  1. Yes. He's a big reason that Ressers are so high in the competetive tiers.
  2. I'm a big fan of Asura with Seamus. I haven't played much yet because I haven't painted my Miss Feasence and that drives me crazy, but my list generally has Sybelle, a doxy, here, the emissary and Asura. I've been considering giving up on Sybelle for Archie but time will tell there. I like the rest of the list though.
  3. Schemes and strats time! Round One Corner Deployment, Corrupted Idols Harness the Ley Line, Dig Their Graves, Take Prisoner, Outflank, Search the Ruins Round Two Standard Deployment, Reckoning Breakthrough, Search the Ruins, Dig Their Graves, Deliver a Message, Vendetta Round Three Flank Deployment, Turf War Detonate Charges, Breakthrough, Search the Ruins, Hold Up Their Forces, Power Ritual Prizes announced soon hopefully!!!
  4. Well with how much havoc he causes you never know! 😂
  5. Is... This model is DMH. Is there anything stopping people from playing it in a DMH legal tournament? I can't tell. (Also! Give us this as a model!!! I love it!!)
  6. The Collodi M2E box is gonna be hard to track down but the fastest way to get Vasilisa. If you want a Vasilisa effect without the heals you could just grab Widow Weaver for now, although those heals and her carry effect make Vasilisa very worth buying to me.
  7. No no, they wanted one of THEM to be December's voice, because they reeeeeeaaaaally deserved it, they've been so good and it's just not fair that they don't get a prize! And then yeah, basically more of that ad nauseum and they through a misogynistic temper tantrum that ironically brought about the same event that were prophesized.
  8. I think my experience playtesting has my rankings sitting here, but no competetive play yet to back it up. Hoffman Lady Justice Lucius (needs the new releases) Perdita Nellie (also needs the new releases) Basse (will need new releases desperately, but likely jump up a few spots with a deeper model pool) Sonnia Dashel Overall the faction is too weak for me to take in a tournament because the few crews that are really really good are countered hard by people in my meta, but I think Hoffman, Lady J and Lucius are generally enough to get you there if you play smart.
  9. That's very disingenous tbh. I don't break models every game, and most people don't. But Wyrd models are notably spindly at times and some models are just prone to snapping. One of my Stitched Together breaks at the attachment points crazy easy and it's only because it's broken a few times that I know exactly how to handle it so it doesn't break. Some people don't pin models either, and I know for a fact someone not being careful could snap off my unpinned pale rider. It's not about people not trying to be thoughtful, it's that we know our mod ls better. And frankly I've seen other people have MUCH more frequent breakage so again, yeah no. And that doesn't even begin to touch on how much people don't like other people touching their minis, even without then being broken. I think even with that information it's absolutely possible to within a few tournaments figure out a niche crew that no one else is going to know how to run so that you have an edge. (ex: running a mix of out of faction models and ook models in something like Outcast Barbados or Neverborn Hinamatsu to have a weird mix that aren't intuitively synergistic) I think if you wanna sit down with a buddy and play like this that's one thing. But this is a terrible idea for a tournament where you're trying to be competetively viable and you're going to be playing with strangers who will be using your minis.
  10. That's the worst tournament idea I've ever heard. People get really attached to their models and generally don't want other people touching them. Plus imagine someone else accidentally breaking one of YOUR models during a game. Also a solid hoser is just to take a summoning master and hope they don't own the models that master can summon, and since summoners are already always precariously positioned to be the best masters because of the extra model advantage I think that these tournaments would heavily favor players who regularly play Dreamer, Asami or Kirai. Those three need their summons more than the other summoners and it would just be a slog since that's always what you'd find yourself playing into, as soon as the meta got solved in 1 or 2 tournaments. And again, people REALLY don't like having other people handle their minis.
  11. Oh no, no, no. Zoraida's trying to work with the Tyrants at the end of Book 5, Titania is trying to kill them. She just has a hard on for the Grave Spirit as a TOTALLY HARMLESS TOOL to kill Tyrants which uh.... Yikes.
  12. (In all seriousness though, Yan Lo is near about the worst and most selfish person in the lore from a "greater good" standpoint; it's weird to me that Titania isn't on your list of good characters (yes, she's wrong in how she pursues it; yes she's also actively trying to save the world) but Yan Lo is considered good. I'd love to hear your arguments there tbh, it sounds like a pretty unique take!)
  13. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's hilarious : )
  14. Does anyone know where I could procure a copy of Crossroads 7? I want to use it for a prize for an event coming up since anyone in the game can use them but I'm feeling pretty sure I'm out of luck since it, as usual, seems out of stock everywhere.
  15. Either a new crew or a nightmare model of a new crew. Like I said, there's been a lot of speculation all over the place about him.
