  1. If you answer "yes, I should get the armor printed on my card cause you are ignoring it" does that mean if you put a +1 armor condition on your own model am I free to ignore that armor cause it is not on your card?
  2. 1) "Each question is about an individual situation and does not apply to other situations." (not really applicable so feel free to ignore this point. I just love that the devs try so hard, and in vain, to make people remember this sentence) 2) I am NOT ignoring your armor. You are free to use all the armor you have. To WWHSD's type of arguement, if I give you a condition which said "reduce this models armor by -1", would that be 'ignoring' your armor? I'm changing how much armor you have (just happens to be changing it to 0), not ignoring the effect of the armor your have
  3. Full abilities (or at least cards they are on so I can look it up?) and FAQ ruling? I'm not familiar
  4. You are free to use your armor to its fullest with Improved Harness. I cannot prevent you reducing damage with armor, I cannot bypass the armor ability, and I cannot ignore your Armor ability. I CAN, however, remove the Armor ability from your card. "(1) Small Weakness: Until the end of the Turn, enemy models within 6 which are targeted with an Attack Action lose the Armor and Hard to Wound Abilities and Conditions for the duration of the Attack Action." the target has lost the armor ability. They do not have armor. for the duration of the attack it might as not be on their card. There is nothing to ignore if you do not have the ability. the effect, and I would go as far as RAI, is pretty much that it is being ignored. I agree with that though
  5. Right, IF you have armor you may still use it regardless of the other persons abilities. Smell Weakness says you do not have armor.
  6. I agree with @WWHSD on this one though. Hoffman player: "you cannot ignore this thing I have" (cannot ignore) Aracnist player: "are you sure you have this thing?" (lose armor) They have removed it, they are not circumventing (i.e. ignoring it) it. There is nothing to ignore if it has been removed.
  7. (1) Small Weakness: Until the end of the Turn, enemy models within 6 which are targeted with an Attack Action lose the Armor and Hard to Wound Abilities and Conditions for the duration of the Attack Action. Adaptive Armor: Friendly Constructs within 6 of this model may not have their Armor ignored and may reduce damage regardless of any enemy effects that state otherwise. question: does "... lose the..." in Smell Weakness = "... ignored ..." in Adaptive Armor same page now?
  8. nothing higher than HT 4, generally only HT 3 that a model can sit on. It also has to be climbable or have another way to get up there and not the only piece on the field that tall. It is also generally encouraged to before the game make a gentleman/gentlewoman's agreement that some of the vantage point rules will be played with common sense instead of RAW, at which point you will have to agree on what is "common sense". If not it is considered polite to call out you will be playing RAW so both players are prepared for/can be reminded of the... silliness those rules can sometimes produce.
  9. So I've start Neverborn as a second Faction, but not really. I have purchased the Dreamer, Lynch and Pandora boxes in translucent as well as translucent Teddy and the pink Freikorp Trapper (If translucent Amphibious Assault comes out again I'll get that as well). The intent is just to do something new without having to paint anything in casual leagues and/or demos. So... where do I start? All 3 of these masters have limiteds, I obviously have a small model pool and will not be able to do any of the normal tricks (summoning Dreamer is out). Which master do I eyeball in a schemey scenario? Killy? Which models should be the ones I get used to seeing on the table a lot? Thank you for an advice you share
  10. Well, she can summon them. It's that "good" word that gets us held up.
  11. Engulf trigger (built in) on Flaming Halo: "After applying burning, the target suffers damage equal to its Burning condition value and then removes the Burning condition" Not this? (not sarcastic, honest question if I am misunderstanding your point)
  12. I agree firestarter has a time and a place, but he has scored too many VP that others could not have as consistently over my time playing for me to want to trash him for something else.
  13. First purchase should probably be arcane effigy. That thing makes it into almost every list regardless of master because between its (0), toughness for 4SS, and the ability to remove conditions it is just plain good. Internet logic says play Malifaux Child with Kaeris (I personally switch regularly between it and her normal totem) Malifaux Raptors (pre-GG18, have not tried enough GG18 to know about now), Wind Gamin and Union Steamfitter (edit: though looking at this list I compiled there are not a lot of models that don't already have armor so maybe doesn't need to be first on your list) are all also solid universal models. I agree that Carlos is as well and would add Amina as another good henchman. Ramos box will always be a solid pick, though unless you magnetize you'll probably want more spiders as well as mobile toolkit and/or electrical creation to go with him. Plus his box would give you some beaters, something missing from the rest of my comments. the only academic Sandeep will borrow from Sonnia is sanctioned spellcastor, that being said he is a good master so if you want to go for him do it. But be aware you may start needing to expand to get his summon list (metal, ice, wind gamin since you already have fire and poison is in his box) hopefully this might be enough to give you a start and let you get to the point of being able to play and try things out yourself to plan the steps after this one as always, add an implicit IMO at the end of every one of these comments.
