  1. I read the Yodel story with horror...I had no prior notification and just by luck happened to be at home to receive a parcel I wasn't expecting...we used to have just mailmen...now we frequently get people with no kind of uniform turning up at the door out of plain vans and cars handing stuff over...or leaving it on the step....or with neighbors...hope no one else goes through that
  2. @innsmouthresident @Chou Thanks a lot guys...hopefully you won't be far behind me...can't put into words how happy I am with it all....and having been originally staunchly in favour of making up the models myself my very first thought was "glad I didn't have to glue this lot together !"...got the day off so will be investigating in depth
  3. No advance shipping notice BUT....huge box just arrived for me in the UK 😀👍hope all others receive theirs soon
  4. They're five hours behind so guess it's what time they have breakfast before hitting the launch codes
  5. @innsmouthresident @Chou In the same way that I wasn't trying to pick a fight I think it would be fair to say that neither was I trying to play devils advocate....yes there was a recent apology on this site I believe it was , but as I have barely been at home for weeks due to work I can't point you to it....I guess at the end of the day my personal approach remains "it'll get here when it does" as I've waited this long so another week or so is not a deal breaker for me...I can also completely underderstand if others feel differently....I do stick by what I said about Wyrd being really good at trying to put things right whenever they can because aside from this project that has been my personal experience but if you go to the home page where people occasionally post problems they are experiencing then I think you'll find that to be the norm rather than an exception My only worry at this juncture is that we aren't that far off of hitting the logjam that happens with the Postal service over the holidays...should it end up being delayed further because of that then my patience might start to wane somewhat...for now I'm sure we'll get another update soon
  6. @Mr Janje sure....but they have been totally upfront all the way whenever there's been a bump or a snag and only this week gave a fulsome apology for the delay in a way that makes me understand as a customer that problems they have encountered were/are beyond their control....I would hazard that a majority of companies both big and small never go to these lengths to keep customers updated - whilst it may be a while before Wyrd does another Kickstarter I wouldn't hesitate to sign up again as I am sure they now have a comprehensive list of pitfalls to watch out for...just think of the research that went into sourcing a suitable plastic, then the renders ,then actually getting them produced to a satisfactory standard along with the assembly process and packaging...it's a gargantuan task for what is at the end of the day a successful but nonetheless niche company....am in no doubt that it will have been worth the wait once they get here
  7. Good to see your models again....and oh boy ! You got yours ! Mine must be close by then - look forward to seeing what you do with them...love it that the basework has started before the camera came out 😉😀
  8. With all due respect and not wishing to pick a fight at all - that's a bit harsh....in any business things can hit a snag even when it's just a regular day...I lost count of how many Malifaux models I bought but a couple of times pieces were missing...so on what was maybe $15-20 models on both occasions they not only responded to my complaint within hours they shipped the broken or missing parts at a cost far greater than the models value....another time when the Royal Mail screwed up and returned an entire Gencon order without ever notifying me that it was even in the country Wyrd got onto it straight away and put me a whole new order together and reshipped it before the original order was back with them even though the mistake was way beyond their control...service above and beyond like that got me signed up for the Kickstarter....I had no doubt that it would be delivered and although I've never backed anything before I assumed from the get go that it would take longer than expected Sure when I see an unboxing or a model posted I think "when's it my turn ?"...but it's for sure going to be soon and for sure most definitely beyond Wyrd's control....don't knock 'em mate - there's very few companies around that care as much as they do about keeping customers happy 😉
  9. Almost there....ECB Black Ops somewhere in a hub....Cult of Burning Man almost home...
  10. Great sculpts and a helpful review as always - thanks for taking the time to make it
  11. Lovely brushwork and a fantastic looking collection....really dynamic palette...the basing just makes them even better
  12. Check your junk mail folder😉.....I just did and WOO HOO ! It's on its way ! Don't lose hope - it really is happening
  13. Very nice looking model...and a very useful guide to assembly...thanks for taking the time to make this review
  14. There's some serious maths going on there...and some excellent model making skills at work....wow !....Color me all kinds of impressed👍
  15. Wow !!!.....simple as that....just Wow !!
  16. @H4ml3t Thanks...appreciate your reassurance 👍...but....changelings ,doppelgänger, beckoners, depleted ?....it's not just the money it's also the hours and hours of paint time...but even more than that it's the idea of something you have invested in being so radically reconfigured....I can understand that for some, perhaps most, the prospect of such a shake up may be very exciting but for me it just makes me think "hmm....so this time it was Lynch....so who will be next ?"....as a consequence one part of me goes "in Wyrd we trust" because as a whole I have really enjoyed the lore, the stories and most of the models they continue to produce...until now....the other part of me however is feeling far less generous especially as I don't care much for the new card design either...whatever...it's only my personal opinion We don't know an awful lot so time will tell...until then it's still make and paint time😉....and TOS on the way !! 😃
  17. @Chou Joss especially looks great...personally I struggle with NMM and have only tried it on small details so if that is your first attempt then my hat goes off to you as it's very impressive @Caedrus Had time to catch up now....I really like your Desolation Engine - the flesh tones look excellent.....the Guardsmen too very much look the part...I haven't seen the artwork you mention but they've changed colour have they ?....like you I spent ages deciding on a dark blue/green for all my Guild riflemen etc but I'm not stripping them down....and now that Jakob Lynch (who lots of my NB models are based around - so quite a few dollars invested and a lot of hours in painting time) is not appearing as a master in 3e then I think my road into Malifaux may well be coming to an end and will remain forever in 2e
  18. @Franchute thanks for the kind words...took me a lot longer than I initially imagined because I was working on the companion one at the same time to keep the base colours matching...once I finish the other one in September's Challenge I'll try and get a better quality shot of them together.....and thanks for rearranging me to Enforcer as I really enjoy all this 👍
  19. With only minutes to spare I made August so I'm still in the Challenge and with you all....much rejoicing 😁....for September I shall be completing the companion to August's Shikome...if at all possible I'll add something else too...will have to scour the table of shame for a candidate
  20. Sixteen minutes to go and I'm sliding across the line !.....had to grab an iPad shot (will try and get some better ones next month when I shall be doing its companion).....but here for 7SS is one of my Shikome
  21. @Treemonkey Porkchop looks great and blue Lenny makes for a very welcome alternative take on Gremlins @Franchuteyour painting goes from strength to strength - @Viruk got it spot on regarding your choice of palette and subtle tones because that Kentauroi is my favourite of any I've seen @Purple Mist all the time and effort you put into the hoarcat bases was worth it - they look excellent @Viruk quality and quantity- I just don't know how you do it but am glad you do as I always look forward to your models and paint schemes For myself almost a month away from home meant that I was certainly a bit rusty when I picked up a brush again but have put a few hours in and all being well one of my Shikome should appear before midnight to keep me in the Challenge
  22. Some very nice blends and excellent choice of palette make for dome very dynamic looking models...very nice indeed plus the work you have put into the bases helps set them off....I also like the way you have combined neat brushwork with airbrush for some very striking effects
  23. Very nice brushwork indeed....Iove the richness of the blend you got in Serena Bowman's dress and what you did with the skin tones is very impressive as well...already looking forward to seeing more
