  1. Barbaros is hilarious with Titania. Behold My Glory gives a condition that the model must discard if they want to attack someone that's not Titania. Barbaros' challenge makes their action fail if they attack anyone that isn't Barbaros. So they have to discard cards for the honor of attack Barbaros. Also Mr. Tannen makes them discard a card to cheat in 6". It makes a real bubble of sadness.
  2. It's a two part episode! We talk about the things in Wave 4 that aren't in crew boxes (or are in crew boxes, but also have their own boxes and are super awesome *cough*Autumn Knights*cough*). The first part came out last week, so I know everyone already listened to it, but for the couple people that didn't, here's part 1: And here's part 2:
  3. If you're looking for things with combat potential, I agree with Siliruids. Stitched Together also make a passable scheme runner - they don't have movement tricks, but they do create their own cover and they're pretty scary to challenge. Insidious Madness are reasonably survivable and can go almost anywhere. Gupps have survivability and a leap to stay alive, but can't do much offensively. I'm really pondering trying to make Bandersnatch a scheme runner - 5ss, incorporeal, 5 walk, can hide in the person trying to kill him. But eh.
  4. Irrational? I'm sorry, did an entire gorram planet invade *your* homeland? In order to *literally* steal the soul from the land? I'm glad to see you came over to the right side. You got good advice. I will say that I am currently almost faction complete for Neverborn, and then I have a Viks crew. So I get your aesthetic completely.
  5. The fact that Primordial Magic is amazing helps too. He hangs out, getting you better cards and then becomes a scheme marker at the end. I think he's worth it generally.
  6. Good luck! I didn't know you half as well as I should like, but you're part of a super cool group, so by transitory property, you're super cool!
  7. Llesh, have you played Titania? You end up with scheme markers all over the place. Saying "if you have them" - you *will* have them. It is a by-product of everything that you do. Your models drop scheme markers while doing other things. If you simply play with Titania and a Knight or two, you'll be generating 3-4 markers a turn without even trying. And Titania is tanky in a "constantly heals in large quantities without spending AP" way. Hence the "If you focus her, she dies." Perhaps "Survivable" is a better word than "Tanky" but I've spent enough time playing RPGs and MMOs to know the difference between a Regen tank and a Defense tank. I'd go on, but 1. you said you listened to 10 minutes, and a lot of the things you are complaining about were discussed in the fullness of the podcast and 2. you seem to have some serious salt against both the podcast and Titania (and NB in general) which I'm unlikely to impact. I enjoyed the podcast. It solidified my thoughts that I have got to get the Rougarou on the table, and took me out of "Well, Lelu and Lilitu can make a great pounce engine for 14" to "Yeah, Rougarou is 8." I still think QC is a trap, but I could see it in an elite crew - if everything on the table is happy to get QC and will be killing, it might be worth adding.
  8. I was going to play a Henchman Hardcore with Bandersnatch, Rougarou and The Claw. It felt so awful. Game didn't actually happen, but I'm still eyeing that 20 point bundle to see if it's worth playing.
  9. Claw's melee action has a range of 2 claw or 8 gun. So you can make him do an 8" range attack too. I am currently locked in on Rougarou with the Knights - with Queeg doing forced 0's, I feel like there's going to be a *ton* of chances to pounce. And he's a minion, so Lucius can also make him better. Also: January Errata included the line "Lucius: The Austringers sent Lucius a fruit basket with a nice card, and now he doesn't hate them as much."
  10. Howdy! Tip #1: Neverborn is best faction.
  11. I'm playing a Henchman Hardcore game this week. My thought is that Candy is still probably the most likely to make people sad. Is there anything that's come up in Wave 4 that would really change that? My current plan is to go with either: Candy +1K Faces (probably to Fears Given Form) Primordial Magic Nekima Depleted/Changeling/Terror Tot But I'm sort of considering being dumb and doing Candy +1K Faces (probably to Fears Given Form) Teddy Bandersnatch Alp/Primordial Magic +1ss upgrade That one makes it harder to get Claim Jump, unless Bandersnatch inside Teddy counts as two? And after a bit of pondering, I'm wondering how dumb this would be: Some leader (Barbaros and Widow Weaver both seem amusing) Rougarou Bandersnatch The Tooth Put the Bandersnatch in the Rougarou. Use the Bandersnatch to pull models in to the Rougarou, who gets a Pounce. The Tooth tries to slow them, and then pushes, triggering the Rougarou's pounce again. The Rougarou can also pull everyone in.
