  1. I guess that makes sense, with the Undead thing? Who even told you to vote Resser, you dirty Neverborn? You saying that just makes me think of Inuyasha I guess reading up on that Futakuchi thing though, it's not exactly the same, that demon-thing in Inuyasha seems almost more like a Spider, but I distinctly remember her being powered by her hair. Oh well, classic anime lulz, although that makes me wonder, because Yan the Penagganal is something I'd practically class into the "Oni" style tree, but I guess I see how they drew her into the "undead" style as well. Yeah I dunno, a lot of those myth things from "greater Asia" seem like they could fall on any side of the fence for a lot of themes, and the only one in Wyrd's property that strikes me as really "traditional" are the Tengu. I guess those Jorogumo things are drawn from actual myths though too, but the Obsidian isn't really, I don't think? Or that Kamaitachi or whatever it's called, is that some magic weasel in Asia? The answer was yes, although I see no connection between the myth and what we got they look like in the myth they are bladed-weasel assassin things. We just got a three-eyed monster that draws more cards, I feel cheated. Although to be fair, looking up the Jorogumo, those were suppose to be women as well (The good ol' "Whore Spider", lol). Really, it seems like a lot of the time the oriental myths just liked to demonize women more than anything. And, if I'm not mistaken (Probably am ), most of the non-female related "evil things that go bump in the night" are typically animalistic instead, I'm not sure I know very many straight up "evil male characters". I guess that some of the historical figures who were extremely prominent have stories of their pacts with evil, or twisted tales of how they rose to power, like some versions of Nobunaga, but it's fairly atypical. I dunno, you probably know more than I do, I don't live in Japan Either way, looks like we'll find out if it's a Gorgon next week, Ressers seem to be keeping this under their thumb for now. I think what they were saying is that, there is an Ability called Thirsty Roots already in TTB? Because the front of that card we just got shown had an Ability called that too (Pretty sure, not gonna bother checking), but the one we were given in Malifaux is based on Scheme Markers, and TTB is.. clearly not, because they don't exist (I assume?) in TTB. If.. that makes sense. Basically they're just saying you can't read a card in Malifaux and directly apply it to it's effect in TTB, and this new Master Preview exemplifies that. EDIT: As an aside, I'm curious about the voting trends, only because I thought Outcast were more popular than they appear on the poll. I know I voted for my favorite faction, because I always pick them first when prompted, but I am curious the motivations of other people, especially with the "spoiled" art for what we assume is the Gremlin thing. Is it like a gift someone told you what's inside? Not as fun to open anymore? Or are people primarily motivated by their favorite faction ties? The only reason I bring it up is because, a lot of people express things they want in the different Factions throughout this thread, but I can't help wonder if the Outcast are being voted for least because.. people who like Outcast don't want anything else, as in, their masters are already the cream of their crop. I guess I'm saying this though, from the perspective (And it's a limited view that I only glean from reading on the Forums and talking to people in chat), but it seems like most people who play Outcast do so competitively, and that they have very solid and leading crews for that purpose. I very seldom hear of people picking up Outcast for their specific "flavor" (Like Undead, or "monsters who live here" or whatever), nor their specific Masters for similar reasons. Is that a thing?
  2. Yeah, for sure. I just think he's more than willing to murder innocent ("innocent") Guild members for.. reallocation of resources especially since he's basically got an "in" and is a trusted source, so that he isn't #1 on the chopping block when they hunt down "zombie making foos".
  3. A time based Master, just after they released TimeBasedOldMan.Dude? I guess, although my normal concept of "time" in games is "take another turn" and that doesn't work as well with Malifaux's back and fourth I guess, all things considered, isn't Tara kind of a "time themed" Master? I mean, she Reactivates herself and gives out Fast and Slow like hoo-ha! Wyrd! Hire this man! No, seriously, that would be a really great twist. I think we all wish the Ophelia crew were able to hire themselves into Guild and turn in official bounties, amirite? Thanks teacher Com'on, I mean, I prefaced my non-sense with "like" But I do know the difference between Gorgons and Medusa (Proper noun), I just didn't realize the name in the story, since I really don't think I've ever read it myself. Only been told (Probably many times at this point) about it on the forums I ain't gonna argue with 10T winning. I'm shocked they are currently (hardly at this point, 92 to 93), especially considering their popularity during Nythera campaign. And more ironically, the model currently seated to take the lead is the only Faction that was less represented during Nythera than 10T I don't know what you're meaning exactly. I mean, Lucius is part of the Guild, but he basically is about killing Guildies, same with McMourning. And between 10T there are plenty of "conflicting interest" between the Masters, like McCabe is just being forced to pay off debts to the Oyabun and Misaki and Mei Feng are on the edge of his tolerance (Which sounds like getting kicked out of the 10T for the most part, or executed ). But what would you want out of this? I mean, just story, or are you suggesting in game repercussions?
  4. Hnnngggg. That model makes me want Neverborn so hard. That is easily one of the coolest models, I severely hope those little things on his base have some meaning beyond "decoration" at some point. I guess they could be the "terrain" he is putting out, maybe the kit will come with a spare set of them to make a single marker But I mean, heck yea Shifting is cool. Jorogumo! I play Misaki way too much (And Last Blossoms in general) to not want teleporting spider-creeps. Probably not too stoked for their models (Probably going to be fidgety like the Aracnids for Arcanist, prone to breaking maybe), buuutttttt still a cool guy. Played him a bit in a small Campaign that didn't last long, but he was a fun dude. The other 10T stuff isn't over the top thrilling, I kind of forget what else there is at the moment. There's the Emissary, which is quite good though I haven't played him, and what.. Tengu weren't Shifting where they? I totally forget the other things
