I did this to my friend the other day. He used Alyce to try and gib Bette with his 5th activation so I just put her back in the toybox. Next round I cheat in a low card to activate Seamus so I can pop gun Alyce with the very first activation. Bring Bette back and no more Alyce, but my December Acolyte has a new skirt...

I like your style on these. Just simple and clean. I plan to do the same when ever I start working on my share of the minis.

Count me in. I run a contest for 40k\Fantasy painters on another forum and these sorts of things are always fun. Ramos Crew Lady Justice Crew not sure which miniatures I will paint yet but I will do something.

I did the demo after waiting like 30-45 min for 2 other groups to do their demo on Saturday afternoon. So 1) I got lucky and 2) I am just a nice guy and people like giving me stuff because of it XD.

This is going to sound horrible and cheesy but speed painting 120 40k Ork boyz and 90 Skaven Clanrats. The repetition and working hard to paint fast but neat really helped with brush control and color selection. The other thing that goes with this is DO NOT paint one mini, strip it, and try again over and over. Finish the unit or move on to something else first. Being able to look back at your progress will help a ton and can give you a better perspective on how to mak teh mini better. It will also mean you have a fully painted army/unit on the table instead of being in a permanent state primer. Looking at my first batch of Ork Boyz next to my 5th batch of Ork Boys the jump in quality is insane. Add in the first batch of 30 took ~25 min per mini vs the last batch taking ~13 min per mini and it's even more impressive. A cheaper trick is getting a pair of cheap reading glasses from a dollar store. My wife uses a pair for painting and other crafts and loves them. Cost her $2 and work just as nice as the more expensive "professional" magnifiers.

I started miniatures with Battletech ~8 years ago. Didn't play much unless I went to visit friends at college. Got into 40k ~2 years ago, got tired of the game and the costs to run the armies that I wanted grew to be to much. Thanks to the Blood Bowl games I had a love of the Skaven and had sworn that if there was ever a way to get a "cheap" start to a Skaven army in Fantasy I would do it. Island of Blood came out, I stocked up on cheap rats and found more people to play with. While I LOVE the fluff of the Orks in 40k and the Skaven in Fantasy dealing with my armies became a chore. Having to dedicate very large chunks of my spending money every few months to build up my army. Having to dedicate insane hours to actually painting the huge numbers of troops (ask me about painting 90 clanrats over the span of 2 nights). And having to dedicate large parts of my days off just to get games in. Add in some of GW's more recent ways of treating their customers like crap and I was pretty much done. I have been watching Malifaux for a while now and the whole concept just scratches all my itches. Cheap to get into, quick to play, tactical, easy to transport, awesome minis to paint and convert, and lots of variety from my own gangs. This year at Gen Con I got my first crew and scenic bases for the whole group because even if I don't play a lot of games, I want to paint and show off these minis. With Puppet Wars I have yet another way to get my mini fix but I can also get other people to play with because they just need to sit down and play and don't have to buy into the game system to enjoy it. tl:dr Got tired of GW being jerks and making a game into my sole source of entertainment. Having no nostalgia or long term commitment to the game gave them the finger and now I am here.

We got 2 in 4 boxes at Gen Con so we got super lucky :smugpuppet2. Just need the Crows Teddy to finish the set :frusty:

As I have said before my wife and I bought the entire set at Gen Con this year. We had to draft who we wanted to paint to avoid a fight over minis XD. I am looking forward to the sets hitting the local stores so I can grab another box of pawns so there are some options for 4 player games.

I got 2 of the Miss Demeanor from Gen Con and I am looking for offers. Things that interest me: Malifaux: -The Gunslingers -Constructs of Order -the Red Chapel Gang -Cult of December Puppet Wars: -Any of the box sets -Teddy of Crows and of course $$$ So make me an offer. I am willing to chip in money for shipping on the sets depending on where you are located.

-Half of the Puppet Wars minis are on their bases and have been given a quick once over for flash mold lines -Ramos, Joss, Electrical Creation, Mobile Toolkit have been mounted to their scenic bases. Steamborg -Executioner Class needs his body mounted to his legs Not bad for 3 hours of work.

Right now I just have Ramos and Lady J plus a few extra bits for each of their crews. Once I get some games under my belt I will be adding to the collection .

I learned getting married in August and using GenCon as your anniversary gift/trip every year was teh best idea ever. I learned I am one lucky SOB, getting 4 out of 5 Teddys

I really like the idea for the tournament that was mentioned and if I can get enough people playing around here I might do just that.

The thing that sold my wife on it was the fact that while we where talking to Karn about the game he had to answer questions for a demo. My wife watched the other game do a bunch of stuff in a row and said "I just followed what they did. 1 more question and lets get it". We had a draft tonight for who gets to paint what minis .

I probably exchanged words with you but spent most of my time dealing with Steve.

I played this game on a lark and the wife and I bought the full set + 2 more Puppet Decks + a KR Multicase to hold everything. I learned that I can scratch my miniature game itch with having to feel bad about dragging friends into the game, having them spend like 150 bucks, and having them hate the game. I learned that Karn is an interesting fellow I learned that I had better draft the minis I want to paint early or the wife will steal them away from me.

I bought one of their black zip up cases (it's the Aquilla 4 or Kaiser 1 with the M foam, I would email them to double check) at Gen Con this weekend. I bought 2 of them over the course of the weekend 1 for Puppet Wars, 1 for Malifaux. Anyway it held every thing I bought (one of everything) and still has room to fit everything again. They need to update the photos on their site because mine has a front pocket with a flap that velcros closed. It's holding 4 puppet decks, rules, cards, board, and pattern book with ease. I went to show off my purchase of everything Puppet Wars related to Karn on Sunday while he was running demos and he wanted one. So I offered to buy one for him and have him pay me back for it. Went to the booth and the owner, Daryl, tells me it will be $50 (bought the other 2 in different transactions for $40 each). I tell him he sold me the other for $40 and offered to pay the difference. Dayrl says "I told you they where $40 so I will sell them to you for $40" and refused to take my $50 for the 3rd bag.

I got 4 out of 5 at Gen Con. Got blue for the demo, wife got green, and when we bought all the boxes we managed to pull 2 others. Just need to find a way to get my hands on the Crows teddy...
