  1. Francisco, with some support, can be quite hard to take down. And there's more to a model than how frail it is relative to its cost. This thread isn't about nerfing your own faction, it's a healthy discussion about adjusting the power levels, in both directions, for our faction. I think most will agree it's for the good of the game, and in any case is a fun little thought experiment. I think the Hunter is quite good with McCabe and Hoffman, but I certainly wouldn't mind if he got cheaper
  2. I think they should be avalaible in whatever capacity you play him. Regarding the "play as a master" part, I think we should just agree to disagree
  3. Sams upgrade is pretty bad, so I'd agree to that needing a fix. Giving Sam some form of defense would be nice, he is really fragile. The Exorcist, as have been said, needs a little something, though I dont really know what. Wastrels....does anyone even use them? Maybe give them Manipulative 11 or something? When I take Santiago, my opponents usually ignore him, so he doesn't become really dangerous, but I think his card is fine.
  4. I think the Rail Golem should be Ml 6. I think The Captain should be 1 ss cheaper. Give Rasputina a Cg value. Those are what comes to mind, what do you think?
  5. I feel your pain. I mainly play TT and Arcanists and the number of models standing on their big toe as their only means of support is mindblowingly annoying. That and the sheer number of parts for seemingly simple models is pretty annpying as well
  6. The new steamfitter is a fine companion to the upgrade, but i usually prefer to play Rasputina a bit upfield
  7. I think in a summoning list, you choose to summon the Golem for the explosion damage. Hopefully it can do some damage beforehand, but 3 dg on death is pretty good, it's a half Papa Loco

    New Hoffman

Ah I thought so I am planning to try him as a beater with Sidir + Promises to help him out with wp duels and offense.

    New Hoffman

Is it me, or does Hoffman effectively have armor +2 with Improved Harness + his df trigger? Seems really nice if that's the case....you reduce the damage and then reduce from armor afterwards, if I am reading it right.
  10. Thanks for the replies, good to see some actual discussion about the topic I didn't think the subject would be met with such determination from some people, but although he technicially isn't a master he certainly plays like one, and I think you guys got that from my initial writings. Personally I would like two limited upgrades, one that boosts his survivability and another that gives him a more varied combat role, by adding some debuffs or shooting spell of some kind. Both upgrades would have armor +1 or regen +2 on them. Am I crazy?
  11. He functions like your crews master, so I still think the query is valid. Health of the game and that.
  12. Hi there As the title suggests, there doesn't seem to be any new upgrades for Wrath in the new book. I think this is disappointing, as I quite enjoy playing the Crossroads 7, but I think we can agree, that as a master, wrath is probably the weakest in the game. A dedicated melee master with 8 wounds and no defensive tricks. Bad. So I was looking forward to the new book, but was a bit frustrated when I realized, that they forgot about Wrath. Can we expect some new upgrades for him in the future? If so, what are the general ideas for making our favorite band a bit stronger?
  13. My mistake then, I must have missed those
  14. Why did you break the trend with the "miss" models? The alt Taelor should be a male, it's quite sad it isn't. Might just be me, but I'm pretty disappointed about that.
  15. Toshiro and some Komainu is a good choice. If you add the Emissary and some Ashigaru you have a potent summoning list, that is quite suit dependant though.
  16. Same here. I do think that certain masters tend to nudge players towards that gaping chasm called despair a bit easier than others though
  17. What does that have to do with Kaeris though? Sounds like it's all on the player, not the model.
  18. Learning Malifaux is putting the models on the table and building experience. Both models work fine in a SHen Long crew, but are obviously better at certain things. If your opponent declared Arcanists, then I'd recommend Kang over Yu. Yu can be quite expensive and is semi-hard to use well, so he will punish inexperience a lot more than Kang will.
  19. I think they are fine for a 4ss model. You can vent steam with Mei Feng around them btw.....or get the totem to do so.
  20. Ramos is probably the best for a beginner. He is safe, easy to play and can handle most things.
  21. The models look good, but It's pretty bad, that it's dual faction when Guild won the event in my opinion.
  22. It is what it is. As mentioned several times already, if you pick Levi into those strats/schemes, then deal with it.
  23. I think his damage is fine now. He actually has to put in some effort to kill stuff now, which some players might find annoying, but that's how it is. You choose faction, not master, in this game, and if you willingly pick Leveticus into the earlier mentioned strats and schemes, then you're not really playing well, and poor plays gets punished. He's still really good, he's just not borderline broken now. (This is mostly directed at the old channel abilitry).
  24. Sue is a good hire against caster crews. His damage is alright as well, and he's a really cool cat.
  25. In my experience, the most fun masters to face, are the ones, that will kill you old school (by way of murdering you with either tools or fists). Masters who dictate your activations or deny you a lot are quite frustrating at times. (Jack Daw, Hamelin, Brewmaster and Pandora f.x) An overly cautious opponent can be boring to face as well.
