  2. There is this upgrade called oath keeper for outcasts. You might have heard of it. Every model that can take it usually does. When that model dies it drops a scheme marker. When imbued dies your draw 4 cards. 1 ap can make all the difference. Masters have 3 ap now take one away. If you don't see the significance of that alone you are missing a very core mechanic of malifaux. At its very very basics it's how do I turn my available Ap into Vp. Having more ap generally means doing more per turn And more vp. So giving a model fast for one turn is super good. (Again look at outcasts and say wish my faction had oathkeeper.) 4 cards if the model dies before doing what it wanted to do is an amazing consolation prize. Or free cards in myrandas case. Also using those resources to deny and gain vp.
  3. I don't really see Tara to much if levy buries early then she can't bury anything else for the rest of the turn. Buts completely my opinion. Oh also 70ss but 35 for each master. Keep'em coming.

(I am a master after all) You crazy people driving hundreds of km an hour is crazy. I will just stick to my good ol mph. M1e had no pre measuring. Which if charges failed they failed. Now it's impossible for charges to fail. So to the original poster if you can say hey I am going to charge Then measure and find out your are out of range I assume you take a different course of action. And while doing so ipso facto wasting time. Or while waiting for your opponent you can measure. And Make strategic choices of how to win and not limiting yourself to how you think it should be played.

  8. As soon as you add as if it were a Attack Action. By normal language it becomes a action and would suffer from randomize. So yes STRICTLY speaking you are correct and bayou Bushwackers and mctavish have useless abilitys. This is one of those times I won't argue RAW. But rather it is quite intended that the attacker gets a to either the Attack flip (soft cover) or the Attack and Damage flip (hard cover) But with out writing a page and a half of rules to even make this work. Its much easier and most people will take the correct face value that I benefit from cover vs your non- Attack actions.
  9. Either we have an ability that does something. Or we have an ability that does nothing. I choose to play it as it does something. Since to think it does nothing is being disingenuous. If the ability was worded "non attacks receive a while this model is in cover..." then it would apply additional modifiers on top of cover modifiers. Since cover does not stack this ability does not put actions at more . And giving it the icon would make it randomize if the target was engaged.

In the unlikely event that the order in which multiple effects ending would affect the outcome, then the affected model's owning player determines the order in which they are resolved. If models from both players are affected, the First Player's models will resolve their effects first. Page 35 big book.

  12. I swear I am not making stuff up one of my local players brought it to my attention and I was quite baffled. So thought I would ask.
  13. Well his new card says rare 1 (yay) But they also changed flaming bullets from saying enemy models into just models (ie friendly and enemy) which makes it a much much useful ability. Borderline useless. Since now you have to make your own flips and duels or be at a negative. Just wondering if it was an oversight or if they meant it to be all models.

