  1. Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well! So, it's with a heavy heart, that I have to announce that I'll be stepping down from running the Iron Quill. Life circumstances have conspired to make this a harder and harder thing to do, much as I'm sad to say. The Quill started a few years ago and it's been an awesome thing to watch so many people try their hands at writing, some for the first time and others just using this as a chance to sharpen up skills. I've been quite proud of it, and of everyone who's taken the time to participate. But sadly, as the above song says, it's time for
  2. Okay, better late than never, right? Sorry everyone. >.< Alright, results of Feast! Second Runner-Up: Gnomezilla with Overhead! First Runner-Up: admiralvorkraft with The Great Soul Train Robbery And our winner is The Grue who wrote But Wait, There's More! Congrats guys, and thank you all for joining in. Okay, so, next round we're going to do our damnedest to have up on February 15th. Hope to see you then!
  3. And this is what happens when I get used to using a task list but forget to put things on it... Anyway, sorry folks! We are now back on schedule with Iron Quill Feast. Alright, the voting thread. In case we have any new folks wandering in, this is something both authors and fans can participate in, so please feel free to do so! Here are the rules: The winner of this round will be selected by overall score, as determined by two methods: A public poll will be created where anyone can vote on their favorite story. Each vote is worth 1 point. Authors of submissions can vote in t
  4. Someone for you to invent, actually. Perhaps a person who wears a black tophat, or an assassin that goes with that nickname. Perhaps even a sentient hat! Might also be another type of guard or soldier (like the old Redshirt nickname). Have fun with the idea and see what you come up with!
  5. The Quarantine Zone is actually part of Malifaux City itself. It makes up a large chunk of the North Eastern (I think?) part of the city. The Guild doesn't go in there because it's territory they haven't reclaimed from the Neverborn. As such, Ressers, Arcanists and others hide in there, risking the dangers of the Neverborn to stay near to the city but not leave it.
  6. Hey everyone, welcome to the New Year! I hope everyone had a great time over the holidays. Now that we're back into the swing of some level of normalcy, it's time for a new Iron Quill to ring us in and get the dust blown off those writing muscles! Better get ready, cause there's some great ingredients chosen by your fellow writers to chomp at and be inspired by. The Iron Quill is a writing contest that takes place every month. It’s an exciting competition and a great place to hone your skills and get some constructive feedback. The Rules You must post your story in The Wri
  7. Hey everyone! Small batch of stories this time around, but a great showing from you guys. Here's our results! Second Runner-Up is Haunter, with Luck Runs Out! First Runner-Up is admiralvorkraft, with Cutting. And our winner for this round is RarerMonsters, with Stupid! Congrats guys, and great to see all of you writing stories! The next round will kick off after the new year, as December is always crazy for everyone. My current goal is to get things started on Monday, January 4th, 2016. One thing to note- this was the last Iron Quill to be sponsored by Wyrd. Going forward, there won't b

  14. Nope, not meant to be a piece of dialogue. If you can get it to fit otherwise, that works. Granted, that one is a bit more literal than the other categories. Hope that helps!
