Off the top of my head, outside of mercs, the only immunity to horror duels in arcanists is frozen heart. And kaeris without pushes!?! Heresy!

The only problem with the Rail Golem's Vent Boiler is that there's no rule that allows a model to relent on a simple duel. So if you use this and happen to flip a high card for the model's walk duel, you have to cheat a low card to fail it. It can SERIOUSLY drain your hand quickly and heavens forbid you actually have a GOOD hand You'd be surprised how often I've had to succeed a simple duel that I would rather have failed.

As others have pointed out, the wings of fire is FANTASTIC with a fast crew. I tend to take a very mobile crew with Kaeris for that reason and always use the Grab and Drop upgrade (personal preference). Usually hand out burning with the Malifaux Child, but Kaeris, The Captain (trigger), or the miner (or Cassandra's Understudy if you're REALLY desperate) can do it in a pinch for extra. I tend to avoid doing the burning giving with Kaeris if I can because I don't like how it forces me to activate her and then stay within 6" of those models for them to activate. In the game I played last night against Viks: Strat: Turf War Schemes: Entourage, *Breakthrough, *Protect Territory, Murder Protege, ALITS 50 stones Kaeris -Arcane Reservoir -Grab and Drop -Seize the Day Malifaux Child Cassandra -Practiced Production Freikorps Trapper The Captain -Patron's Blessing Performer Union Miner Malifaux Raptor Crazy mobility through just plain fast models and all the extra pushes and I was spitting out scheme markers like I was playing a colette crew between wings of fire, the union miner and practiced production (which is also pretty stupid, in a good way, with raptors It's the kind of list that asks a lot of questions of your opponents trying to deal with it and also has a lot of answers from pure utility. I can't speak for Purifying Flame as I can't even remember if I ever bothered to try it... maybe in my very first game with her

My recollection of the last black friday sale had the transluscent/dayglow sets for sale as well as miss terious (for $25), the carver ($27.50), and the limited silver(/foil) fate decks. Santana was added to orders of $100+ and Alt. Perdita was added to orders of $250+ And much like gencon, several plastic sets and the small rulebook were available ahead of official release. Not sure if I'm missing anything else of importance.

Ordered once and went through similar things. Took 3 months before I saw any kind of update on the status with no response to any emails I sent them prior to that time. On top of that, they apparently sent my order to someone else (in ontario canada or something) which I only know about because the guy who received my order emailed me and someone higher up in that organization to tell us both. He was kind enough to offer to ship them to me at his expense, but I flat out told him that I already accepted that AD had basically stolen my money and they should be the one to fix it, not him. (They've done nothing and I expect that to remain the case). There is nothing good to say about them. AVOID!

I just plunked down $200 on ebay for her. Seeing the standard sculpt for her made doing it feel a lot less painful... She might go down in price even there as more show up but I decided to just drop the cash so I wouldn't have to think about it anymore

She was (still is really) in all the Somer crew boxes at my FLGS. They have a silver emblem "exclusive model inside" thing on them. Based on the original announcement for her (WAY back when) it seemed like there might be a chance she'd be in other crew boxes, but then the follow up story and clarification seemingly put the kaibosh on that. Definitely hoping she'll be available in more (varied) places going forward; I don't know if my heart can take buying any more gremlins!

Wasn't there already an arachnid swarm box with one swarm? Could have sworn I picked it up with the ramos box during black friday... Are these arachnids any different (aside from coming 2 to a box)? Maybe better scaling??

Excellent! Really psyched to get a 3rd style of mat for another table! These mats are absolute champs for travel mats!

MythicFox probably has the right idea (at least that I can think of) for a consolidated pool across masters. Ramos, Kaeris & Mei Feng all have great synergy with a lot of the other's "theme" models. Out of the box sets, the spiders tend to be mostly best w/ Ramos but Mei Feng makes good use of them (but generally has better options with metal gamin and rail workers). Rail Workers themselves are just great models that work decently with all 3 masters. Howard and Joss work great in all those crews (and more). Gunsmiths can take obvious advantage of the burning theme in Kaeris & the sub-theme w/ Mei Feng. Union Miners are fairly good schemers that work well with Kaeris and Mei Feng. Mobile Toolkit could find a place in any of the crews if they're construct heavy (which all of them can easily be). Metal Gamin and the Rail Golem work well (though especially in Mei Feng and Kaeris respectively). Mech Rider is a great model in general. Soulstone Miner is also execellent in all of those crews. Coryphee can get an honorable mention as well. I haven't run the numbers but that's probably getting very close to 100 stones with a decent amount of versatility Just spitballing really. With Raspi you're going to primarily be looking to run only Frozen Heart and while some of her models are nice in other crews and the occasional non-Frozen Heart model is *so* good that it works w/ Raspi as well, it's not quite as versatile in the mix. Marcus can be *sort of* the same way with his cross faction beast support and the like, though I admittedly have the least experience with Marcus (and Ironsides) out of all Arcanist Masters.

I know that feel (w/ gremlins). I've got the somer box cuz of johana, but my gut reaction is to just try and give the rest away. On the other hand, I could paint them up for use as a demo crew (not that I don't have enough to paint already!). I do think maybe my anti-gremlin feelings are a bit of a hold-over from 1.5 as they were just kind of a joke. In 2E, they're still funny but they are *no joke*. I already gave away my Wong model, who I loved in 1.5 for handing out magical weapons as a merc (and I actually really enjoyed his fluff)... I could see myself *possibly* picking up Wong's crew box when it releases and now with the nightmare whiskey golem that I just *have* to buy... I may be doomed.

registered for the singles and story so far. considering the hardcore event, though if I do that, I'll probably register onsite. definitely bringing arcanists and it'll *probably* be raspi and kaeris. ramos + brass + creations are next in my paint queue and I have collette and crew all painted up but I doubt I'll get enough games in by the end of the month to hash out either of them for tournament play. if I play in the hardcore it'll probably be w/ joss cuz... joss I've got my fingers crossed that there will be a bit more variety than @ adepticon this year (wasn't *super* mono-crew/faction, but wave 2 was brand new and maybe the local meta there played a role). based on what I've heard so far, it already seems likely that it will be

aha! but that only leads to a follow up question... Will registering in the Malifaux Events get us a guidebook or is it like the "program" at a live sporting event (have to buy it separate)?

So... any idea when the guidebook with that snazzy new cover will be available for download? Also, any major changes from the draft primer currently available? or is it a different sort of document?
