  1. What is the Akinator website? I've finished the updates & put them on Dropbox, if they'll all good, I'll release them to the public!
  2. So a long time ago, I had a game against Guild McMourning that included Plastic Surgery & the Judge to nuke those newly made undead. Is there a good way to abuse making people undead? How about this? 50ss crew McMourning - 4 cache - Plastic Surgery - 1 - Evidence Tampering - 2 - On the Clock - 1 Zombie Chihuahua - 2 The Judge - 9 Brutal Emissary - 10 Conflux of Hidden Knowledge - 0 2 Exorcists - 14 1 Austringer - 6 1 Nurse - 5 So, McMourning & Exorcists make people Undead & then The Judge & Exorcists go to town. Brutal is there to deliver an exorcist with the Pinebox & the Austringer's (along with McMourning's scheme tricks) there to make sure there's a convenient Scheme Marker to drop him off at. Chihuahua is there to hand out poison to boost Brutal's attacks. Thoughts? Has anyone tried something similar? It feels really amusing having McMourning lead this kind of list!
  3. Ok, Updated the story of Hicks. I'll put it in the Fluff section. Here's the linky: http://wyrd-games.net/community/topic/109582-priest-my-the-fluff-behind-my-counts-as-fransisco/ Kogan Style, it would be great if you took a peak, as I included a fair few of your ideas in there! I need to chain the sword to the wrists, to make the chain stay rigid, do I just coat it in a thin layer of glue? Which glue should I use? Cheers
  4. So I have a thread with my counts as Fransisco conversion here: http://wyrd-games.net/community/topic/109566-death-marshal-fransisco-conversion-wip/ Basically, I want to use Fransisco's rules but I don't want to use the model in my Lady Justice crew (I liked themed lists), so I converted up my own. Here's the fluff behind it! I'd love some C&C, also if you find any mistakes, can you let me know? Cheers! I hope you enjoy it.
  5. Note: none of the above was trying to be offensive, just mostly curious. I'm not religious at all and it is beyond my understanding on how people can be so sensitive about it (this actually goes for a lot of other topics too). I can understand & respect Wyrds deliberate non-inclusion of religion in the game, they're a company in the States, but for a piece of fan-fiction?
  6. @ Kogan Style: Thanks for the ideas, I have a few other ideas to extend it to include some more rip offs from the movie & I'll be sure to include a lot of your ideas in there! @ Zfiend: one mention of the word church turns you off? There was nothing mentioned good or bad other than he was exiled from the organisation. Is that all it takes to turn people away? You must really hate the warhammer universes then.
  7. Ok, I should have been a little more clear, I don't want to make Fransisco (I like themed crews), but my own character using Fransisco's Rules. Therefore, I've decided to go against all advice (although, sculpt some hair, hat and remove the chains & you'd have a decent 'Sisco) and give him the Flaming head. This makes him a bit more special cookie too! It also looks better. I've written up some fluff for him. Thoughts? Also, I need to get some chain to link the sword to his wrist, does anyone know a good way to bind it so it remains rigid?
  8. SO I have the Lady J box & I want to use Fransisco but don't want to buy the box. I also love Gigantor's (the giant crouching Death Marshal) pose but don't want to use him as a Death Marshal as the scale is off... I also wanted to use his casket for Lady J to stand on since she's so tiny. With the stars seemingly aligning perfectly, I suddenly had the idea of chopping off Gigantor's hand & replacing it with a sword would make a great Fransisco! Super simple conversion, I used a Warhammer High Elf Shadow Warrior's sword (my stocks are limited, my main bits box is in another country!). At first I was skeptical but now I really like it as between Lady J's katana, Judge's gun-sword, it makes a nice mystical looking blade (an Old Malifaux relic perhaps?). The big one here is do I give him the flaming head & the Death Marshals the normal heads or vice-versa (they have to have opposites to help distinguish them). Thoughts? I've Christened (somewhat fittingly) him Priest (terrible movie, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine!) Here're some pictures: Yes, I know he needs some cleaning (it's amazing how much photos bring out mold lines!). I also want to convert the chain so it's attached to the sword's pommel. What do you think? Thoughts on the heads? Cheers!
