  1. Why did Tara look so sad at a party? She felt empty inside. Rasputinas online dating profile: "Seeking strong, ambitious man, capable of controlling a cannibalistic cult. Immunity to genital frost bite a must." Of all the advise Ramos gave Joss after attaching the mechanical arm, the most valued was "Go gentle at first, or you'll rip your **** off"
  2. Why aren't the arcanist 4ss models as good as they used to be? They're metal jammin What's leviticuses favourite element? Barium What makes this thread entertaining? It's really punny
  3. "specific models" I appreciate the irony. Could you please elaborate?
  4. Focus them down. Go for one model, kill it, move on. Ortegas are an elite crew, so losing a single model hurts them more than losing a model hurts you. I typically take Jacob with 2 illuminated and huggy and go from one guy to the next. They have to put in effort to resist the hit squad so you're free to go for schemes with everything g else.
  5. Correct, Lynch himself discarding he doesn't get it. 12+ cards doesn't seem right.. I too am curious. But yes, it's all about card superiority, meaning you can run anything! Earlier today I ran a tot grow list with 3 tots, a shaman and the grow upgrade on graves. Was awesome. Also remember the upgrade that let's him activate last to draw 2 cards, then pay for blood and final debt. With the aces he collects makes him a power house, and brings back huggy. Also, illuminated. Do the healing flips even if they're full just to flip some cards over and try for an ace.
  6. I'm genuinely curious when was the last time you used 3 teddies??
  7. Yea, typically you'd double lure huggy to get him in the middle of things with his giant engagement, but of course options are worth keeping open. Though typically I avoid beckoners unless the terrain/schemes/strategies demand it. They do a lot of nice things, but shed make a much better 6 stone option.
  8. Just start next to him. It's fine. You're not a summoner, so you really have no need for your high cards turn 1. Spend a high one and get huggy eating face from the get go. Best open ever. Or if you take a beckoner you can always show her the door, then have her lure huggy while getting the auto push. Gets him closer. Obviously only works if you take a beckoner lol
  9. You can use Mr Graves to show huggy the door, easily getting him within his 9" charge threat range. For the main question, yes, brilliance is the icing on the cake. If you get it, great, if not, you're still fine. Focusing on getting brilliance out there is a trap that detracts from actually winning the game. Doppleganger is amazing. Simply incredible. Look at all the different abilities on all your cards, she does them all. Then look at your opponents cards. She does them too. Depleted are great tar pits, terror tots are fantastic scheme runners and a sprinting doppelganger is insane. Graves is awesome mostly for showing the door to your own models. Beckoners are for the lure. Then here's the best bit: Whatever you want! Look to the mercs, look at whatever hitters you like. Everything is good with him as his main thing is card quality. And by having better cards than your opponent, you are able to effectively field anything, unlike other masters that get and edge out of synergy. Jacob runs off quality. Mulligan and drawing 2 extra cards is super, super strong. Apart from that, fears given form on huggy cos 3" range. And rising sun. Just glue those cards together. Being able to drop a huggy in the middle to soak up the hate and get in everyone's way with a 50mm base and 3" range with fears given form. Then once they deal with him, he comes back!
  10. Or, with good positioning, sprint and claim a squatters rights marker. There's always stuff to copy on both sides. I once won semi finals in a tournament by sprinting to the other end of the board, then next turn copying an opposing willies shot 3 times and wiping out Willie and a nearby performer. Obviously that wasn't what got me the vp, but it was the turning point.
  11. While you can, you probably shouldn't. They compete with spider summoning for the high tomes. If you're unsure what to do, a typical ramos turn is walk, arching screen, summon spiders. Or arching screen, arching screen, summon spiders. For early scrap hire a mechanical toolkit, double walk it to 8" in front of joss, have joss charge and cut it in half for 2 scrap

    Mercs

The outcast trapper is a solid sniper, if you're just chasing ranged damage. Cheaper than hans and + to attack. Taelor is always nice to have against summoners. I also really like Lazarus. Good mix of shooting, hitting and tanking. +blasts. If bodyguard is an option, him and Ramos come to mind right away. Between the armor, self heal and ramos heal he's super hard to take down. Also assimilates various awesome things from Ramos, and sometimes the other guy.
  13. Has anyone ever used the ten thunders showgirls with her? Are they worth it at all? The trigger that they can't hit showgirls seems really strong, especially on their big guy. Needing a suit to lure is pretty bad, but a 10inch threat range makes them a bit more offensive than performers for example. Just not sure if they're worth it.
  14. I like taking taelor for it because you're normally going to be versing summoners. So between the free charges, aoe damage, and pushes out of position she's a good investment. No silver bullet, but worth considering.
  15. I too recommend Jacob. Partly for the illuminated, they're important and not sold separately. But also because he's ultra diverse. All other masters have their schticks. Jacobs is cards. He can support a wide variety of crews because his input is making sure you always have more/better cards than your opponent, allowing you to play whatever models or styles you like. Whereas masters like Pandora, while boss, have a very particular play style. Heck, dreamer is raved about because he has a whopping 2. Also, buy doppelganger. Don't question it. Buy it, thank me later. Runs in everything forever. The ultra busted model of the faction.
  16. The metal gamin errata feels a lot more like a ban than an errata. It's like they hate it so much they want it gone, but can't quite bring themselves to actually ban models. So here we are at the next closest thing. As for the shaman, people know exactly how it works, they just want the errata because the way it works is terrible, and they want versatility in their crews. I'm one of them. I'm surprised the lure thing needed to be there. I've never thought/come across anyone who thought it worked any way other than what's written now.
  17. With Jacob ditching two aces just to get them back is pretty neat. Or more realistically, 1 ace and something you don't care about.
  18. Why didn't Nin go to the dance? She had no-body to go with
  19. McMorning walks into the brew masters bar. He's welcomed in and orders an almond daiquiri. Brewie makes one up for him, and happy with the result, McMorning returns time and time again to his new favorite bar, each time ordering an almond daiquiri. Brewie is used to it now and even orders almonds especially for those drinks. Until one day McMorning walks in and the brew master realises he forgot to order the almonds. Sure enough, McMorning makes his order, and with a "sure, no problem" Brewie runs to the back, not wanting to disappoint a regular. Searching around for some left over almonds he comes across a stash of hickory nuts. Thinking McMorning would never know the difference, he mixes up and serves the drink. Taking one sip McMorning looks Brewie straight in the eye and says "Brewie, you sure this is an almond daiquiri?" To which Brewie confesses: "No... It's a hickory daiquiri Doc"
  20. I'm usually very happy taking Lazarus, rusty, and AD (and hodgepodge. Every single list has a hodgepodge). Rusty and Levi both summon abominations, so you're not starved for low cost models. If you're wanting anchors plus more little stuff, mechanical rider is your friend.
  21. Yea, kinda. Like people said it's not the worst thing in the world, but you would need a lot of proxies. I would recommned picking up Jacob for the illuminated, or Lillith for the terror tots. You can still get terror tots on their own, but for the price, just go full box and get an extra master.

    Mimic

Yea, a pretty good rule of thumb: Card text overules rules Can't overules can
  23. Jacob is the Lynch-pin of his crew Ramos was denied a payout by his insurance company-They don't cover electrical fire The hungering darkneses evil plan failed, and he was so sure of his own brilliance What does a Rasputina crew and her top drawer have in common? They both have a mechanical rider
  24. Why did the doppelganger accept the marriage proposal? She can't be shot while engaged.
