  1. I thought O and S scales were closer. I cant remember, but i found a chart on a couple of train sites that showed the scale in mm. i think S is 25mm and O is 30 something mm.
  2. yeah, im thinking about re-shading the skin (a little too light to be rail workers). Ironically, i was going for a more subtle shaded look. a little more realistic. but i think im going to go back to my old style.
  3. Interesting idea. Looks pretty good and at a decent price. my issue would be the 25mm scale for Malifaux. i found that even the Sarrissa heroic scale, which was made for Malifaux, to be a tad on the small side (even accounting for my large bases). Im really looking forward to the Micro-Art Wolsung terrain to come out. Those buildings are what i imagine city buildings in Malifaux to look like.
  4. I was with you up until i read the FAQ that specifies paralyzed as an effect. Q. Can you clarify what an effect is? A. An effect meets all of the following criteria: It is generated during an Encounter It sits 'on' a model Paralyzed sits on the model which is Paralyzed. Conduit sits on the Voodoo Doll. Nurse's Massive Dose sits on the target of the Spell. ....
  5. You need to have a (0) To use eat your fill. You only get a (1) for slow to die. You can only use the ability if you have the action points to use it. Lets say it was the Gakis turn and they had another (0) action that they used already. If you ended up killing a model, you would not be able to use eat your fill as you don't have a (0) action left. There is no rules on the card trumping the rule book.
  6. Great job on the gremlins! I also love the way the table is cumming along. i bought a couple of the sarrisa buidlings for my western town as well. how do you like the scale? and are you planning on painting them or leaving them bare wood?
  7. I basically went off of the card. i'm not too imaginative when it comes to color, so i pretty much copy the standard colors with a couple of tweaks. The white shirt is just astronimican grey base and some scar white layer. Another thing to note about painting these plastics, is that you really have to use thin layers. you can see a little buildup of the paint on the flesh and detail areas. As for the bases, they are just made with plastic strips and gravel. I took a long strip (you can get at any hobby shop in the Plastruct section), dragged some low grit sand paper across it to give it a wood texture and glued an "I" beam across it to make the rail. They actually sell half I beams that would be better suited for a rail, but i was just using what i had at the time. Thanks for the comments.
  8. Well here is the first half of my rail crew (and first attempt at the new plastics). i have to say that though the detail is definitely in the plastics, it is a bit shallow. If your used to using the depth of the model to help you while you paint, it is really tough to do with these. Sorry for the bad pic. i don't have a good light anymore. The bases were a quick job and came out better than i thought they were (so i kept them). i might add some static dead long grass here and there to help it out. Let me know what you think. i haven't seen too many painted rail crews yet.
  9. My thoughts were that the Neverborn where creatures that were created, hence the name NEVER-BORN. They all could have been other creatures at some point and the magic of Malifaux changed them at one point in their lives. Woes, Sorrows and Nytmares are evident of this and even Tuco seems to suggest that Nephilim could have once been human or some other race. Maybe they were all corrupted by a specific type of magic in Malifuax originated by the Tyrants.
  10. Really sweet. Sad that you sold your showgirls. Great stuff.
  11. Great work man. As always, your stuff is top notch!
  12. that shamus avatar is amazing and i love your painting style. very smooth with the transitions. how long did it take you to sculpt that?
  13. HAHA, ive had my 6th edition book for a while now and havent even finished reading it. i have 6 armies from 3k to 15k in points, all but one fully painted. i hear you man.
  14. LSAs (2) are great and go with his avatar (also recommended). the mechanical rider is also good for some mobility and you cant beat spider swarms, though i tend to summon the last spider needed to swarm together as part of my requirement to avatar. Im also finding that i cans the stones for the toolkit since i tend to avatar. though i do like it for the detonate ability. i can use a low book if i need to, with a stone. but the arcane effigy is working out nicely since i dont lose him to the avatar manifestation. If your starting out with ramos, you might find him particularly slow and a little difficult at first. things like the Mech rider help with this.
  15. I find that i don't have enough time to paint my own minis. if i ever got caught up, id just buy more. however i have been asked numerous time to paint for some folks. I have always thought, how much $ would it take for me to spend my own time on someone else's models (when i have such a backlog and barely any time)? Whatever the price. make sure it is worth your time.
  16. I had a hand close to that, that its when i killed lady j and about five other bunched up models in one activation with raspy. That's also the hand you should have if you're going to throw lady j forward.
  17. All good suggestions. you have to also look at who you might be playing against. I like the exorcist for the magical weapon buff. Don't overlook her totem as so many do. especially when you use it to buff all your death marshals. you have the ability (forgot name) to give up to 3 death marshals all melee expert +1, you can give opponents - flips or give one of your guys a + flip.
  18. The problem with painting them and being flexible, is that if you put pressure on the hose at any point, it will flex and the paint will crack/chip right off. Although i am painting mine, i did put a layer of zap a gap to try and stiffen them up so that they can take some abuse.
  19. Great paint work! but unfortunately i share the above sentiment about the model itself. knowing that i have one primed and needing a paint job, it still disappoints me that even a great paint job cant save that model. why wasn't he placed on a 50mm base and why did he come with soft squishy parts?! ...ugh...
  20. I'm hoping Wyrd learns from this model, and maybe gives us an alt sculpt. ill be following your lead on finding a proxy, as that is the only model stopping me from playing his crew. I'd like to reiterate JMGs comments about the style of the painting. i really love it! I'm in to keeping things simple as well. that style fits this crew perfectly.
  21. Quick paint up of my only effigy.
  22. Try this: http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/ really good info for her.
  23. Great stuff man. i love what you did with the Austrigers and the Dreamer's 4 armed shadow. I also like that you did all three versions of Lady J. makes me want to get the alt sculpt now. Really great stuff.
  24. Sorry about that. it was late last night and i was rearranging some of my albums. Oops
