not even standing up straight. Compare him to the stick-thin Rami, for example. The Young La Croix on the other hand... As for other models, Gracie and Burt are built for each other. Slippery and his Tome triggers, along with her armor, make them a great pair.
  2. Balanced at 7 stones? Yeah, maybe if they were Walk 6, had more wounds and/or Feed Piggies wasn't 2 AP... As for the Bug comparison, I'll be honest and say I've never run them but I don't understand how people are being so dismissive of them. Neat as hell 0 actions, more wounds, Ca 6, Walk 5, armor piercing. There's a lot to like there. In fact, I'm thinking Survival of the Fittest for Tinkerin' and Do It Like Dis' for their triggers might make them tasty on a Somer list.
  3. Something looks just slightly off and I think it's the heads. The body pretty much conforms to the rough silhouette of what I'd expect but the head looks pretty much unrecognisable to me as a komainu. Ah well, they're just not for me.
  4. The system works. Thanks for clarifying the rules. Time to update my print-outs...
  5. An extremely characterful crew. I adore the dog and Wind Waker-inspired Piglets.
  6. A 2x2 board is losing more than half of the area of a 3x3 board (4 square feet versus 9). I couldn't imagine it would be much fun to play on that, even compensating vertically for deployment zones or scaling the values. Is it not possible to fit a new table in?
  7. I'd rather have a model that takes an extra 30 minutes to put together than one that sacrifices design or detail for ease of construction. Even if it involves separate Gremlin ears!
  8. Great points and also one of the reasons I love Somer. You know, I'm thinking of 1E rules again where it was the closest target, not just a legal target. Great point. Also interesting tactic with Defensive Stance. I'll have to keep that in mind... Once I get some more models painted up, I'll have to make my crews a little more porcine.
  9. I really want to integrate pigs into my list but they are such a liability. Is more than one Hog Whisperer pushing it? Secondly, has anyone tried running dual War Pigs? In regards to Lenny, I suppose the pigs can "truffles" him closer. What I hadn't considered is that he can Toss the little ones straight into the enemy. That raises some interesting opportunities.
  10. Damn, that's a biggun. Love the fact it came with a base insert as well. What a nice idea. Nice post.
  11. Each walk is its own discrete action so you can't hop past 8" of terrain. It has to complete one walk action then take another.
  12. There's definitely something "cuter" about the non-Nightmare version. It looks massive in the picture, even at a smaller scale.
  13. Love it, Spiral. Hope it serves you well on the table.

Edit: Oh whoops, I appear to be on there already...
  15. Good spot. i really wish the image was bigger.
  16. I agree you could use a bit more terrain but the boards look lovely. The red crystals work really well for hazardous terrain and the sign's a nice touch.
  17. Don't forget Stilts precludes Francois from benefiting from Toss or the Launch ability of Lenny and the pigapult, respectively. Also, it means he can't be ignored via Ophelia's Shoot High Boys or Rami's Aim High. Still awesome on him and irrelevant as soon as he drops them, but worth noting.
  18. If you have Brewmaster or Zoraida, you can Obey Rami to focus once. When he activates, he's already focused and can take his longer shot. If you choose to use reckless, you're left with 2AP to focus and shoot again.
  19. Von Schill's moustache has won me over. Is there a good list of boxes to pick up for a functional Outcasts force?
  20. Bengt, you crew looks absolutely lovely. I love the dark color-scheme on the constructs.
  21. I think you've got the wrong impression about how restrictive the game is. Play a few games and you realise that sticking to the faction rules isn't restrictive at all. Have a read of the rules and importantly the fluff as well and you'll start seeing crews that you want to make up that are thematic and fun. Remember, you don't know what the enemy's bringing - you're trying to make up a crew each game that accomplishes your goals. It's up to you how you want to do that.
  22. Don't forget, you can lose and have fun. That said, the question really depends on whether you mean a game with two players of equal skill. I'm pretty sure a good player with a non-optimal (not worst possible) crew is still going to lord it over a more optimised list. The nice thing is, there are tons of goofy and thematic lists that do work.
  23. Unfortunately, Somer can't do that because the Golem's not a Gremlin. Do It Like Dis won't affect it.
  24. I'm far from the only one to spot the preview, I'm sure. So when do you take this model? Does it have a use beyond Brewmaster crews or does it only exist to spread around Poison? Am I missing any tricks with it, other than to walk up and hit things, dispensing conditions while doing so?
