Yeah, it is yet another example of where the rules, of which this is an improvement--no more trying to figure out on every single action exactly who is the attacker--don't necessarily correlate to the fluff. It's better to have consistent, easy to adjucate rules, but that doesn't mean there isn't a trade-off.

I am always thought it was the DM trying to keep the Boxed model in, rather than the boxed model attacking the DM.

I put you in a room, and hold the door shut so you can't open it. You try to get out.

Who is the aggressor?

Well, the person being active is the one trying to get out. All you have to is hold it. I have to actually fight to get the door open at that point.

All of which is irrelevant, because the rules say that the DM is the attacking model.