  9. Hey, I've had the Lady Justice crew for a while (since the Easter Sale, I needed something to bump up the order for the Wrabbit & I love the models!). Anyways, There seems to be a little bit of negativity about her which is a good thing as I want a slightly underpowered master to teach people. She's also brutally direct which will be a nice change for me! So the basic crew I'm thinking is this: Lady Justice - 6 Cache - Badge of Office - 2 - Last Stand - The Judge - 9 Franscico (Frank) - 8 - Wade in - 1 - Hermanos de Armos - 1 2 Death Marshals 2 Witchling Stalkers 1 Brutal Effigy With Sidir and the Lone Marshal to sub in, I also like the Justice Unleashed if I'm playing Ressers. What do you think of Implacable? Should be pretty in-your-face, with Judge & Frank giving some movement shenanigans. I also have some good protection for Lady J with Frank & Brutal So with that the basic plans are: A: Things like Turf War, Reckoning, Everything goes up the centre, DM's go on the flanks to remover scheme runners B:Things like Reconnoiter, Squatters, Lady J, Frank, 1 DM, 1 WS & Brutal go up one flank, the rest go up the other. Note, I know this is not the standard way of setting up a crew, but I like to use the models I want & have a basic plan of attack. It works for me! Any other tips you can offer? Thoughts?
  10. Ahh ok. It should be the damage is capped at 3, otherwise what if we just make it a 1/2/3 damage flip? Basically I don't think being able deal 6 damage is a good idea for a 3ss model. Another option for Interacts. Still gains insignificant. (0) Semi-reliable: This model gains the following Condition until the end of the turn: Finish the Job: When this model i killed, it may place a Scheme Marker in base contact with itself before it is killed. Is there anything wrong with what we have now? It can still interact, just not if it was moved by another monkey. (Kalki, I PM'd you the card)
  11. I hate you all!! I was being stingy with my wishlist and it still came to $307!! Wife's not going to be happy... Since I'm taking a (rather large part in the Dark Carnival Homebrew rules) it kinda goes without saying I'm getting a box! Edit. Managed to cut it down to $283... Still not good!
  12. Hey Kalki, I've put the pictures in spoilers in the first post. Can you see them (they work on my phone so hopefully they work on an ipod too...)? I'm actually thinking of going a completely different spin with the monkeys. After reading Manic Mouse's post, about the monkeys having the feel of being their own model and not a totem, I've come up with this: Remove Barrelling (I've changed the cards, don't worry!) Charge & The Haze only grows thicker with the following ability: Monkeying Around: Enemy models engaged with one or more flying monkeys suffer -1 Wp. As for the whole interact stuff, how about this for something completely different! Make them insignificant and instead of placing schemes, they can remove them! They gain the following action: (1) A New Toy to Play With!: Discard one card to discard one scheme marker within 3.
  13. Nice of you to pop in Asrian! I like those suggestions a lot! Expect to see some (or all!) of it stolen!
  14. Change log (although I've doubtless missed a few things!), The Haze has been streamlined to make it less crappy at the start of the game without getting too much by the end. What do you think? Almost all of the TNs have been upped. Mr. Cooper The old Nothing's Free was super potent, wounds for suits, so that's been toned down. He's also gotten a bit tougher with some extra wounds. No More Mr. Nice Guy 1ss cheaper Lost the heal (so no more ridiculous combo with Unpaid Debts), but gained a Horror duel (more Simple Duels!), got a little weaker, but has built in Infect Welcome to my Nightmare dropped the conditions to +2 What is Freely Given Can now only claim Soulstones from Masters and Henchmen (seemed fair) Unpaid Debts Heals 1 wound per Soulstone discarded Flying Monkeys Became cheaper for a start! This is their last chance before they become Insignificant. I've made it so they can all move up with Fly my Pretties! and then drop schemes. I've also toned down G&D to a new action (similar effects, just not Master level!) Lola Seemed a little squishy, so I upped the wounds by 1 and added the Upgrade. Death of a penguin now triggers off Lola's Death (matches the name now). Mercury 1ss cheaper. Added A kind of Magic to give him some synergy with the crew. I Want to Break Free now triggers off being damaged. Lowered the Who Want's to live forever penalty to -1 Thin Lizzy 1ss cheaper. Lure dropped to Ca6 Mummerettes 1ss cheaper, lots of changes! See what you think, are there any actions that you deem pointless? Does Mr. Cooper do enough (especially without No More Mr. Nice Guy)? Are the Monkeys totem-y enough (if not, how can we make them more totem-y?)? How are the TNs, too much?