  14. to be fair, someone else pointed it out to me, who in turn had dug up an old post that had those links.
  15. Pulled up my goals from the similar thread last year: 1) Learn/focus on the next two masters in my queue (Kaeris and Ironsides) - Success! I played more games with them then my other masters and definitely feel comfortable with them. 2) Hold off on seriously committing to Colette and/or Sandeep until next year so that I can do #1 and still stay fresh with the 2 I spent time on in 2016 - Success 3) Attend at least 4 tourneys - Success! attended 5 different events (one of which was a two day) and hosted another Since I succeeded on everything from last year I guess I can push slightly, ever so slightly, harder for this year: 1) Learn and get painted Colette and Sandeep and their crews 2) Do not forget everything about the Masters I've learned over the last two years (Ramos, Mei, Kaeris, Ironsides) 3) Attend at least 6 days of 50 SS tourneys (not including ones I host) 4) Continue to maintain a 2/3 win record at tourneys 5) Host 2 events Stretch Goal - get Raspy and crew painted (but not necessarily fully learned)
  16. Recharge SS upgrade requires the model to be 4SS or more, of which desperate mercs are no longer. Amina is when an enemy takes an interact within so many inches of her discard a card to get a SS
  17. Yes sir. The 10T guy who won the last Gen Con took one at 7 SS last game of the tourney with Mei (don't know if he played Mei in earlier games or not). I don't have that kind of pedigree but when I play her in Arcanists it was already darn near an auto take for me, now I'm very much thinking of getting a second one.
  18. You're really going to have to fly through all of these if you plan to catch up @Kimberly
  19. Together Fauxever - 1st Anniversary It has been a year since our happy couples got together. Now we come together again to see who beat the odds and stayed together, who have already left for someone else, and what new strangers have gotten together since the last we met. However they got together, we still have a good excuse to hold a party. Save the Date – Sunday, February 25th 2018 Venue – The Source Comics and Games, 2057 Snelling Ave N, Roseville, Minnesota 55113 The Happy Couple - You are only allowed to bring two masters to the tournament, they do not need to be from the same Faction. Which ones you’re taking must be noted beforehand on a hiring pool document. If you are a single Master kind of person just pick a second one and record it as if you intended to play it (Even if your +1 doesn’t show up at an event, you still get to eat their food if you say they did… right?). Disclaimer: This tourney will not discriminate on couples based on race, gender, robotic parts or 'being alive' status. The Guest List - You must create a guest list for your two masters, this is going to be the pool of models that you can hire from at the start of each game. This pool cannot exceed 100 SS of models, this is determined by adding up the printed SS cost of each model in the list. Things you do NOT need to pay for in this pool include summonable models, Upgrades, any mercenary tax for hiring out of faction or any SS you want in your starting cache. You must record this pool of models on the same piece of paper as your two Master choices and bring it to the event. Sample Guest Lists on the following pages. The Invitation - At the start of each round instead of declaring a Faction you will announce the two Masters that are your Happy Couple. You will then build a 50SS list that must be lead by one of those two masters and only hiring the models in your "Guest List" (upgrades and SS cache may be purchased as normal). Your list must be legal in all the normal ways, i.e. you can only take upgrades and hire models from the Faction of your chosen master (with the normal exceptions like mercs). In the case of Dual Faction Masters you must pick one of their Factions when building your list. Center of Attention – Painting is not required on any models from your guest list or any summonable models but it still must be clear as to what model they are (no blank bases or absurd proxies). Since the Masters are the focus of the event they must be painted to a three color minimum (unless they are a LE dayglow or transparent Wyrd model). Over the extended break the player's Masters must be left out so a picture may be taken of each happy couple. Attendees of the tourney will also vote on their favorite using whatever criteria they feel like (this criteria should at least partially be based on the paint job). The best looking couple as chosen by this vote will receive the Center of Attention award. Anyone who only brings a single Master will not be considered for the Center of Attention award, but they will still be required to meet painting requirements. Budget – $10. 100% of which will go to prize support. Gift List – Prizes will be given to at least 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place with an additional prize for the Center of Attention award in the form of store credit. Notes from the Planner – Strategies, Deployment and Schemes can be found later on in this document along with the schedule of when each round will be played. The tourney format will follow Gaining Grounds 2018 in all other ways not addressed above. {link to GG18 incoming} Schedule 10:30-11:00 Registration 11:00-1:00 Round 1 1:00-1:30 Happy Couple Pictures and grabbing a quick bite to eat 1:30-3:30 Round 2 3:45-5:45 Round 3 6:00-6:10 Standings and Prizes And remember, good things can happen too. 20. I got a burning question, does he lava good fight?
  21. Do you want to see it before or after Wyrd vents it's frustration on the defective models?
  22. Thank you Wyrd. For being honest, and for fixing the issue. We love you
