The golden army in hellboy went for a fire/orange/red glow on their golden constructs Why not go with light blue as you already have the blue hoses around the face. And the Guild tries to portray itself as a force for good so the evil red eyes while the guilds colour would probably scare regular citizens so a pale blue would be a better PR-choice

The sorrows are indeed nice. Also you used less light or a darker background making the pictures come out better. White background washes out the colours. Try snapping a few pics of the nephilim either with less light or another background because at the moment its really hard to see whats going on there.

Good work. I really like the freehand starscape on the cloak. Kingdom death do limited runs of their resin line since you have to replace the mould after a while. Each one is numbered so theres no surprise that they run out. The pokemon reflex is strong in the toy soldier community for limited edition sculpts ^^ The plastic will look great if he ever manages to release them. He basicly scrapped the restick line and moved to the same plastic as wyrd uses since the quality wasnt good enough. So I hope he doesnt run out of money but then again the continued release of limited resin provide additional income that will hopefully make Adams dream a reality and provide excellent minis to the backers making everybody happy

So some more Nephilim Their Queen Lilith The sneakiest of the Ortegas - Tuco A walking shrubbery - Waldgeist And Liliths and Pandoras joint custody pet/child/pukesnake - Primordeal Magic Should probably try for a gem effect on the eyes sometime down the line. Was to much of a coward to try it since I was going to use it in a game the next day when I painted it. Will probably be another post later tonight since I didnt post anything yesterday. Guess Itll be Zoraida and the voodoo doll as they share the swamp bases with lilith.

I havent seen a lot of painted pics of the special sets where the effect was put to good use. Not even properly based non painted clear plastic models. Personally I havent really seen the point. So I dont own any but nothing has so far convinced me thats a misstake on my part.

Im into both chuthulu wars and kingdom death and Im currently trying to reduce my closet of shame where i keep all my unpainted models before they arrive. Both of them arriving will destroy me... Have you had a look at raging heroes - toughest girls in the galaxy kickstarter for a nurse proxy? the iron empire has a pretty nifty medic with some iron backpack thing thats pouring a cup of tea and wearing a gasmask so would work well as a nurse for mc mourning and a necrosurgeon for cryx if youre into that game aswell The kingdom death pinup line has been the main moneymaker for him to beeing able to develop kingdom death up to the kickstarter launched. Also the sculptors he employ enjoy doing them so theyre theraphy more or less after sculpting all the other twisted things that adam comes up with Ive bought a well from tabletop world and their stuff is excellent in quality and you get what you pay for. Ive yet to make the plunge and buy any of their bigger houses but I cant say Im not tempted. -
practice makes perfect. Im not a sculptor myself but from what Ive read GS doesnt keep edges well and brownstuff are better for mechanical stuff. I have no idea what youre using but are you using the right material for the job? And also If you look at masters they regularily use actual chains for chains and brass rod etc. so dont be afraid to use plasticard pipes for the cannon etc I looks like you already have incorporated other stuff then just the "clay" so Im preaching to the choir Hope you get a result youre satified with in the end. Thats all that matters.

Dafruk: thanks. the problem with the doppelganger will have to wait tough as I have made the rule that I wont repaint as long as I have unpainted minis to focus on. When I look at it I want to work some more on the skin and also add a light blue stripe to the towels lower area to make it slightly less bland I think. But that might change when Ive painted enough to actually get back to it. Zfiend: thank you. glad you like it. Remember that imitation is the greatest form of flattery so if you have unpainted viks or sorrrows laying around show me your take on it. Keeping up with some more of the pandora models. Baby Kade The over the top blood scheme is inspired by my memories of the pet cemetary movie with the little kid running around slicing achilles tendons and beeing covered in gore And the archenemy of japanese scoolgirls everywhere the Insidious madness a rather lackluster non inspired scheme on this one. the eyes was inspired in a way by octopie eyes Now I dont care for any of the nephilim models apart from mr graves and tuco basicly so for my Lelu and Lelitu i turned to the helldorado range. For Lelu I turned to Wormpile from the lost faction. If Hamelin has an enforcer in m2e this might be a good fit for him also. A sentient pile of worms that devour you seemed to fit the bill for the melee twin and the poison wasnt that farfetched either. For Lelitu I got Samael the sword staff seemed like it could be whipped out for the 3" and he floats so a good fit thats it for now. I guess Ill carry on into Lilith next