  15. No Probs about the post, Unfortunately, it was kinda bad timing as I just posted the new cards. Hopefully these are an improvement! I really like your ideas! I'll shoot you a PM. Also, Can you please post on the new thread.
  16. Hi all! Kalkris's computer has gone a bit bung so that has left me to keep the show on the road! Here's the design brief from Kalkris (post 1 of the last thread) PLEASE READ THIS FIRST IF YOU ARE NEW! Open Spoiler Okay, so: The Dark Carnival is coming out for GenCon, as a proxy crew for Colette's standard loadout (Colette, 3 Mechanical Doves, Cassandra, 2 Performers, and 2 Mannequins). We are getting a number of named models, themed after a circus troupe described in detail in the latest Wyrd Chronicles (images for the crew box are also in that issue). The Dark Carnival proxies as Colette, as mentioned above. I am not satisfied with that alone. What I have been tossing about as an idea both on this forum and on AWP is the idea of being amateur (or better!) devs and betatesters, all of us, and creating our own set of rules for Mr. Cooper and his Dark Carnival. And that we did. Now we are onto Stage 2 of this wonderful journey of ours: Playtesting. If you have been watching this space with great interest (or any interest at all, even), you probably have done so with the interest of playtesting this unofficial crew. That, or you probably just want to watch our process and progress. We finished the brainstorm rather early, and now it is the public's turn to give as much feedback as they desire. Unfortunately, I got a reply from Aaron Darland about getting this crew ruleset into the Chronicles and he said that between people skimming the Chronicles for things, and people just plain not reading the Chronicles, it wouldn't reach a wide enough audience and those it would reach may accidentally take the crew as solicited and official. So, the Chronicles is out, but I'm still by all means down to do this! Hope you are too. If you are comfortable working on a set of custom rules for casual games, and willing to make a constructive contribution, please feel free to join in on this great adventure. ~~~~~ DISCLAIMER: This project is not in any way supported or endorsed by Wyrd Games. I want to split it like that alternating by week: Week 1 (7/6-7/12) - Thematic initial - look over crew to start, changes can be made Week 2 (7/13-7/19) - Arcanist initial - no changes until Neverborn initial ends - Wave 1 Week 3 (7/20-7/26) - Neverborn initial - changes applied at end - Wave 1 Week 4 (7/27-8/2)- Thematic #2 - look over crew with changes, changes can be made that do not override W1-3 Week 5 (8/3-8/9) - Break for GenCon recuperation Week 6 (8/10-8/16) - Arcanist #2 - no changes until Neverborn initial ends - Wave 1 Week 7 (8/17-8/23) - Neverborn #2 - changes from W4-6 applied at end - Wave 1 Week 8 (8/24-8/30) - Thematic #3 - make sure nothing degenerate affects thematic crew Week 9 (8/31-9/6) - Arcanist #3 - make sure nothing degenerate affects Arcanist faction - Wave 1 Week 10 (9/7-9/13) - Neverborn #3 - make sure nothing degenerate affects Neverborn faction - Wave 1 Week 11 (9/14-9/20) - Thematic #4 - Repeat Week 1 Week 12 (9/21-9/27) - Arcanist #4 - Repeat Week 2, add Wave 2 Week 13 (9/28-10/4) - Neverborn #4 - Repeat Week 3, add Wave 2 Week 14 (10/5-10/11) - Thematic #5 - Repeat Week 4 Week 15 (10/12-10/18) - Arcanist #5 - Repeat Week 6, add Wave 2 Week 16 (10/19-10/25) - Neverborn #5 - Repeat Week 7, add Wave 2 Week 17 (10/26-11/1) - Thematic #6 - Repeat Week 8 Week 18 (11/2-11/8) - Arcanist #6 - Repeat Week 9, Add Waves 2 & 3 Week 19 (11/9-11/15) - Neverborn #6 - Repeat Week 10, Add Waves 2 & 3 Week 20 (11/16-11/22) - Final - Done! And finally, the cards! Also this week is supposed to be Arcanists, but I feel there's been a fair few changes that we can still try to work on the thematic crew. But if you can, can you also have a look at the Oddity upgrades with the Arcanists' Minions (please!). Also, since some of us don't have computers, here's the jpgs! (they're pretty big) Important!! 