zFiend
So this came up in a game today: Sonnia casts flame wall, does she have to have LoS where she is casting the wall prior to the walls? Or can she cast them anywhere on the table as long as she can draw LoS to the Ht5 wall itself?
0 Paddywhack
I am assuming you need LOS to the point you are summoning the templates. Because how would you draw LOS to something that doesnt exist yet (the templates) to the above.
0 Dirial
I am assuming you need LOS to the point you are summoning the templates. Because how would you draw LOS to something that doesnt exist yet (the templates) By that logic, summoning needs LoS to the base (Ht 0), too. I'm just not sure that the rules enforce that. I think it's the intent but the wording is murky here.
0 zFiend
It is. It would be nice to get something official on this.
0 Soundwave
Could you summon a flame wall 5" into the air and let it fall down? Does gravity exist for markers? Yes, I'm slightly facetious, but still.
0 Kadeton
Pretty sure you're not allowed to summon anything in midair, period.
0 Sholto
The more I think about it the more I am persuaded that LOS is to the Summoned object (be it model or marker) and not to the location on the table where it is to be Summoned. It does make blocking placement of Ht5 Markers almost impossible, but I am pretty sure none of us have played it that way before so none of us know whether it is OP or not (strongly suspect it is not). 0 Math Mathonwy
Pretty sure you're not allowed to summon anything in midair, period. Except Dropteddies. They are quite horrible, let me assure you.Dreamer can summon one - it's TN is 27 (+ the masks). You need Tannen and three (enemy) Lightning Bugs to pull it off but the resulting *splat* is totally worth it. I hear Wong was once killed this way.
0 Sholto
Molly Summons everything in midair - it's why all her summons die unless there is a soft enemy to cushion its landing.

0 zFiend
I thought they only had those in Australia? Well, no, they voted against them because they were not lethal enough and they don't wanna be called pansies.

0 Kadeton
Aye, the Australian Dropteddies are poisonous and poop fire. Fortunately they can't attack you if you attach the "Vegemite Behind The Ears" upgrade.