  15. Her most useful and best ability is giving all friendly Ms&u to attack and damage flips when wounded. She is support plain and simple. To think other wise is wrong. So challenge the crowd is not auto include,But if you want her more combat orientated then Seize the day upgrade with challenge the crowd can work. Gives her a fighting chance to attack things first then run away with her (0)
  16. No sadly. it is entirely strategy and scheme dependent. In Reckoning people might not care how many rats you summon since "free" vp for them. same with spiders they dont come in with full health and slow. In Turf war people will care slightly more since you can put significant models in the marker ever turn. In reconoiter again you can put significant models in places to score vp in Squatters they might not be able to interact but summoning them and walking next to a marker makes the opponet have to kill that model before interacting not doing so again gives vp. stake a claim most summoners i know can prolly summon something over the half way point by turn 1-2 with certain setup or the summoned model can walk so it is or can be pushed or something else. the above statements are very generalized. Now if we go in to specific summoners and break it down you would need house rules when some strategies come up and some when others do. Sonnia can't out right summon anything unless she or her crew kills something with fire on it. in turf war this seems good since you know they are going to be there. in reconoiter not as fantastic but with a little setup could easily replace their model with your own again scoring vp. in reckoning maybe you want the stalker maybe you dont. in stake a claim it would be a full turn before it could do much but its there. in squatters you are denying interations (hopefully) with that stalker. Nicodem get unslow minions that can do what ever he wants cept interact. But needs a corpse which most times is near him and his board so its not terribly bad for most things. to top that off if mortimer is popping out markers his whole life he isn't doing much else. still once things start dying it gets better for nico. Unless they dont drop corpse markers. Mcmourning his killing your stuff and getting a 13wd model for the trouble. not something that happens all the time everytime since it takes setup and some decent cards. Seamus, Needs corpses and can only summon Rotten belles or Doxys (doxy are so much better lol) if no corpses are around he makes them if you kill his stuff he can replace the loss. but only if he has the cards or stones. Kirai can summon off her fast incorporeal models and make more models every turn on top of the activation control of seshin, and on top of Ikryo Popping out wreaking havoc all day. Not being able to summon her in the first turns (as has been suggested) would make the kirai player unhappy with the house rule just by that. Molly can shit out models 6" away with out the need for corpses to hold her back low wound count so most things go back if you hit them hard enough. But with hard to kill again burning that limited AP on a model that took me a card to summon. Kaeris is just like Sonnia with her summon (more or less) so meh Ramos is a dick in low cost games. Summoning 2-3 spiders turn 1 is amazing for reconnoiter and more so with turf war to make sure you will always have. reckoning might not be a big deal since they dont come in full health but being able to drop a scrap marker where you want it is fine. (thing walks magnetize to it killing it dropping scrap ap left to summon etc). For squatters is a night mare unless you have dont mind me. since you must kill the spiders to even interact. which in turn mind you drop more scrap that can be summoned off of. Mechrider. Heh 12 stones that pays for itself for the models its summons. really good in reconnoiter since it poops out significant models, which drop scrap. when they die. Dreamer. heh his upgrade costs 5 stones and any limiting on him makes him not useful for a hot minute. if the turn 1-2 rule cant summon daydreams, which in turn cant summon other things. so whats he going to do walk? use his SH action? gues he could empty night a few times while weathering the storm of his opponent. But without doing something he just barfs up models that kill things (looking at you stitched) great for turf war and squatters for reasons stated above. good for reconnoiter since model models everywhere. Collodi is here but him summoning his marionettes is like Seamus just replacing his losses which can turn games at the 35 stone level but the turn 1-2 rule wont have any effect. Somer 3 bayou gremlins first turn maybe some more after that depending on what the slop hauler is doing. great for reconnoiter and turf war and things that need schemes (damn cheap fast gremlins) the turn 1-2 has Great effect on somer. he is to busy to spend his time walking around doing other things and by turn 3 his crew is in the danger zone and summoning off them would be much more or a waste since killing a gremlin at 2 wounds is not that hard of a feat. Any outcast master can use the Obedient Wretch to summon rats to eat up activations and make a rat king for a 4ss investment Hamelin likes his stolen making rats and rat kings and rat catchers restrctions on him make him have to do other things which might not be two awful but the Hamelin player might be a little salty. Levy. his best way to summon is to kill your stuff. Neutering ashes and dust turn 1-2 is fine for levys opponent. sure but if ashes dies on turn 2 do to sniper like things or shenaigains and cant drop its core. Salty levy player, rusty can summon with out scrap (unless you take her upgrade to shoot summon like levy) aboms not being able to form voltron might make levy salty also. So what ever house Rules you make up it will Negatively effect one or more crews but have no bearing on some and out right neuter others. There is no way to make it Balanced, and have both people walk away from the game feeling like they had a chance.
  17. No. A model with the Paralyzed Condition generates no AP and can declare no Actions during its Activation (not even 0 Actions which cost no AP). The range of all Actions a model has is considered 0 while it is affected by the Paralyzed Condition, and will therefore not engage enemy models. page 53 Big book. Hem is not a it can be obeyed to be cast again Highly contentious, If you suffer 0 damage I inflicted 0 damage. therefore if my moderate is 3 and you prevent 3 by using a SS then my activation is not ended. Moot point ofc since most things need to focus to get here. Unless you are facing things like shenlong or Guild rifleman with dashel then Zorida dies REALLLY easily. But i do like the Spiel it made me look at her slight different
  18. Sewn In Poison: Enemy models within 2 that suffer damage from an Ml Action gain the Poison +1 Condition after resolving the current Action. Stacking all effects that are not condtions stack unless otherwise specified. See Sig for page number for stacking effects.
  19. a 7 turning into a 9, a 9 turning into an 11, and 13 turning into 15 (hey it beats red jokers.) I gamble with sonnia alot. And it pays off most times. having her in range to nuke a crew turn 2 with and then winning it since you burned a 1ss upgrade you just have since its there. (papa loco actually gains benefit since he can push towards something then blow up) i have better uses for Sonnia 0 actions lol. But it has won me a few games. forcing a reflip cause i have a lower card is fine by me.