17. Thanks for that mammoth post there Manic Mouse! I've kinda taken over a little bit as Kalkris' Computer's down for the time being. I also wasn't involved in those initial discussions so I can't possibly comment on a lot of what you said. I've completed the Week 2 cards, which are quite a bit different, I'd love you to have a look over them & see what you think. If you could also send me any info that you had for your original discussions that would be great! Do you have any mock cards? I'd love to read them (I wrote Lola, Mercury & the Mummerettes, but I'm happy to change the others too). Hopefully a few of the issues you've mentioned are fixed with this update. Please feel free to comment (I love your Scarf Action!) What do you think of the Haze effects now? It should be much more balanced (to my mind anyways) Cheers I'm also going to start a new thread for week 2. NEW THREAD STARTED, PLEASE POST THERE!!
  18. Great to have you on board zFiend. We should have the next weeks cards up maybe tomorrow or the next day! I would also be up for some Vassalfaux. Unfortunately I have a 10 month old who enjoys eating up my hobby time... I'll let you know if/when I have time!
  19. Some things I noted, How did Yamaziko get - so easily? She's Wp7 all she needs is a 2 (on turn 2) to pass the duel. It was - to attack if you fail + to Df if you pass. Did Mercury use Don't Stop Me Now when Misaki killed him? By my count he was in range of Misaki,Izamu and a Torakage, making killing him a risky move. Also, what if we make I Want to Break Free after damaging? That ties in with his lowish Df. why didn't Lola use the triggers to escape the Torakage?
  20. I'll have the cards updated tonight when I usually message you Kalkris. Otherwise, Jtaurus, if you PM me your email, I'll send them directly. The crew should be a bit more potent this week!
  21. At the moment, what I'm thinking is adding everything to the models, then seeing what we can trim if it's (likely) too much. Squeal! will most definitely not be baked in anyways.
  22. Thanks for the playtest there JTaurus! Glad you could get a game in! We'll have the updates done soon, just discussing them with Kalkris. Could you post your opponent's crew and a basic synopsis of the game? That would be truly awesome! For the Haze do you think if we capped it at +3 and then upped the TN's by 1-2 it would help? What did you do with Lizzy? Did you just sit back & Lure or did you use her other tricks too? (Basically I don't want Lure to be her only shtick, but a part of her arsenal)
  23. I feel the need to respond to this as I'm one of the main people involved. I'm really confused about the problem of making homebrew rules. For me, creating my own characters and rules is part of the fun of wargaming. Yes I come from a GW background from when it was completely normal and encouraged to make your own rules. One of my joys was going through all the fandexes out there (I even made my own Norse Armybook for Fantasy. Point is writing rules for some people is fun. Wyrd has the best balanced game I've played but why should that stop me making rules and having fun. That's like telling people they can't make their own paint schemes. None of what we're doing is designed to be offensive to Wyrd, quite the opposite. The models and fluff are inspiring us to do this.
