  1. I did a recent Tourny as Lucas for Round 1 thinking it'd be a good idea to fight close deployment. Due to my inexperience, my opponents amazing skill, my poor flips, and some heavy meds I screwed up hard. Thankfully there was a break for me to recover by Jacob Lynch is a nasty master for the round 1 we played. Looking at you @Yvarre. ;p The other two rounds I thoroughly enjoyed playing Asami. I feel that she is amazingly skilled at most strategies/schemes especially claim jump. While I can back up Yvarre's claims on the Lucas and scheme build, I was unable to play it round 2 due to terrain not having enough room to pass through with a 50 mm base reliably. Very tight, very hilly. So far, Claim Jump asami has been my go to. I genuinely think we have a strong force for most of these new schemes and maybe Dig their graves would be hard? Thought on that? Sorry for rambling.
  2. Thanks so much for providing those copies! Myself and my two friends will be there! Can I register via Paypal still or will it be best to do so in person now? ~JT 10 Thunders fever!
  3. I got my order last week but my Poster/Black Joker mini was missing. Do they get shipped separately for anyone else?
  4. I'm a sucker for Hucksters and Well Dressed Gentlemen. I chose Lynch... but it was him or Seamus.
  5. I like to take either 2 other models for running schemes or Swordsman, or save points for my henchman picks. It comes to playstyle I think. I generally do not need a bodyguard as I play very tactically defensive with my masters. (probably why I have Asami, Nellie, Jacob, McCabe, and Lucius).
  6. Graves hits that "cost to value" ratio. He's not terrible but I'd rather have a number of other models in his place most often. I've used him three times so far and only once has he been useful for things other than shoving my own models.
  7. I feel ya. I actually bought my GF some stuff too! Shes been dying for Reva
  8. There are no "Good" factions on a whole. Each one has it's own few masters who have at least some morality or concern in their heart for the right thing. I would say in 10t, the best moral person is Asami. And for guild (my other faction), Lady Justice and Hoffman are the closest to"good" people. Maybe Perdita sometimes. But not Sonia, not Lucius (duh), McCabe is a dirt bag who loved violence and loot. Nellie is also closest to a good person looking to be a trusted journalist! She's just.. you know.. needs funding.
  9. Hungering Darkness cannot have a totem, correct? (When leading a crew)
  10. We did our best. In the end we did the 2nd place ratio but failed everywhere else. We will infiltrate next year!
  11. I played two games on Saturday. Jacob Lynch brought his standard with a sharp shooter for the man. Yan lo clogged a mess with his hard to kill but failed to secure enough points for a victory. Lynch came out by +2 Jacob Lynch, not worn down by an old man and ally of an ally, took to Levi's house to free the child. Gremlin's charged in and scared the child but she remained with a Ten Thunders Brother and a Lone Swordsman for 3 turns of protection. In the end, she fled but ended up Brilliant all the same. Lynch WIN +1. Two very fun awesome games. Very close and long too. Great fun events. Now we wait.
  12. I lost the man (TT vs Neverborn). We forgot all about the CA action issue and I took Mcabe so black flash and take this was used twice but what killed me was just the flips (nothing higher than a 9 in hand and nothing higher than a 11 in opposed flips vs his face card hand and unheard of flips). He played Titania. Titania did a bit in the way of blocking and causing trouble for two turns but casted herself to death. He uses Nekima to do the heavy lifting instead with Illuminated. We both lost our masters due to overcasting (me bad flips cu de grase).
  13. I've considered the Swamp Mother list with Lynch. The main thing to consider with Lynch, I find, is that he is not so much the piece on the board doing all the work and his ace in the hole is icing. Technically, if I never use the aces for a minion ability, I'm still getting use out of increasing my hand size and using them for mulligan hand crafting and defensive or this own suit discard for triggers. That said, I like the swamp fiend option for Lynch and may explore more with some proxies and a friend. Gupps work well with him alone, why wouldn't the mother?
  14. I eneded up using the green stuff to thinly cover it. Works now. The cloth may be next so I don't have to keep doing the green stuff to every large model (Dragons and Brutals).
  15. Honestly? He has a small learning curve so he's great for a first master. I played my first tournament and ended up at I think -2 (after a crushing defeat from Levi). He's very competitive due to the hand control he has and the access to models and support of his crew without being the absolute most important model on the table. For your first few games, I recommend running him with Rising Sun limited upgrade which will allow Hungering Darkness (Huggy for short) to come back into the game after killing an enemy with brilliance. This makes up for some early mistakes and adds a degree of "Do I bother killing Hungering Darkness?" to the opponent. I lost him turn 3 at the start and got him back at the end of turn 3 turning the game to my victory of Pandora. You'll want to play any masters you pick up 5 to 10 times to get an idea of what you're working with. It took me about 5 to 6 games to really understand why I take certain models and learn when to activate. Overall? Competitive.
  16. He was my first master and my favorite theme (card shark yo! Gambit4lyfe). When I picked him up I couldn't decide. So I went with a few choices for neverborn. 1. Depleted are awesome tarpits and a must have for Guard the Stash and other center board holders 2. Doppleganger offers a lot of support/versitility since she can take any ability off of your already nasty models. 3. Tannen and Graves. Tannen is a great utility control piece that can make it harder for your opponent to cheat or interact. Mr. Graves is a solid meat of a man that moves your models or positions your enemies. He has synergy with Tannen in his triggers. 4. Beckoners are a decent model for Lures (pulling models where you want them) but I have been underwhelmed in practice. They look nice and fit his theme however. Another fan favorite are stitched together which are amazing models that some people like to use for the gambler random feel. I will also mention that Schemes and Stones (a malifaux podcast) is a good tool when you're trying to get ideas on how models interact and work. For example they bring up the idea of scheme runners such as Gups, Sulirids, and Terror Tots. Give it a listen and explore. Welcome to Malifaux! Bad things happen... PS: I play Ten Thunders Lynch now.
  17. They do not fit easily. I bought a black metal toolbox from walmart for $15.00 and then used magnets and some greenstuff (magnets were stronger than glue)
  18. My curiosity would be shadow emissary since we are kinda lacking in the avatar area
  19. So I guessmy next question would be; where can I get a cheap metal box easy to carry between locations/tables? My GF is using an old puzzle tin but that lacks a carry handle
  20. I'm thinking about setting them in a standard metal tin but I can't seem to find any worth efforts that are easy to carry.
  21. My main issue for most models is that I have solid bases like Zen and Town Square. These cannot be magnetized.
  22. Hey gang! I have my Jorogumo and they are giving me a huge problem, fragile as nothing else and larger than their bases. How do you transport them and do you have any tips for doing so or where to get transport containers? I use the malifaux bag for almost all other minis but it seems a little harsh on fragile bits like Lucas' whip arm and my guild guards. So how do we transport them?
  23. I have the Retro deck that shows the J as a fancy 11; is this not the case in classic?
  24. I honestly don't always take it in my crews. I like it, sure, but there are times where I find Servant of the 5 as being a little better for me depending on my enemy and the schemes. However, I usually take at least one and it's for Huggy. It's a strong upgrade and many factions now have something similar.
