  2. Sad news. I've been saying for years and still believe that M2E is the best, most well designed miniatures game I've yet encountered; An aspect I attribute to you in large part. Thank you for this wonderful game along with all of the others that have made it as large and successful as it has been. I hope you'll still be coming out to NOVA at the end of the month and that I'll see you there All the best in your future, no doubt extremely successful, endeavors.

  4. I'll be running demos in the store Sunday, February 28th starting around Noon until close at 6pm.
  5. I've been collecting the game for just over a year but only recently started playing "decent" games of it. The biggest early problem we had was that in armies of just starter forces + some extras, the game is super random and objectives feel impossible so most games came down to kill points. Once everyone started playing at least 1500+ point games with varied forces (and learned the value of taking loads of infantry), everything started to click much better. I like the game quite a lot. We didn't really know better at the start, but you *might* be able to mitigate some of the randomness in early, small games by limiting the number of large sized buildings and placing most objectives in smaller buildings (possibly on a board smaller than 4x4). The negative comment that rings the most true for me in previous replies is the cost though. It is high. The cardboard terrain packs that they sell are plenty adequate for playing the game so long as you don't mind the fact that they're printed cardboard and I don't have a problem with scenery being a barrier. The FFOR army builder is also very helpful (once you learn its quirks) since its printouts include all of the units statlines and abilities. http://www.dzc-ffor.com/
  6. Odd for Arcanists, but Sue. I always liked him in theory, but his cost was just enough to keep him out of lists due to the in faction models he competes against. When I finally started taking him, I fell in love with his crazy versatile (and super damaging) guns, ruthless, bonus occasional burning and Hurt is just *fantastic*
  7. Pretty much the same here. The fragile pieces I store on shelves in my big minis cabinet and the rest go into those storage bins with drawers. Transport is in big plastic container bins with bunches of plucked foam (saved over time in a giant trashbag) to help keep things protected. I always pack them fairly loosely so that the flexing of the container during carrying/transport doesn't squeeze things into breaking. I'm seriously considering ordering some raw foam and custom cutting some pieces for my more expensive/fragile things like 4ground buildings and the like. Was talking with a guy at my shop who has a line on how to get a hold of that but I haven't got the details yet. I'll update if/when I learn more I will say that I haven't found the plastcraft stuff to be very susceptible to breakage. Superglue bonds so strongly with the stuff that it's pretty solid. I haven't put together my pre-colored stuff to see if the hold is different on the colored surface or if the painting there is susceptible to scratching though. Probably not as helpful as you would have liked; Sorry about that
  8. I'll be running demos in the store Sunday, November 22nd starting around Noon until close at 6pm
  9. Thanks again to everyone who came out and contributed to making this a fun and successful tournament! Attendance was a bit lower than I had hoped, but we had 10 alsome Malifaux players come out. The final standings, for those who are curious, were as follows: Andrew K [Resurrectionists]Sebastian P [Gremlins]Mark H [Gremlins]Matt S [Resurrectionists]Will M [Resurrectionists]Mariah K [Arcanists]Matt K [Neverborn]John H [Outcasts]Justin P [Gremlins]Travis P [Arcanists]Best painted went to Sebastian and runner up to Mr. Matt Stanley. Games and Stuff successfully defended their title with an average score of 6.3. Team Dream Wizards came in second with an average score of 5.0 and took home the Secret Weapon Tablescapes tiles for their store
  10. I can see the playground (only) and when I click on it it I get 4 topics. Also still have access to the event subforum. Is this normal or no?
  11. I've done exactly what you you describe, only using blue tack rather than glue to preserve the card. It does make the card bulge a little, but is perfectly acceptable (to me). Previously, I would put little notes in the corner (and still do that for some models like arachnids). For instance, my metal performers, one painted green and one painted blue, have the letter B/G written in the corner of the sleeve they're in. My silent ones have the same thing for the color of their pants. The arachnids have little codes based on the sculpt (old, alt, new) and base type (secret weapon urban ruins, so steps, dents, corner, etc.) so OC would be old sculpt on the street corner base. Used to do the same thing with my gamin before I printed the old pictures (based on the pose and the like). Just something that's worked for me *shrug*
  12. Fair enough, I didn't really go into details with those. Gaining Grounds is a very useful framework, but I'll give my standard event exceptions (which you've mostly already hit on): 1) I'm not requiring painted models. There will be a prize for best painted to encourage painting. It's a good prize. 2) Yes, Wave 3 is absolutely legal. 3) If you have proxies/conversions, get to the event early and get them approved by me. If an official model exits, regardless of whether I approve, if your opponent is uncomfortable with the proxy/conversion you should have the official model ready to play in its place (this is rare, but important to note). If no official model exists and I've approved it, it will be legal to play. Yes this applies to models that had metal sculpts that are difficult to acquire now (silent one, stitched together, dead doxy, witchling handler, etc.).
  13. The last round of the regionals was back in June of this year to give you an idea of the frequency. Hope to see you at the next one though!
  14. I'll be running demos at the store Friday, October 16th starting around 5:00pm.
