  1. Hiya Conrad, Could you add Mr Marshall and Spoons to the list please and put Lee and Pete down as maybe's please? Thanks Matt
  2. *goes to make a cup of tea for everyone, brings the biscuits just in case* Yep they are combo's easy to grasp, and if people want to focus on specific styles with specific masters... They are great. I personally like having 95% of guild stuff (anyone got a spare metal brutal effigy?), but most like getting a collection of masters from different factions as the game (commendably) makes that easy to do. I personally can't think of any other models which have the same style of buff as hold this and el mayor. Hence if I'm going for the most 'guild' guild models, then two with unique mechanics (and happen to be quite flavoursome fluf wise as well) are going to get picked.
  3. If I could find a proxy for her then I probably would use her quite a bit, but I don't want to buy the Pandora box because.. That's a dark path...
  4. If you want to increase lead lined tannen lols.... Have a guarfdian follow him around giving him protect with the mend trigger... Ok that is 16 as but it is quite funny * not that some one just did that to me or anything*...
  5. Trixie always needs to come with an ample amount of brown bags to puke in... If only Pamela Anderson was that useful in real life
  6. Count me in as well please. Let's get the tanelorn spoon in play for me to win....
  7. Graves and Tannen would like a word with you... By the back door... Now...
  8. I think its the speed thing really... It could be great for taking and holding markers or areas but can't get there in time. Nimble instead of a points drop?
  9. The guardian is the only model I personally consider needing a 1 ss drop in cost. Either that or at least speed 5. Its stuck a bit for a purpose. * To get maximum benefit it needs to be on a def 6+ model. Any lower and its usually too easy for your opponent to cheat higher than the benefit of defensive stance +2 allows. * most of the targets where such a buff would be great are quite fast, so the guardian needs to walk, walk protect. * simply getting as def stance +2 for a card (potentially if you want two models or don't want to fail) and 8ss feels too much, even when attached to a total tank of a minion. I guess I also look for offensive pieces in guild for area holding. 'Best defense is a sharp offense' and all of that. Hence why I would look at Franc and Sidir first, or even take from the other end and take a lawyer and rain de buffs down on them. Thoughts? Tried taking it several times and it never really achieves either being a tank or a buffer for a high priority target
  10. Yeah Ortega love! Personally Abuela is a real lynch pin of my crew. I also find watchers handy for scheme running and also giving an additional boost to shooting. Brutal effigy is also nice. Main proble with most of those is that they are out of production but you can proxy for now.
  11. Lone marshal should be able to flank then push shoot, push back, but if you have them... This is a scenario perfect for austringers and I hardly use them. Personally I quite like a peace keeper or an executioner or even graves with Lucius. Walk twice forward and then what lackies are for can be great. Thing to remember is that they are a counter attacking piece so don't leave them to far out. The other counter to the forests is of course lady justice with last sytand if you are willing to try that
  12. Look forward to the blog Tim. Love your style of writing and always show it to people interested as I think it captures what it's like playing a new (ish) game perfectly.
  13. Not as much as I first thought. The threat of it though does lead the opponent into quite a few contortions
  14. I have. Ignoring triggers is ssssoooooo sweet...
  15. Can I be put on the Reserves List please? Matt Cole. Anything else you need then please let me know.
  16. Awesome as always. I love your writing style. Makes me laugh a lot.
  17. One thing to remember with the exorcist and the executioner... Not many models in guild ignore triggers. Exe's ignoring these is golden, and whilst I've only used exorcists a couple of times there ability to make people undead then sit within 3" was a big help. Main thing I like with mcM is to keep him slightly behind the lines giving out precise and pushes... And then when a target appears or I need healing I send him in. If I am going to expunge someone, I'm only going to do it with plastic surgery has been taken so I can use rancid transplant to build the poison up - possibly running so e of my expendable stuff in to take a bit of damage. To intensive personally with infect and stoning for extra crows. Can use nurses for 8 poison but I quite like using zombie chi wawa's expunge for that as people don't we it coming lol. Also I find he is a bit squishy. Wp 5 meant last game I played he spent more time paralysed then doing stuff! Really don't want to use the frank crutch but beginning to find it irresistible.... Anyone else found some good stuff to keep the doctor going in that way? Amen to nurses being great, but I love also taking stalkers, handlers and Hopkins if I can get them in. Also nothing annoys people more then fully healing the peace keeper between nurse and a stalker, then pushing them in to flurry with mc mourning....
  18. Threadcromancy ? In a Doug thread? How have people found these tactics a year on? My main challenge with him is keeping him on the table away from combat so he can invest in giving people precise and interacting. Will power 5 makes him a subject for so much abuse. Saying that, Palerider pushing and placing a scheme, then pushing and placing a scheme is always awesome. Let's keep the Doug train running! Toot toot!
  19. Hello, Just to introduce myself .... My name is Matt and I’m part of a fantastic Wargames Club called Tanelorn in East London, UK. Going for over 15 years, we are based in Leytonstone and are only a minute walk from the Underground station. We play all sorts admittedly but I am totally smitten with Malifaux so thought this was a splendid place to post lol. Why I am posting here today? Historically we have always meet once a week on a Sunday (currently 2-6 with once a month a 12-6 session), but from 19th March 2015 we are going to be trialling an additional night of wargaming goodness fortnightly on Thursdays from 6.30 to 10.30. Interested? More details about the club can be found here. If you would like to come down and generally see what we are all about then please feel free to just pop in when we are meeting, but if you want to get cracking on the wargaming side, then please register on our forums and post in the relevant thread on our ‘organise a game’ thread. Of course feel free to post anywhere else you would like. If you run into any difficulties registering, or have any other questions, then please email me at mattc<......Remove..Spam…Blocker......>@tanelornwgc.org or if you prefer message us on twitter @TanelornWGclub . Thanks for reading, and if you can make it, it would be great to see you there! Matt

  21. Hi all, Just another reminder to sign up and get your money in if you have not done so already. Any questions then just let us know.
  22. My main problem with them is... They are a great all round cheap model, but work better in a horde but not as good as hounds. I would rather take 3 hounds rather than 2 guard even for the extra point. Riflemen though with their force projection are sweet. My real fave at the moment though are sergeants and pathfinders from the guardsman side.
  23. I do like to take certain masters for certain strategies, but I usually have one for a 'killy' scheme pool and one for a 'marker' scheme pool. For example Sonnia is my 'killy' and Lucius is my 'schemy' for Recon. This mainly due to having all of the masters bar Hoffman, and 90% of the models for Guild. I only play Guild so really like to play most of the faction quite regularly. Saying that, if I don't know what I am facing then it Perdita as I love the family's gun fu. Especially when Abuela gets Franco into position via your fight is with me and then he flurries
  24. I always liked death marshalls, as unimpeded on them is golden. I usually choose between them, hunters or Pale riders if I need people to hold markers in an area. You just shoot the main damage 3 people right?... I have two, if I really need more I can run hunters
  25. Only way to avenge is sign up with someone else and show them what the consequences of betrayal are....