  5. That's actually something I didn't consider. If that's a Medusa (Style creature) how does that work with the story fluff that involves Molly and everyone from Ressers that had the whole "Madusa's Tears" going on or something? It was like some gem they had, from what I understand, and it's why Molly and (Maybe or?) Seamus are alive? Like, someone had this artifact of power and it "resser magic'd" them to life and now they're crazy or something. I should really read the story before talking about this random stuff Maybe someone who knows better could shed light though, it'd be interesting if those things were connected. Uhhhhhh yah! Just imagine, like the classic bad-guys from all sorts of shows (And history of course) who have the magic Ink Well & Brush, where they draw any art and it comes to life or something? You're probably talking about something different, but that's what you made me think of, and I think it sounds sweet I'd love to see a master like that. Perhaps a sculptor would be too close to Collodi though, with him being a puppet maker of sorts? Yeah, I am really curious what those are, because they definitely don't look like fingers, which is sort of worrisome Because they could be fingers, just extremely creepy looking ones
  6. All I'm sayin' is, if there's gonna be an "Oni Master" out there, I don't want it to be "Some old cat lady with weird hair"
  7. Anyone else get the feeling that one he has labeled as a Gunslinger sort, he looks like.. ..it looks like he has those weird ears like Shrek, could he be a green monster from swamps?
  8. Yeah, I think I heard she was a Fae from someone. Definitely Neverborn
  9. I didn't say my idea made sense, it just looked like that to me Wouldn't a Drunken Monk be in some "falling over" stance rather than a bad-ass looking crouched battle pose? Maybe I don't understand Drunken Monks enough.
  10. Realistically, and I have no information about how Wyrd intends their game to run, but phasing out masters and creating a sort of "Format" style play system, where there is something like: "All in": Where any models with ME2 are legal (Maybe have a banned list if there are issues). "Middle in": After enough releases, there would be a middle ground. and "Now in": Where maybe the last 2-3 years of models are "current" and in the format. Essentially treating a tabletop game like Magic the Gathering. So they can more tightly control the combinations for the most promoted tournament style, and alleviate some of the big issue of designed models having impact on older things in ridiculous ways. Don't say people can't play them, but if things continue to be released, eventually things will get wonky, or unforeseen combinations will crop up which break things. And I'm personally of the mind that they should never stop releasing the "big" models like Masters, because they drive the game so much. So it wouldn't be the same as "phasing out" entirely, IMO, it would just be like how Magic the Gathering releases things at a steady rate and keeps them in control at the same time. It's better than PP's idea of releasing "Theme bonuses" for paired Warcasters since you always bring 2 lists, and effectively just making those list more powerful for a season but doing nothing to address other issues. _____________________________________________________ As for the art, stoked. She actually looks like she would fit in well with the new "Asylum" models with her raggedy clothes They aren't really Fae though, if she has some shtick or something though. But I do really have hopes for the theme (Fae) and the model looks great. More importantly though, the third silhouette from the left looks like it is wearing a samurai hat and holding a feather in its left hand (right for us, it's facing us). Maybe that's just me though, I just thought it looked weird Of course if there is a vote being tallied, I vote 10T, how could I ever not vote for my favorite faction?
  11. Damn design team learning from our exploitative nature. On the other hand, Yan can still stab Izamu in the back and just wave it off for Chi
  12. Yes, as with any "copy" ability, you simple do a new duel (Opposed or Simple, based on what would be normal for the Action) by flipping a new card. The Ca will be the Action's listed Ca, ignoring if Yan Lo has any Chi on him. However if for some reason Sensei had Chi, he would add that to the Ca to cast. Compare him to the Malifaux Child in the Outcast section of the core book. He does a similar "copy" action, but specifically instructs you to reduce the value of the cast.
  13. Well you know what they say. Any sufficiently talented painter is indistinguishable from insane. That might be a misquote. Point is, you just gotta want it, and you can go insane too. I don't know that anyone can argue against this, it is objectively 100% correct. I hate gremlins, and I love that thing.
  14. All of Mei Feng's regulars (Rail Workers and Kang) have at best smocks on, I guess they get hot working the Foundry. The Thunder Archers are basically shirtless, with more freedom granting loose garments. One of the three Thunder's Bros is shirtless as well as one of the Illuminated (The one with the big thing attached to him). The Tengu likewise are more shirtless than not, and arguably masculine in their pectoral region. I mean, realistically they don't dominate the subject mater, but since I more strongly associate the vision of Sensei Yu and Shenlong to the faction, as appose to random minions from a faction, the imagery of shirtless dudes sticks with Ten Thunders.
  15. There is absolutely no way I could possibly rebuttal this, SO I AM GOING TO START SHOUTING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND ! Naw but seriously, Gremlins don't have noses! That can't be good, although Rami is possibly one of the best models in existence, for the miniature (miniature) pig hanging from his gun stock. And Shenlong, even without painting say, tattoos or something egregiously difficult, is just wonderful looking. Just painted in a simple (well shaded // highlighted) way, he is.. really nice. I actually really love @Agent of the Breach's version, which is quite simple, but wonderful looking. I don't think you have to jump the proverbial gremlin-mounted-rooster to make amazing concept or art. Just because it's "been done" doesn't mean it isn't an excellent example of the art.
  16. That's like saying that Shenlong or Sensei Yu don't look fantastic. Both of those models are basically blank canvases, and they are both amazingly beautiful just by sculpt. Speaking of which, I see how people are confused here, it looks like the Ten Thunders seems to have a monopoly on "Sweet looking Shirtless dudes"™, and I can definitely see the connection here. I heard you made him an Arcanist because he was too good, and Ten Thunders already had too many amazing models. Is this true? That's honestly the first thing I thought. "Daisies.. what is even going on here?" Hopefully they aren't imprinted on his skin so you can paint them in easier
  17. Well, one way or another, everyone is working for the Ten Thunders, in the end. You can't simply escape their machinations Brilliant! If they make their models harder to assemble, it might just drive down their popularity so other factions can compete in the world event! I am interested to see how well those wisps of fire translate into render // the model. If it looks half as nice as the art, or god forbid this guy comes out in translucent plastics somehow, I imagine them being amazing looking.

