edonil
...(jaw drops) Woah, that's awesome, great job! Question for you- what size brush do you use for painting your eyes? I've been trying to get better at that particular trick, and my brushes keep rebelling against it...

popg0estheworld
For my eyes, I use a Reaper 10/0 brush (the cheaper one) for most of the details like the whites and corneas, and I use a Reaper 30/0 for the eyelashes. Make sure you mix in a little acrylic retarder (available at any art supply store), because the paint tends to dry on the bristles quickly when the brushes are that small. Plus, it gives you more time to work with the paint, or brush it off if you screw up.
Headcase2
One of the most beautiful crews I've ever seen. The somewhat muted colour scheme comes together perfectly, the details are simply amazing (I love those conversions on Alyce), the base work is spectacular,... Simply awesome. (And in the off chance you ever decide to sell it I'd definitely be interested! )
Buck Dog
Amazing work. The standard of painting on these forums is very good, but this takes the crown - yours are some of the nicest mini's I have seen. Can't wait to see your desolation engine ! popg0estheworld
I know I said my waifs would be next, but I got motivated to do some other stuff first... Behold, my Guardian and Watcher. And one more group shot with the new additions...
DAGabriel
Oh that is fine! I just needed an inspiration cause i want that guardian for my LadyJ crew. As all your things both minis are ace!

LoboStele
How in the world did you do that with your Guardian??? Sand down the shield? Even so, your free-hand for doing letters is downright astounding. I tried doing some small letters on a recent figure and they didn't come out looking ANYWHERE near as nice. Wow. Xander
Awesome stuff! I'd love to know your painting recipe for the Guardian!

Even so, your free-hand for doing letters is downright astounding. I tried doing some small letters on a recent figure and they didn't come out looking ANYWHERE near as nice. Wow. Thanks, man. To get the guild crest off, I used a flat file and sandpaper. I had to remove and then resculpt a couple of the rivets, as they got in the way. popg0estheworld
Awesome stuff! I'd love to know your painting recipe for the Guardian! Guardian was a basecoat of Reaper Scorched Metal, a wash/shading of Brown Ink and PP Cryx Bane Base, then highlighted with successive layers of Scorched Metal and Reaper Tarnished Brass. Same for the Watcher.
yslaire
Ask Wyrd for a painter job! Seriously, many of the actual painted teasers or models would greatly be enhanced by you job! :+fate:+fate Ok I'm a rubish painter but I can discern the awesome from the nice :fing02: and I want wyrd to sell more minis :stupido2:
Cpt America
I've always thought the Leveticus crew was interesting (back-story and models.) Seeing these outstanding mini's, sealed the decision on my next crew. I didn't like the Leveticus sculpt until I saw your work. You brought out a lot of detail and character I failed to notice. This is the quality I aspire to create.
popg0estheworld
Thanks- you flatter me. Leveticus is a much nicer sculpt than the photo on his card betrays- but be forewarned, Alyce is not. Her head is TINY, and she is overall very lanky and bizarrely proportioned.