The box opens Here she is the lady was named a npe in 1.5 I added a tentacle from the sewer aceossories blister to the box and in hindsight I should probably have gone for it comming out of the ground instead. I still kinda like the image of the box beeing a gate to another dimension and tentacled fiends trying to push through an opening far too small for it. But its slightly to big I feel. My idea with the sorrows where that they pushed through reality and adopted the texture and patterning of the place they spawned. Hence mr carpet sorrow And his buddy mr book Sorrow The idea was to get writing all over him since he spawned from the page of a book. A far better idea then execution Im afraid I used a small pen to "write" on him and should probably wash him with a diluted bone colour to dull the black a bit since it comes of very sharp Also have a green one that spawned from a rift in the floor on the same type of orphonage base as pandora is standing on but it seems to have gone missing for now. Doppelganger a basic paintjob and I should probably go back and do something more with the skin. Something I dont fear as much anymore but still dont feel I can pull of realistcaly. a liberal application of tamayia clear red on the back.

I think well start of the neverborn block with the dreamer proxy As the dreamer i give you a chineese girl holding a bunny Thats Aiko from the Bushido lines temple of ro-kan faction And as her trusty lord chompy bits a WIP of a frostwyrm meant for a whfb thing i think, it was a chech page if i recall correctly Hes far from done. But big claws? check! Big teeth? check! so I think it makes a fine LCB dont you? It came on a thick resin scenic base that was quite thick so Ive done a fairly decent job rounding the corners but could probably go back and do more. He still needs more highlights and then dulling down with black washes. The same technique that I used on my hungering darkness. Something this guy also was a candidate for before i saw some of the chuthulu wars sculpts and the warrior nation spirit thing from WWX Ill probably add my teddy proxy to this post aswell once I loate it in the closet. I put of putting it together since lining up hte arms was a bit of a hassle. Tomorrow I guess well have some Pandora

I have to say I imagined it bigger when the 1.5 rulebook had him skipping between branches out of sight from people down below. I guess well start with the neverborn tomorrow So what do you want to see first? Pandora Lilith Lynch Zoraida Collodi or my dreamer proxy?

Nice looking minis. The freehand on the waif and the runny mascare was a nice touch. is the strongarmsuit magnetized at the waist? since hes crouching in one pic and stadning in the others or did you paint two? the transition on the skin to tentacles also impresses. Really nice blend.

Theyre actually metal inserts from black cat bases. A cheaper option then most other bases but quality is hit or miss one some of their line. Now I belive I promised some shooty mercs for today the base is homemade from a secret weapon bag of skulls. I would probably use a Boneyard base today instead of gluing that many skulls to a single base but he is huld hogan deathmachine extraordinaire. On the plus side hes ankledeep in skulls intead of standing on top of a ground littered with them. Next is the convict gunslinger I didnt go for the striped nor the orange pants on him, hes on parole and wearing his own clothes. Lets hope nathan dont see this one thats it for today tomorrow: the 1.5 mascot and his home

cheers the bodysuit seemed more realistic and has the added benefit of not having me painting as much skin. Not having to paint realistic skin is kind of what drew me to ressers and later neverborn in the first place. Avoiding to paint skin has affected a lot of my faction choosing in wargaming. chaos in 40k cryx and legion in warmahordes with menoth added once i realised that they mostly had all covering helmets on so i wouldnt have to paint faces and let alone eyes. The theme of avoiding human skin continued into helldorado with the lost beeing lizard and birdpeople. I finally faced my fears in bushido with the temple of rokan faction consiting of bare chested shaolin monks. now for what you came here for today: Ronins Cowboy Samurai girl And the shooty one Didnt really care for the bad hair day sculpt so havent painted it yet. Doesnt seem to need 3 ronins in a list either tbh. Most of the 3 different sculpt blisters only have 1 or 2 painted since you rarely need more then 1-2 of them tomorrow some of my more shooty mercs but no hans as my proxy sculpt for that one 30 coins from helldorado arrived last week

