I havent looked at his m2e rules so i dont know if hes a stompy armour with a angry spirit inside or incorporeal ghost samurai if hes a stompy armour hed trample the vegetation behind him. And I also wondered if the backbanners are green and freehanded or covered in mildew. do you have a better picture of them if they are covered in freehand goodness?

mako have you considdered doing something with one of the clear cast crews? Ive yet to see someone use the translucency(?) to its full effect. Seeing as youre quite acomplished maybe you have some nifty ideas and or tips on how to go about it? Im aware of the fact that you dont "have" to paint them but that also seems like a waste of the potential. and as always: hows that hungering darkness comming along?

apart from the hungering darkness Id like to see you do the showgirls, iazamu and after that its a coinflip between ototo or raspy. While Raspy is one of the newer sculpts I prefer over the original Justice and her crew doest excite me at all so do her last. ^^

Hehe its a fitting name for him and my issues with the name poots gave him in combination with your vision of him isnt anything hats an issue for anyone but me. Stars are suns so hes just a warrior of the sun on a grand scale

Good looking results from you as per usual sybarite no matter if you speedpaint or take your time.

The highlights look quite stark at this distance but the important question is: how does it look on the table? you generally watch your models from more then armslenght away and what looks good close up subtle shifts might not register at that distance. And things that make them look great on the table can make them eysores when you photograph them up close. Some of the impressionist masters springs to mind. When it comes to the basing its all acording to taste. I generally keep models i percive as belonging together with the same base style more or less but most of them have cobblestone bases as i was planning to build a cityboard so that would make a lot of sense. A lot of ressers have graveyard bases and mcMourning and his cronies have mortuary bases, yan lo and his models are on skull bases since he is walking the path of bone (or atleast did in 1.5, i havent kept up) and some of the neverborn have orphanage bases and zoraida and lilith are on svamp base inserts. So if you want cracked thundra looking or further up the mountain isnt the end of the world tbh. keeping them in a snow theme will tie them all together anyway. just play it by ear is my advice.

So I actually played two games of malifaux 1.5 last night. Two demo games where Molly tried to escape and survive against Liliths claim jump and Molly trying to reconoiter an area vs Vicks & Von Schill. First game was a slaughter fest as i didt bring the rogue necromancy and Sybelle just doesnt stand up to lilith tuco and Mr graves. Second game faired a little bit better but was a loss aswell but i did kill of the vicks and could have managed a draw with some lucky flips and soulstones. But it was 0200 so I conceded defeat once again. So from last nights game, the bane of Crooligans I bring you Mr Graves in his early paintjob and to my regrett not a mustard yellow vest like Jacob to Signyfy the Honeypots work attaire. needs some cleanup and possibly a repainted west. Ill have to give Jacobs vest some attention with gold freehand and see how that works out before I start messing with theirs. Think Ive found some more proxys for it since then but it was always slated for a new model from day one. Continuing on the Doll theme starting with Collodi I gave all the marionettes individual schemes figuring that if hes putting on a show the characters in the puppet theatre should be easily distinquishable collodi himself is a WIP missing some freehand I was to scared to do at the time. The Red black and white scheme is partly inspired by the puppet from SAW (the first one not the rubbish sequells) The basing is a balsa blinder thingy that came stained so I didnt bother to try and paint it.