Guild Crew - 50 - Scrap Sonnia -- 3-5 Pool +Cherufe's Imprint [1] +Counterspell Aura [1] +Expert Sleuth [1] Malifaux Child [3] Brutal Effigy [4] Death Marshal [6] Guild Austringer [6] Guild Austringer [6] Papa Loco [7] After this you have 15 stones to play with. Can put expert sleuth on Papa loco if need be and take Reincarnation if you want. and why expert sleuth well +2 to the int flip is amazing, Especially when you need to win it since you are gambling Sonnia's Life. Making Walls is the only reason why the Child is in the list. so terrain dependent or if SS starved drop him and use 3 stones for what ever. If You don't take counterspell aura you are denying yourself an amazing upgrade that says Sonnia cant be lured, and it also effects enemy models that are standing near Sonnia. by that i mean if they are targeted by Friendly (enemy to you) CA actions they lose suits. scheme heavy Guild hounds/ watchers, guild guard. . Squatters rights- some Traps and at least one watcher 2 is ideal. Use the watchers to double walk, use the austringers to make them interact claim 1-2 markers first turn. the traps are used to deny the opponent markers ofc Turf War- What ever floats your boat or tickles your fancy. stalkers do fine since they explode on the enemy and could light things on fire sammy might have a modicum of usefulness . Reckoning- Again really your choice Stake a Claim- take 1-2 watchers and turn 1 use the austringers to push them across the center line so turn 2 you drop claim markers can also be used to place two markers on the line for ALITS Reconnoiter- I prefer guild guard since get 2 of them and they are df6 armor 1. and well there is two of them. austringers hold down a quarter by themselves. Sonnia and DM go trundling towards and enemy Quarter with papa in a box. Brutal effigy is significant and can do what ever needs to be done as long as he is withing 8" of Sonnia. (6 if you want to accomplice.) to Damage on Sonnia, everyone hates Austringers since you can use them to complete schemes and kill stuff,Brutal keeps Sonnia alive and gives her cards. Death marshal is scheme runner/ Papa's chauffeur The weakness of this crew is its minions and people feel the need to take big beat sticks (at least one) but you have 15 stones left so take one if that's your style. Some people will say NO SAMMMY!!!?!?!?!?!? OMG NOPE NOOOOBBB. and i will just laugh at you. same with stalkers if you think you need them 15 stones to get them no biggie.

  22. So models are objects. Weird so is terrain according to the rulebook. And models as quoted above are impassable objects. So how do we define impassable well it's clearly defied as a terrain trait. Ipso facto models have the impassable terrain trait. Ditto for blocking. Still proving my point. Thank you.
  23. Assimilate is an attack action. Models can't attack themselves Attack Actions require a target and LoS (see pg. 40). In addition, a model may never target itself with an Attack Action, unless specifically allowed by another rule.Page 38.
  24. Just to be clear you think that if the MC cast machine puppet he would benefit from from Empower: This model gains +1 Ca (max of +2) for each other friendly Construct within 4.
  25. The pushed model cannot pass through impassable objects (such as other models, or walls) or climb. Page 43 Impassable is defined in the book a few times and is terrain trait. And as you have pointed out "blocking" is also defined in the rule book as a terrain trait. So we have models be specifically mentioned that they are impassable. And specifically mentioned they are blocking. So a model is impassable and it is blocking. Not ignoring anything. But thank you for the rules to further back up the....rules.