  12. When playing Henchman Hardcore, is your Henchman considered a Master? Specifically, 1,000 Faces can only be taken by "Non-Masters." Can my Henchman leading a crew take it?
  13. Generally, if you're playing for theme and fun, you're not likely going to be the sort of person that reads articles about how to maximize playing a particular master. Writing an article on thematic Lynch would be an interesting exercise, but would mostly be an experience of going through the lore. And I would be surprised to find such an article that didn't title itself "A guide to playing Jakob Lynch for fun (and maybe not losing all the time)" or the like. Also, you go straight from "It's not like this is a character based game where you play stuff that's cool" to "Lynch is trash" - isn't Lynch an interesting character? Is this a power focused game or not? I mean, feel like you want to feel, but bashing someone because they're playing a game to win and don't adhere to a strict theme, especially to the degree of putting words in his mouth, is a bit tonally off here.
  14. Other than the fact that Titania is great, I'm excited to see this box. The Knights are fantastic, and being able to get them on their own is a great option.
  15. Yup. I reallllllly want to make that something scary. Best I've got so far is using the Arcane Effigy's Master buff on Collodi, which gets passed to the Wisp, who then gets 4 attacks, each of which can apply Burning +1 or take a card.
  16. Greetings all! A new, belated, episode of Lecture Notes from the Breach has appeared! In this episode we do a run down of the factions, going over strengths and weaknesses, what to expect when you hear your opponent declare Ressers vs Outcasts, and give you an idea of what the heck is going on! As always, comments, concerns, mocking and arguments (along with bad puns) are welcome! https://soundcloud.com/user-691784316/episode-14-faction-analysis-incorporated
  17. Oooooooooh. I need to spend more time with Changelings. I always think of them as just mini-Dopplegangers but they really work very differently.
  18. Dammit, you're right! I've been taking both, and apparently conflated them. Thorn is still my favorite, even with that.
  19. The Thorn is still my favorite. The ability to ignore armor (offset by a lower min damage), the 3" area to deny interactions, and the push on her attack are all just so good. And in general, I am finding the Knights to be *amazing* for 7ss. They are incredibly tanky for something that's so useful. Hard to Wound +1 combined with 1 Armor means they're very often taking 1 damage from an attack against many things, 2 at the most. The slow aura is just bonus. They are absolutely in the pool of "I have so many awesome 7ss models I need to take!"
  20. She's one of the two that I realized I wanted on review. McTavish is the other. I've never seen a painted McTavish available, and I'm a horrible painter. To the OP, I'd say your best bet is to pull out the unique ones, and I think people would be happy to help you find a fair price. Then for the rest, you can either make bundles or just make a list and price them out individual. Generally, there are a few price points for stuff - each size as a single, and each size that comes in a set of 3. I usually use Gadzooksgaming.com as a general guide for how much something is worth as a one off.
  21. While it's often true that people prefer unpainted models, 1. it would be a deep shame to wipe out an entire painted collection and 2. there are some of us that really only buy painted models (like me!). While there are less of us, we do exist. I go back and forth on the selling as a lot issue. I've had lots that didn't sell, because people didn't want everything I had, and weren't willing to overpay for stuff they didn't want and I either lost a sale or just threw in models for free (which is basically the equivalent of not selling them). I've also had situations where I ended up with a handful of leftover models at the end that no one wanted. I can't say for sure which one worked out better in the end.
  22. Challenge is a 0 action, though, which the Changeling cannot do, right?
