  2. This is a very low-pressure, casual 50ss "tournament" mostly designed to get folks who are new to Malifaux familiar with the way tournaments run (and how much fun they can be). JUST FAUX FUN Sunday, February 18, 2018 Giga-Bites Gaming Cafe 1851 Roswell Rd Marietta Ga. 30062 Store Phone: (770) 578-1497 Setup begins at noon when the store opens. 3 rounds, GG2018, fixed faction No entry fee, minimal prizes, maximal fun!
  3. The heck with the Ressers, show me Minako Rei!
  4. Also Kang, if you have a way to help him move around (which the Thunders have plenty of).
  5. Well, it looks like we won't have long to wait...
  6. It's hardly late - I've got almost four months yet. As long as it's fairly flat, that sounds entirely manageable. And the figures will just be what I can fit in a small TableWar case, so eminently manageable - though I appreciate the offer!
  7. Sounds good! I have a bunch of hotel points with Holiday Inn (the one upside of travel for work), so I may end up there. The map made it look like it might be a bit far for a fat man toting miniatures, but God knows I can use a little exercise. Thank you sir!
  8. I'm planning to attend from distant 'Murica! Any recommendations for a nearby hotel?
  9. You've gotten a lot of good suggestions here. 10 Thunders Brothers, Terracotta Warrior (you'll probably only need one, so find someone to split a box with if possible), the Shadow Emissary, Yasunori, Low River Monks, and Katanaka Snipers are all good investments. You'll also get good work out of some models you may already have - Illuminated, Graves, Tannen, and Depleted for Lynch, Woukou Raiders (and maybe a Jorogumo) for Misaki, Kang and the Rail Workers for Mei. That covers the majority of the models I find myself using on a regular basis.
  10. It’s a Malifaux Christmas (or other seasonally-appropriate holiday of your choice)! As part of the 2018 Atlanta Tabletop Reindeer Games, we’re presenting a three-round Christmas (etc.)-themed holiday Story Encounter on Saturday, December 9. Bring a 40-Soulstone Crew and play as many rounds as you like – participating in all three rounds makes you eligible for some special swag from Wyrd Games, but everyone’s a winner! Entry to the Reindeer Games requires either a $5 donation or an unwrapped toy; there is an additional $15 donation for the Malifaux tournament. All donations will be going to Toys for Tots. In addition to the Malifaux, there will be events for Warmachine/Hordes, Magic the Gathering, Hearthstone, a painting competition, painting classes, prize raffles, plenty of tabletops for open gaming, and much more! Not to mention food (while it lasts!). Come have fun, play games, give to a great cause, and help make sure everyone gets to have a merry Christmas (etc.)! Location The Wasteland Gaming 3700 Satellite Blvd, Ste 7B Duluth, Georgia 30096 Schedule Round 1 – 11:00-1:00 Round 2 – 1:30-3:30 Round 3 – 4:00-6:00

  12. The various Conflux Upgrades show as being equippable on their respective Masters as well as the on Emissaries where they belong. They can be chosen even if the Emissary isn’t in the crew, or if it’s in the crew and already has the Conflux Upgrade itself. The app does give a warning on the crew page about the Master not having the necessary characteristic, but it seems like these Upgrades shouldn’t be selectable by Masters in the first place.
  13. Thanks, @Aaron and company - you guys are the best!
  14. Love to have the PDF as always. Unfortunately, it looks like Broken Promises, unlike the previous M2E books, has the stat cards incorporated as images rather than as text, which means that the text of the stat cards isn't searchable in this book. I find the ability to search for terms like "Terrifying" or "Unimpeded" a really useful tool; was this a deliberate change in the way Wyrd is doing PDFs?
  15. Well then, let's get them listed and corrected. If we know what's wrong, we should know enough to make it right.
  16. @Khyodee (of Schemes and Stones fame) has put together a Master Timing Chart on his blog site. However, it is not official and I know there have been a number of disagreements with his interpretation of how some things work. I would love to see an official version of this (hint, hint, @Aaron and company), but for now, it's the closest thing I know of.
  17. This Alkemy figure might make a decent Charm Warder.
  18. Gwyneth Maddox: A chance for me to repaint my Demented Games' Nancy since I no longer need her as an Anna Lovelace proxy. Lotus Eaters: Manu or Mikio or Master Po from Bushido Obsidian Statue: Could use a Stone Golem from Otherworld or Reaper, or maybe a Sessho Seki from Zenit. Charm Warder: Haven't found anything good yet. Maybe take an Oiran and add a mask and a paper lantern via green stuff?
