Marker removal

Hey all,

Facing Misaki tonight with Titania1...what can I do to negate shadow markers?

They are destructible, so any model can remove them with an action.

Otherwise there isn't much Titania can do about mass marker removal. Just remember that you can remove those shadows much easier than they can remove your Undergrowth...

Do not fear the pajama girls and boys.

It’s really just Misaki and Minako that can make use of the Shadow Markers, so their placement telegraphs your opponents plan. You’re not really supposed to be able to do much about them either (without investing too much AP into it), they’re basically just another form of movement for the Oyabun.

However…

Aside from spending AP on running around to pounce at shadows, there are some sheananigans to do :

They’re a Ht 0 30mm marker, meaning you can place a 40mm model on top of and deny LoS for Minako and the ability for Misaki to place into contact with it.

Misaki pays for her Shadow mobility with lowering hed Mv. so placing severe terrain aroound shadows will hamper her.

Loving this...so, minimal versatile models, run plenty of Fae and dot markers everywhere?

Placing a 50 mm severe terrain marker on top of a shadow should take a minut of 3” of movement off Misaki.

What you should be aware of is the abundance of Extended Reach. So having plenty of access to alternate ways than charging to get into contact with models is great.

Just beware a marker cannot be created nor dropped on top of other marker. It also means Misaki cannot drop Shadow to a spot if Titania already created an Underbrush there.

Dropped markers can overlap other marker, it’s created that can’t.  (With the confusing point that impassible markers are always Created even when the effect says to Drop them...)

So Titania can’t put her Underbrush on top of a Shadow Marker due to Create, but Misaki can Drop a Shadow Marker on top of an Underbrush Marker.

I mean you could tech in a poltergeist for 5 points, but is it worth it? Probably not. The other issue with mass marker removal is that it will eat your undergrowth as well.

Sadly Poltergeist is a totem. You can only hire or summon a totem if there linked master is in your crew.

At least Titania can move the underbursh markers around once theyre on the table
