  1. Okay... considering I was able to get my hands on a Nightmare LCB, I am getting rid of this model. I need to make some money for the summer, and I have bigger plans for my Nightmare LCB, so this guy just doesn't have a place in my collection anymore. Check it out on eBay- http://www.ebay.com/itm/180872635652?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649#ht_500wt_1413
  2. Be my guest! The more the merrier! And thanks to everybody for the praise!
  3. Greetings, all! Long time no see! Since my son was born about 6 months ago, I have not had much time to paint. However, with the Crystal Brush competition held just down the road from me, I had to have something to show. I've been working on an idea for some Day of the Dead themed Ortegas for a while, and I figured now was better than ever to put the plan into action. SO, with only a week left before the competition I got to work. Painting in the evenings, I was able to put this mini-crew together in the 7 days preceding the competition. There is about 18 total hours of work in these guys, 9 of which were done on the Thursday before Adepticon (I literally finished at 3am on this past Friday morning). Anyway, my work paid off as they won both 1st place for Fantasy/Steampunk Squad, and Best Wyrd Miniature. The wall of Latigo is scratch built from plaster of paris and styrene strips. The Executioner model was particularly well adapted to conversion to "Lucha-cutioner," and I sculpted some hair and flowers on Perdita to better compliment her makeup (I figure she would go without her trademark hat for at least the Day of the Dead). Abuela is too awesome to change in any way. The shell casings are from Secret Weapon, and the little Neverborn skull is from the GW beastmen sprue (ribs are just styrene). Anyway, thanks to all those who voted for me, and to Chris from Coolminiornot for taking such awesome pictures. I'll have more to come next year. COnsidering most of the Avatars will be out by then, I should be able to do something appropriately epic for next year's competition.
  4. Sorry all- I meant to post sooner. The crew was snatched up by a distinguished gentleman who owns a spectacular miniature company. Thanks for your praise, all.
  5. Greetings, all! I am purging my unused stuff again, and passing the savings on to YOU!!! Anyway, here is what I am selling- I have them posted on ebay for more exposure, but I would be willing to sell the 'offline' for the right price... I am willing to do partial/full trade if you have the right stuff (which I will discuss later). Anyway, my Leveticus Crew- -Crew consists of Levy, Alyce, 4 SPA, Desolation Engine, Guardian. $350 Classic Convict Gunslinger- $75 Lady J- $100 Anyway, I'm willing to sell for the posted prices, or you can throw in a bid on the auctions. Either way, I will take partial trade as payment. I am looking for the following- -Nightmare LCB (NIB) -GW Imperial Guard stuff (NIB) If you are interested in partial or full trade, message me BEFORE you bid so we can work something out- or send me an offer here, and we can make things work before hand. Anyway, happy bidding. My new child (Ulysses) thanks you in advance for an awesomer Christmas.
  6. Greetings, all! Due to some dire financial circumstances, I need to sell my Kirai crew! It turns out that new babies are EXPENSIVE! Anyway- Here she is- (for the record, you can see more pictures and get more details at my original thread regarding this crew- http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=23239) Anyway, she is up on ebay right now (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180747715220#ht_500wt_1413), but I would be willing to entertain offers from the Wyrd community before bidding ends. Otherwise, go ahead and bid on her. Consider it charity, as it will be helping my kids get a Christmas. Let me know if you have any questions!
  7. ACHTUNG! Due to the need to liquidate some assets and pay some bills (related to my new baby who showed up earlier this month!), I am SELLING THIS CREW!!! That's right- THIS CREW IS FOR SALE- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180747715220#ht_500wt_1413 Bid early and often. Let me know if you have any questions.
  8. Wow, thanks everybody. Unfortunately, this model would not make for good casting, as it has too many skinny bits, and my sculpting is not up to Wyrd standards (Dreamer's head is a bit lop-sided). Thanks for the compliments, though!
  9. I forgot to address the chalk drawings on the back of the wall- I wanted to have some children's artwork featured in this crew (which will feature more prominently in the other models in the crew), so instead of just approximating what a child would do, I enlisted my 4 year old niece to draw me some pictures of Lord Chompy Bits. She did so with great fervor, only explaining that the pictures she drew were actually of Lord Chompy Bits Mom. So, you have a chalk drawing of Lord Chompy Bits' mom that I copied from my niece's drawing on the back wall. You will see some clearer pictures of 'her' on the other crew members.
