  1. Hope it goes well. I'll be out of town, sadly.
  2. Good to know. I'll poke around! Designing the deck was my pleasure! Awesome. Sounds pretty sweet. Definitely can't wait to get a few more miniatures for the crew. Cheers!
  3. Cool thanks! Do you happen to know anything about a typical crew composition for him?
  4. Hi everyone! I trust everyone is anxiously awaiting their GenCon goodies. I've been out of the loop for a while -- since 2E came out and there weren't rules for my Leveticus crew -- but now I am looking to get back into it. What's the state of the rules regarding Leveticus and Co? How much has the crew composition changed since 1E? I understand it's changing a lot. When are the new cards due out for this chap? Any info you have would be most helpful. Cheers!
  5. I definitely had to contact both Eric and Nathan via PM and maybe email, and had to wait a long time (months? ) before I heard back. Busy people be busy!
  6. I prefer metal for skirmish sized games. I like the weight and durability. For larger army-based games, I love plastic. I like a good mix of both, really along with a bit of green stuff.
  7. Looking excellent. Nicely done.
  8. *big grin* Pick up some tokens of some kind. Maybe you already have some glass beads or something. You'll need something to work as counters.
  9. All books/factions in one book, I hope!
  10. I'd be willing to discuss what you are envisioning. Email me at davidjclarke@gmail.com Edit: oops. I see you've got everything figured out.
  11. Cool. Sounds good. Despite having designed the Retro Fate Deck, I am still kind of a n00b when it comes to the game! Hah. Keep up the great blog!
  12. The plastics looks pretty cool. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Awesome stuff! I really need to sculpt more often. I always enjoy it when I do. Are you in Toronto now? I hope the move was smooth! We should meet up for a game sometime. I've got a Retro Fate Deck for you, if you are interested.
  14. @Geck: If you can't get your hands on a deck be sure to let me know, mate. @MudgeBlack / Alviaran: Glad you guys like the numbers. The goal of the deck was to have as smooth a blend as possible between a Fate Deck and a Playing Card deck. The malifaux faction symbols are designed to look like the their corresponding suits. Spade-Crow, Heart-Ram, Club-Tome, Diamond-Mask. That is the actual translation scheme in the rulebook for using a standard deck of cards. Indeed the cards 10 through 13 all use the same "1" which is stylized so as to blend effectively with a second number (1,2,3) and still look like the letters J, Q, K. Big props to Vexxus who encouraged me to come up with a scheme like this. He sketched it out on some scrap paper with a sharpie, and I then streamlined the concept. You'll notice the tuck box even mentions that they can be used as a standard deck of playing cards.
  15. @DeadHyena: Assuming the cards are all aligned face-up, then they should be all the same colour. If they are not, that's something Wyrd should probably know about. Looking at my own cards, I do see some slight variation in the darkness/lightness on the backs. @Dustcrusher: Awesome! @Alviaran: Yep, one and the same! Cheers!
  16. Glad to know they are sturdy! You'll have to post some videos of yourself doing these tricks!
  17. So now that these are available for all to purchase, I don't have to be as hush-hush about them. Fun fact: it's been almost exactly a year since I first started this thread. I want to apologize to everyone who waited patiently when I sort of disappeared from the forums! I had to sign an NDA with Wyrd, so I thought it best to basically cease posting on the Forum. I didn't like the idea of having to be dishonest about the deck, since I knew Wyrd would be producing it. That said, I am very happy with the final product. I was able to use a more-or-less unique texture on the front of the cards for each card in the deck. Same goes for the size and locations of the WMS blood/ink stains. So that was a major plus. Having the deck in my hands feels great. They are very slippery though, and I am hoping that the slipperiness with decease over time. Does anyone else have the cards in hand yet? I found this on YouTube:
  18. Good luck with the move! I hope Toronto is good to you. Maybe I'll see you around.
  19. Thanks! I am really happy with how they turned out.
  20. Thanks. I am also excited for the upcoming summer campaign.
  21. Awesome stuff! I also really like the terrain you are working on. When are you planning on painting it?
  22. I appreciate the praise. Wyrd is pretty cool, no question about that. I think it's a pretty neat accomplishment to have something you designed being distributed all over the globe. I don't really know how else I could support Wyrd; my one little idea has been pretty much exhausted in this design. But, if called upon, I am sure I'd be up for doing something else. Thanks again for your kind words.
