  1. Cool report, I especially enjoyed the nailbiting initiative flip on turn 2 and the fights around Misaki. Seems that the Oiran's Lure (which most people aren't too fond of) was worth it's weight in gold in this game. Congrats to the Arcanists ...
  2. Usually not a fan of clicking on external links for battle reports, but this time I did, and very much enjoyed the report. Thanks for that. The writing is easy to follow, but I think those top-down pics could use with the names of the models next to them, would make it much easier to follow.
  3. I think in reports where the writer explains some of the thoughts behind certain things, plans or goals, whether they succeeded or not, this comes across. It's usually the very factual reports that just tell you what happened where these things get lost. So don't be afraid of rambling on about these things, is what I'm trying to say ...
  4. Ah, so it was hubris that brought him down ...
  5. 3. Wyrd could deliver assembled miniatures for free to my doorstep. Can't really think of anything else ...
  6. Wow, those shards are crazy cool ... Love them. The Seamussesssss aren't bad, either. But yes, that basing is ... something.
  7. With two peasants you don't need Toshiro for this; both peasants can give give focus to the snipers, who can then shoot focussed twice (with Shen giving out focus for a 0).
  8. Nice report, very comprehensive and easy to follow, thanks. Congrats on the win (what was the plan for the Arcanist's Breakthrough?), looking forward to further reports ... (And it's a real shame so many reports on here get so few comments. It's such a major effort creating these things, so if you read one, have the decency to comment, too!)
  9. Well, for Mastershake there seems to be a winning formula ...
  10. I guess I just messed up too often with just the pistol, doing little damage. And I find there is something inherently satisfying to just win the Ca duel and hold up my hand of cards, telling the other player how many Wds were caused.
  11. I was looking for all rams, but sometimes didn't get any. But indeed, in one turn I got a 6 and a 7 ram, and somehow didn't really think about hanging on to it (might have been the last turn, though), so that's definitely something to keep in mind. *edit: How do I get the symbols for the suits and the minus and plus flips displayed? And is there a list of all those symbols available?
  12. So much depends on not only the master, but also the crew. A Tara beast-bomb is gonna irritate a lot of people and getting Killjoy shoved in your face gets old pretty fast, too. Whereas other lists with Tara might just be fine. Not sure you can even do that tier thing without somehow taking lists into consideration.
  13. I find Molly very annoying to face, for me she'd be tier 3. The fact that she punishes you so hard for keeping so close together makes her almost as aggravating as Sonnia. In general, I don't think there are 'general' fun tiers - these will be very different from player to player and meta to meta. Somebody using Hamelin without the rat engine and with very little Blight? I'm not sure, his opponents will mind that much. Others, like for me Molly, annoy the heck out of me ...
  14. By using the Emissary, you can cram another upgrade in ... For free!
  15. Hey Matt, Moritz here - maybe put in a time as well? I'll try to be there, even though I'm not much of a fan of 35 SS.
  16. But they also get an automatic push when shooting somebody (3"), so effectively they can push every turn (either engaged or shooting) ...
  17. Damn, I actually forgot both those abilities ... d'oh!
  18. Guess I have to change my lists - been using extremely tight lists with only 2 or 3 SS in cache ... :-/
  19. I've played two games with McCabe now, and while I enjoy him tremendously, I'm a bit 'surprised' (didn't really think about it beforehand) how difficult it is to get Black Flash for reactivate going. In most discussions about McCabe people always make it sound like they get this off practically every turn. But very rarely have I the 6+ Ram in hand needed for it. What do people do? Stone of cards? Stone for suit to get it off? Or is just the perception wrong that people get this off so easily?
  20. Cool report, thanks for that, and congrats on the 2nd place ...
  21. Well, seen as the release is in less than a month, I think they would have been produced aeons ago, so I'll assume for now that that picture of the renders is correct. But yeah, can't be sure ... *edit: Had another game with the 'Three Jorogumo' today - McCabe, Emissary, Luna and a hound against Leveticus, Ryle, Librarian, Trapper, 2 aboms and 2 flesh constructs. Strategy was head hunter, which isn't too bad for this list, but the schemes would have really called for more scheme runners instead of the face-beating approach. But I wanted to try the list further, and stuck to it. In the end I won 7:6, mainly 'only' 7 because I read 'Leave your mark' wrong ... Picking up heads proved fairly easy, producing them wasn't all that difficult either. But Leveticus made it difficult for Luna and the hound to do their thing, so I was a bit camped in that department. In hindsight, maybe the Yamaziko list would have been better - just drop Yamaziko in the backfield and drop markers there. Ah well ... But I enjoyed playing the list again tremendously, and my opponent was a bit stunned by their killing power. Dropped Ryle fairly easy in one go, but unfortunately, Leveticus won Initiative three times while standing in front of me! Otherwise my itsy-bitsy spiders would have feasted on him, too.
  22. Sounds like you really want Marcus. He beats face, and he does it himself. So does Mei Feng, but with the stuff you mentioned owning, I think Marcus would be perfect. Purrrrrrfect!