  19. I'm not sure it's that simple. The sequence of events around damaging, dying, etc. is fairly complex; @Khyodee's Master Timing Chart (not official, but has historically been pretty accurate and thorough) have "Passive abilities set off by taking damage" as a step that happens after "Damage is applied to the model" but before "Remove the killed model from the table." This is why Sun Quiang can't use King of Medicine to pick up a Head marker dropped by an enemy that was just killed; the Head marker hasn't been dropped when his effect resolves, because markers are placed immediately before the model is removed. Then it couldn't resolve at all, because if the model has already been removed, there's nothing for Sun Quiang to push toward. General Timing (pocket rulebook p. 51) tells us that "Whenever any Ability happens at the same time as any Triggers, the Triggers are resolved first." We know that "after damaging" Triggers are resolved before the damaged model is removed (p. 26); Sun Quiang's Ability would happen after that, but I don't think there's any reason to remove the enemy model after such a Trigger but before the corresponding Ability.
  20. Sun Quiang's King of Medicine ability reads: Whenever another model within LoS suffers damage, this model may reveal a card from its hand and then place it on the bottom of its deck to push up to its Wk toward the model that suffered damage. If this model pushed at least 3", it may take a (1) Interact Action. The Mark for Death scheme reads, in relevant part: All non-Peon models in this Crew may take a (1) Interact Action to give a target non-Peon enemy model they are engaged with the following Condition for the rest of the game: “Marked: This Condition may not be removed or ended.” Reveal this Scheme once an enemy model gains the Marked Condition. When an enemy model with the Marked Condition is reduced to 0 Wounds or leaves play, gain 1 VP and remove this Condition from that model. This suggests that the following sequence is possible: Sun Quiang begins ~3.5" from Some Enemy Model (SEM). Another Friendly Model (AFM) activates and makes an attack that damages SEM and reduces it to 0 wounds. Once the damage has been dealt but before SEM is removed, Sun Quiang activates King of Medicine, pushes 3" towards SEM, and uses the free (1) Interact action to give it the Marked condition since they are now engaged. SEM dies, leaving play and thus giving Sun Quiang's player a point for Mark for Death. Anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work? For that matter, he could use the (1) Interact action to drop a Scheme marker instead (assuming there wasn't another friendly one within 4") and score Dig Their Graves in the same manner. (He has Don't Mind Me, so he could interact even next to the enemy model.)
  21. Tracking page for the Atlanta (Marietta) conference of the Total Malifaux League (TFL): https://www.facebook.com/groups/1081844208549627/ 6 games played over 3 months; top players qualify for free admission to the finals tournament, which will be held in New Jersey in June 2018. Huge prize support and fun games! Join before the end of August! Regular play nights are Wednesday nights at Giga-Bites Cafe (1851 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30062), but any time and place you can work out with your opponent is fine.
  22. As others have said, the new alt Huggy is a vast improvement and fulfills my #1 wish. I would love to see some new Illuminated, since I really only find one of the three existing sculpts attractive/usable. Beyond that, I don't have any desperate needs, though I wouldn't turn down a new Ototo, Fuhatsu, Pathfinder, or Mei Feng. OOH! Also, whoever that is shown on p. 237 of Broken Promises - presumably Minako Rei? I WANT THAT MODEL.
  23. Would love to see some alternate Illuminated. They are supremely useful on the table, but two of the three models are just...bad. I've built the female Illuminated three times, and none of them have gone together without a ton of filing, green stuff, gap-filling glue, and profanity. And the "dude being eaten by Huggy Jr." figure doesn't look like like a person who's using his addiction for combat enhancement so much as one that has lost his fight and is about to die. Crouching Illuminated Dude is awesome, though. He can stay.
  24. Okay, @Mason, you're subtle, but not subtle enough! On the second page of fluff in the the new book (no spoilers), Perdita says, "I almost envy you, neh?" She uses the word neh again on the next page. Neh seems like a very curious thing for 'Dita to say, since it's not Spanish - it's Japanese! PROOF that Perdita has been a Ten Thunders operative in deep cover all along! Hah! Caught ya!
  25. Pretty much what the thread title said. The new Cyborg upgrade that Hoffman can give out is Rare 3, but there's only one copy in the Upgrade deck. Oops...?
