Bete's Death Rattle/Criid's Counterspell aura

The Counterspell aura removes the suits from CA actions targeting a model 3" from Sonja Criiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid.

Bete's Death Rattle is a CA action that buries "this model" and removes all wounds from it, etc. It requires a ten of any suit normally, but the TN does include a required , which is normally included in the CA.

If Bete dies in three inches from Criid, does Counterspell Aura remove the from Bete's CA? As Bete's player, I assumed so, as I assumed a CA action has to have a target (even if the target is "this model"), but I wanted to hear your opinions/get the cloud's confirmation.

I'm unsure. My intuition says YES, but said spell says nothing about targets (or LoS).

 

Today, I'm not good with assumptions, so I'll leave this question for the others.

Yeah, that's what had us, too. Which is why we played it conservatively and removed I removed Bete when I flipped a 10 of , and had no high crows in hand to save her.

There are certainly Ca actions  that happen that don't target anyone. See pull my finger on Sommers Upgrade Can of beans.

Yeah I'd also err on the side of No, I think If a action doesn't specify a target then i would say (unless its proven otherwise) Counterspell aura wouldn't affect it.

This model =/= target. Since it is not targeting then it's not removing the suits.

There is no inherent need for actions to target anything. If action targets something it says so. Death Rattle doesn't say it targets anything so it doesn't interact with Sonnia's aura in any way.

No. Similarly Leap, Creepy Fog, False Claim, Revel in Creation, Riptide, Blistering Fog and any other Ca action without a target is unaffected by Counterspell Aura.

Sonnia's Counterspell wouldn't do much since it is not targeting Sonnia. Hannah's and the Librarians however would strip the suit from Bete forcing you to have a high to keep her around

Does not say friendly model nor does it Need to only target Sonnia. If for instance a belle tried luring Seamus out but he was in 3 of Sonnia the belle would lose its suits. Also this moderation makes my posts come up late. I agree with Hannah ness