If you look at when he last was active it was in may 2013 so popgoestheword probably wont answer you. however if you look at the first unpainted pics you see wich of the sechin have grey bodies made out of putty. Probably on a wire frame attatched to to the head and then the putty is twisted to provide the spirity curves. Look at Privateer press Cryxian ghost pirates called blackbanes ghost raiders http://privateerpress.com/files/products/34064_BlackbanesGhostRaiders_WEB.jpg they use the similar twisted GS technique to aquire the same effect. The hads on Ikoruy are from GW Ghouls so its likely that the bodies down there are from a similar kit. Im not an expert on WHFB so I cant tell you wich one it is but unpainted they have a distinctive GW grey plastic look. The Woman to the right in the pics are metal and look a lot like a Rotten Belle to me but I may be wrong. I cant say where he got his bonsai but there is one in the Asian zen base insert accesories pack. He says he painted them if you read closely the one behind the models is a composition of different paintings he found. You could probably aquire the same effect with a printed image. -
Well Im slightly unusual in that I actually like to paint and wont put unpainted stuff on the table so my closet isnt of shame its "stuff I havent gotten to yet" I own 3 warmahordes factions and Ive stopped playing it more or less and before the arrival of the kickstarters lesser warcasters I had 3 unpainted models, a lesser warbeast, a caster and a warjack. Granted theres a moving box full of 40k stuff that I havent touched since I realised I liked reading about the 40k world more then I enjoyed playing the computer games and that I liked playing dawn of war alot more then the 40k table top game. I should sell that of but sorting through it and listing it isnt appealing enough so I usually think "Ill do that tomorrow". I guess the 40k box is my shame. I have a big kingdom death pledge comming whenever the stars allign and a chuthulhu wars aswell but I dont know if Ill paint that one. Probably not. I see most of my painting atm as "practicing for Kingdom death" since I need to up my game for thoose figs. And now the Victorias First sword Vic - gave her a bodysuit outfit for maximum mobility and stealthiness before the whirwinding starts. Gun Vic Student of Conflict I know I said there would be ronins but I forgot about their totem and Sword Vic got 3 pics so I guess well see the ronins tomorrow

Well Dafruk theese are all 1.5 hiring restrictions since I havent actually played since the beta started so I havent kept up with the hireing restrictions. I only ave two arcanists painted so far since they could either be used by my neverborn or Levi. I used this bad boy and Izamu in a Levi list that made my opponent sad. Rail Golem aka Thomas the pain engine Had dogs or rotten belles to get cheap activations and also lure the opposing models into the killzone with levis spellcasting and the two beatsticks. This dude was aquired to provide the arcane reservoir to masters that didnt want the pukesnake and also since one of my opponents didnt have a totem for his arcanist master so I got this so he could borrow it if he wanted to as I figured id have a use for it down the line in Neverborn or Arcanists if/when i got into it Arcane Effigy And a painted collection, I dont know about that The pic is blurry and dark so I doubt you can make out how much stuff is actually in that closet and I admit its not all malifaux but also some helldorado, kingdom death and confrontation in there. 75% of it is Malifaux models. Avatars, Riders and Guild and Arcanists make up the most of it but there are some stragglers to the resser neverborn and outcast line aswell. Tomorrow: Vics and ronins

cheers mate. I was starting to feel like full on Castaway-Tom Hanks in here talking to Wilson. The Intestines on Yin are talarn flesh the old GW fundation paint washed with devlan mud(agrax earthshade) and gloss varnish so really easy to do. Now on with the show Steampunk Abbo 3 - the brain of the outfit horrible focus.... sigh Steampunk abbo 4 - dont shoot Im unarmed And now what you get if you put them all in a bowl and furiously whip them around Desolation engine Cant say Im happy with this one but have yet to get it on the table so no mental breakdown and repaint as of yet Thats It for now Next time: Arcanist constructs that work for Mr Levi