  16. Because as of the M3E launch there is no alt McCabe. (Rollins Black's fate is unknown, but they've said he'll eventually be playable. A lot of speculation about whether he'll still be an alt McCabe or a new masters but for now we have no official confirmation which means no stat card.)
  17. Honestly, expecting your opponent to move their cards isn't something I could support in a tournament. Condition tracking is done in a lot of different ways on cards themselves (markers such as bath pebbles, dry erase markers, damage track clip ons) and requiring people to keep track of those conditions in another place becomes another level of extra things to keep track of that can unintentionally lead to a mucked up game state or timing out worse than normal. The best thing to do is to memorize what every model in the game does; since none of us are likely to do that, the next best is to bring your own copies of cards. Bring the app if you can or would like to, or the physical cards for quick reference. But ultimately it's your responsibility to plan around open information on the board, although good sportsmanship dictates that you should answer questions honestly. In a tournament setting though I don't know that I'd even be mad if an opponent flat out wouldn't explain interactions in their crew. That's my responsibility to recognize the interactions, and not telling me so I can tech against it isn't wrong. In a casual game it's a dick move though.
  18. Hi! Some of the alt models are in the app and some aren't and some (Miss Terious) are in the app but as the wrong models. Is this something that's still being worked on or did you all decide not to put in alts? If you are still working on it will we also get alts like the 2e versions of models like Daydreams? We already have the cards is why I ask.
  19. Brutal Fate still hasn't made it to all Gencon orders yet and is one that they massively underordered.
  20. OH. See, I've been approaching the whole topic presuming your summons count against your model pool for the event. I think my crews go down to uh... About 161-173 (event dependent) for both crews without summons/replace effects. Which is still pretty high compared to the suggestion but yeah that makes it significantly better.
  21. Any of thos fixed pool ideas also absolutely decimate summoners. Really and truly, the best thing to buy if you're making limited purchases is an easy to complete keyword. Kaeris has 4 total purchases. Lady Justice is going to have 3 at the end of November. There are easier masters to buy into and then there are harder ones. (Summoners, Puppets and Mei Feng immediately come to mind.) Finish a crew and then make smart purchases about the versatile models you want before going for a new crew if it's a major concern. Again, my two favorite crews have access to over 300 soulstones of models without versatile. Some other crews have significantly less. That's not an immediate indicator of power level. If you're worried about this casually you can always use proxies. If you're worried about it competitively there may be someone that can let you borrow models to fill your collection. (Plenty of us play multiple factions but can't bring them all to a tournament, and would be more than happy to loan out models.) But a lot of the depth of complexity to the game comes from its model pools, which I imagine is why fixed pool got nixed in the first place.
  22. You... Do realize this is a game based on history with strong historical footing, right? Saying this would be like saying a discussion about why Nazis are bad is out of place in the forum of a WWII game. This whole thread is a mess though. Half of the thread is fine and honest discussion but half of you are just heckling people which is just a really shitty thing to do in general. It's very easy to just not send a reply if you can't be polite when contributing. I've already said everything I want to say about this topic but I'm really disappointed with the community right now because we should be better than this. It's a niche game that we all enjoy, we shouldn't be tearing each other down y'all
  23. Well, several people have independently brought it up to me, so yes, I'd say yes. Just because I don't personally have any skin in the game on it doesn't mean I should ignore give completely isolated instances across both Malifaux and TTB. But again, it's one model, which is much better than many mini games.
  24. I've heard a lot of people talk about it and nauseum but the tl;dr is his model is apparently based on a highly recognizable but also very racial charicature sculpture of North American first nation people but also... It's one model from a long time ago and Wyrd's actively becoming better and better. Again, out of all the games where racist characaturing is an ACTUAL issue Malifaux isn't really one.
  25. Okay, to the actual thread: Wong sucks and there's no way around that. Big Jake is a really racist model. And that's it. That's literally it. The older books really skirt the line a lot, but as of newer stuff Wyrd is one of the only companies that actively makes models for as many different ethnicities and genders of characters as possible. Malifaux is the most diverse play community in my whole area's mini scene because if how good their representation is. They've had a few misses, but if you actually read the lore it's mostly done very well, and Malifaux isn't the place to start a flame war tbh. Honestly the amount of people I've seen so happy over seeing themselves in this game is ridiculous, so like, even if this thread is well intentioned, it doesn't have much bearing in the real world. The whole "eastern theming" thing that you're trying to push off isn't a thing in the game. It's just a vibrant depiction of multiple distinct cultures that Wyrd decided they didn't need to Europeanize to make the game appealing to people, and they were right. There are probably people ignoring the attention to detail they have, but that's not on the game that bases so much of its characters on historical or mythical figures. Malifaux is a vibrant and diverse world and while there are some issues with it this really isn't one of them based on how many people feel so excited to see a game that actually has minis that look like them in it.
