  1. Really great idea and great job, Jotun.
  2. Greetings Friekorpsmann, I don't live in Ontario anymore, but hope you find some people up there. Out of curiosity, where is K-W? Cheers
  3. I'm a bit east of you in Lafayette/West Laf., Indiana. We have small group here that plays at least once a week in town. I'm the local henchman, so feel free to hit me up for info any time you can make it over.
  4. Good call, Ferossa. I happened to be in a craft place today (Michael's) and came across very small mirror pieces. I think they were less thick than normal mirrors, maybe 1/4" or 6 mm at a guess based upon memory. There were rounds, and square mirrors as small as 1/2". If this is still too large, you could grind it down to size. Not everyone has a glass grinder though. Wierdly enough, I do have a wet grinder for glass in the garage. I'm in a generous mood, so Jotun, if you think this won't be too thick, you can PM me your coordinates and exact dimensions of the mirror you need and I'll try grinding one down and sent it over. I think it will be too thick to look right, though.
  5. Also eagerly awaiting release of these. For a new puppy, we can wait a few days---as long as it isn't like that infernal mutt hanging around McCabe. I will mail dog treats if you include an Arcanist marker that says, "Hey, I'm on fire!"
  6. This would look great, except that the thickness of the glass layer will be way off scale. Maybe use a chrome spray paint on the mirror object?
  7. Carver arrived today, and it is a great, great mini. Detail is fantastic. I put those little crows under the microscope and they still look great. Can't wait for the primer to dry. Thanks Nathan and crew for getting these shipments out, and for getting down into the weeds to keep us up to date. Happy holidays.
  8. Glad it worked, Ausplosions. There was a tiny check box kind of buried in there that you had to check, which just said you were okay with the delay in shipping.
  9. Thanks, Aaron! I've been wanting to get this for the Carver story encounter, to try it out with the group here. 1 hour and 27 minutes until Monday, and I'm already happy with the items up this year. Okay, let's get this week done and get to the ordering.
  10. Hi November. Ramos can be a lot of fun, but you need some good support models. The steam arachnid used to have magic extension (correct name?) and be able to fire off Ramos' electrical fire. To tell you the truth, I haven't used it much in M2E, so I'm axiously waiting to see what the Arcanist experts say about it. To keep the scrap coming, use support henchmen and/or beat-sticks that drop scrap when they damage models, even if they don't kill them. Joss comes to mind, as I use him for this a lot. He has the additional benefits of dealing out good damage and being difficult to remove from the board. You can also take the electrical summoning upgrade and get those floating bombs moving in round 1. Then you can do some damage and generate some scrap, or if you get too impatient, just use Ramos to blow them up.
  11. I finally put some paint on the stripped down raven terrain. The problem now is that there is very little detail on the cast, so my sorry painting skills are really going to start showing. But, I'm still happy with the scale and size of this as a small terrain feature, especailly for $1.

First base coat on the crows terrain. No real detail on the cast, so not sure how well I will be able to make this look.
  13. Agreed. Miss Ery was surprisingly easy to assemble. But now you have me wanting to pave the carpet before my TT archers arrive. :-)
  14. West Lafayette Rapid Growth achievement league at the Sage's Shoppe, 1009 W. Sagamore. Tuesdays starting at 6:30 PM on Nov. 18, and continuing over 4 consecutive Tuesdays. PM prof_bycid for details.
  15. Regional tournaments would be great! A few of us up in the Purdue area would gladly drive around for this---Bloomington and Indianapolis are next door, and I'm through them once in while anyway. PM'ing you now about a new achievement league starting next week. Ditto to Dexy---let me know if I can be of any help with an event.
  16. Thanks for the tutorial video. A follow-up question that came up in a recent game. A shooty outcast model was on vantage point terrain and I had Ramos on flat terrain 3" below and about 6" out from the base of the vantage point wall. The outcast was just within 2" of the edge and was a 2" model. Therefore, if Ramos was directly in front of the wall below the outcast model, they would have line of sight to each other. But what if Ramos was, say, 5" to the right of this point but still in front of the wall. Is the line of sight maintained because the outcast model is within its height of the edge somewhere along the edge, or is line of sight lost because the line between models now passes through >2" before hitting the edge? If this is unclear, I can make a diagram to post with the question. Cheers,
  17. Great idea, Omenbringer! Why didn't I think of that when I was building a table? Paradox storm, you could also build in some small shallow shelves that run along each player side---that's what I did, and have room for everything.
  18. BaronB3, where did you see the box sets? I didn't see anything on the Plast Craft website. Thanks.
  19. If you are willing to Green Stuff up some plants, the old Gamma World RPG has several carnivorous plant mutants across the several editions (and even a mutant plant character class!). Some fun artwork in the rulebooks that you might want to check out. BTW Jimbobovalsocks: those sprue plants are something I must try---thanks for the link.
  20. Thanks, Argent! No additional progress yet, but I have a plan for the next step.
  21. I am stocking up on supplies for building terrain features all winter. Many stores around here currently are beginning to have decorations for both All Hallow's Eve and Christmas at the same time. In looking over some very cheap (dollar store) decorations, I found this piece wherein someone had mistakenly painted all the ravens red! Imagine my surprise. It took a few soaks in Simple Green and a few scrubs to get that thick paint off, but it eventually cleaned up. I dremeled off the mold lines and used some Green Stuff to cover up the budgie-like beaks with something a little vicious-looking. A little more Green Stuff and the branches on the ground become bones. Hopefully I will get some time soon to work on more of this. It's a good scale for a terrain piece, and just wide and heavy enough that it will sit nicely on the table without a larger piece of hardboard underneath it.
  22. That looks great! The water feature is especially nice. Where did you find a detailed bioler-like piece, or did you fab this from scratch? Very nice job on the rust effects. I'm just a beginner at this, but I may try something similar, at least soemthing with iron scap and water. Cheers.

Preparation work done on the raven terrain scene. A few days in Green Stuff and a few scrubs. I used a Dremel on the mold lines, and green stuff to make the beaks look a little less budgie-like. Then a coat of white primer and a first dark coat on the ravens and trees. I used a little more Green Stuff on the end of what were branches on the ground, and they're now a bit more like bones.

Who painted those ravens red? Some potential Malifaux terrain (after the colors are corrected) found in a dollar store.
  25. How the ... ? I'm in awe.