    She is alive

What did you use for the trails of magic energy, if you don't mind explaining? It looks almost a bit transparent, but I can't quite tell.

    Wyrd science

That's awesome. I love her curled hair, super nice looking, and clearly a lot of hard work put into converting her. Fantastic job. Does that mean this whole thing is 54mm scale?
  20. It's like straight out of a movie.. or something
  21. Is he a Dark Elf now? That blade looks pretty wicked.
  22. I feel like I've learned a lot thus far. And I really like Yan Lo, although I don't play nearly as much as I would like to, so unfortunately I have very few games under my belt with him. I really need to get the print on demand cards for him, my FLGS was still carrying Yan Lo from 1.5 when I purchased him, so I don't have his cards currently , plus that page of my Crossroads book is falling out, so it's a pretty rough state when I play him and keep flipping pages to reference things. But I like all these tips for the most part.
  23. Breaking the habit probably isn't a bad idea, but I do it. I typically rinse the brush completely, and lick it to a finer point before drawing paint and applying it. But I imagine I am ingesting at least some of my craft supplies in the process, even if I am washing the brush just before I lick it each time. And I don't lick it every time, but whenever I notice the tip is getting more out of hand than I want I tend to resort to my tongue as the solution. I am certain I could do the same by another means, but oh well. Better than air-brushing without proper ventilation, I'm willing to bet.
  24. Brutal. Joss + Langston are both powerhouses. I have never seen Old Major, but from the report he certainly doesn't seem like he brought quite as much to the table, and the wild boars unfortunately did not present too much of a problem to them either. Add in Ramos being annoying and summoning, and that seems like a fairly mismatched set of crews . Which is a shame, because I rather like Ulix, but it probably also has to do with 35ss, which can certainly be rough. I don't really know all the Gremlin things in the game, but seems like a similar list but led by Wong would have done better, just due to Ooooo Glowy, or whatever that Ability he gives out is called, which basically ignores most defense Abilities? Would have helped against Joss anyways. Also, reading the Engagement section of the rules, it looks like you did play that part where Ulix convinced Old Major to charge wrong. It simply says Engaged models can not charge, although by the looks of things it didn't end up helping too much .

    Dedication

That's a shockingly quick turn around. Do you play on such a frequent basis to have needed to buy a crew immediately after finding out it was stolen? I'm not trying to knock the situation, but I feel like I would be in a bit more dismay than to turn around and buy back into a crew. At least I feel like I'd take some action to at least see if I couldn't recover said items, before dismissing the possibility and trying to start over. Interesting mindset, I'll say that much.