  10. Alright- I had a few hours this last week to actually dedicate to painting, and I got LCB done... To answer some of the previously asked questions, LCB is pinned into the plasticard in three places, and the plasticard is three sheets thick. He is sturdy as hell. The only weak point is the wooden sword, which already broke off once, and will likely do so many times in the future (much to my chagrin). Next up- Coppelius and lone Dreamer (with Daydream).
  11. Thank you very much. This is one of the nicest compliments I have ever received. This is what I strive for, and hopefully I can bring some of the same to the Wyrd studio work I am now doing.
  12. Gah- you ousted my idea for my alp... I was going to save it and surprise everyone.
  13. ***UPDATE*** I know I said no updated for a few weeks, but while the primer was setting on my commission pieces I got a little more construction work done... Dreamer- I primed the Dreamer just so he would be ready to paint when I get the chance, but I left the back because there is going to be a Daydream perched on the headboard (and I still need to buy them). The bed magnetizes together for display. Coppelius- In case the picture is too dark, Coppelius is stanging near/on a dresser, with the drawer filled with eyeballs (made from lead buckshot). I will probably have some toys or something on top of the dresser in the finished product. So far, I have fun ideas for basing the daydreams and one of the alps. However, I need ideas for basing two more alps, the stitched together, and an insidious madness. Any ideas? Worst case scenario, I just default to orphanage bases.
  14. Unfortunately, it may be a few weeks before I can turn my attention back to Lord Chompy Bits and crew- I have a few important commission pieces to finish before I can work on my own stuff again.
  15. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with the door- I was thinking about a mixture of swirling green aether and night sky, but maybe some kind of water effects would be cool... The jury is still out.
  16. Yup, Lord Chompy Bits is just stock, and I sculpted the dreamer. His crown is made out of glue-hardened card stock, and his sword is styrene.
  17. Thanks! The bricks are just styrene sheets from a company called Plastruct, lined up and then selectively trimmed for the broken wall feel.
  18. Yes! That was totally the goal- I considered doing a chalk door on the other side, but I have other ideas now. Thanks for the feedback. The goal is to have it look like he is kind of leaping out of the door, ready to drop on all "sixes," and I did it specifically because of the original sculpt. I've seen people do leaping LCBs, and I just turned him even further to make his pose look a little more logical. The whole original "touchdown" thing was always a little weird to me- you never got to see the model's face well.
  19. ***UPDATE*** PAINTED PICS ADDED, 6 Oct 11 Greetings, all! Amid a number of commissions, I've been slowly working on a conversion I've been milling around ever since I saw the LCB and Dreamer avatar art. I have it all sculpted up and ready to prime- It is inspired by the Avatar art (obviously), but also a little bit of Where the Wild Things Are, and The Neverending Story. I never liked the fact that the non-nightmare Lord Chompy Bits did not have the Dreamer with him, so I wanted to rectify that. For the record, I did not make the Dreamer Asian- he just kind of looks like that in these pics. He is actually squinting as he yells, which should look more natural once painted. I have some big plans for the back wall, in order to spice it up a little bit too. In addition to this model, I will be adding two Nightmare Teddies, Coppelius, some Alps, some Daydreams, and some Stiched Togethers. I have some fun basing ideas for them that I will reveal as I build them. Anyway, lemme know what you think, and I'll post progress shots as they come (which might be a while- I have a lot on my plate right now). ***UPDATE*** I know I said no updated for a few weeks, but while the primer was setting on my commission pieces I got a little more construction work done... 20. That is a pretty damn crew- very clean, with very smooth blending and skillful highlighting. Love the addition of the brothel baby, and candy works really well on the grave base with her eyes downcast- excellent composition choice. I think my favorite part is the runny eyeliner on the red belle. Very well executed.
  21. Gorgeous boards. What did you make the sewer walls out of? Also, can you move the walls around to change the terrain?
  22. I think I could count on one hand the number of Malifaux games I've actually won. My models might look nice, but I kind of suck at the actual game. I still love it, though.
