  1. Do we know what the schemes and strats will be for Gen Con 2019 ?
  2. Wyrd customer service is amazing... problem solved.
  3. Who is going to Gen Con 2017? Also remember the "unofficial, official" Pub Crawl can be found at @WyrdPubCrawl. Cheers!
  4. Hello Everyone, Not sure if this is the right forum, but didn't know where the post elsewhere. When will be available the presale to new models at Gencon? Because - at the moment - store is offline and/or password protected Any info?
  5. Howdy all, this is my first time to go to GenCon with the full on Malifaux bug. A couple of friends and I recently got neck deep into the game, and we are on the hunt for some fun ancillary stuff to check out during GenCon. Are there any other booths of note that we should make sure to swing by for stuff like tokens, terrain, storage, etc? Essentially anything that isn't at the Wyrd booth. Thanks in advance.
  6. Hello all! F3armonger and TTPH2009 here (aka George and Tera) we will once again be heading to GenCon this year doing some demos and just general support. We will continue on the normal tradition of the being the official unofficial Wyrd Pub Crawl during your time at Gen Con. If you ever want to see where we are at or where we are drinking / grabbing some munchies (as Tograth) would say just find us at @WyrdPubCrawl on twitter. Cheers and see you there!
  7. So I made a bet in which I stated that I would use whatever Master is released as a nightmare edition box at this years Gencon in this years U.K. Nationals tournament. We know that Guild won the Kythera event, so it will be a Guild box that is due to be released! But that's all we know... I've started a blog over at http://brutalefficacy.blogspot.co.uk to document the journey to the Nationals with a master and crew I've no idea about yet.
  8. I haven't been to Gencon in a few years but it seems like Wyrd always have a "Big" release at the con...is that going to be "The otherside" this year or something else?
  9. Here was my main entry for the Gencon MHE competition this year. Every year, I spend a lot of time painting a few minis, then enter any gaming miniatures I have that fit the categories. He got a gold award from the main competition, received a judge's choice award, and took home the 4th place Dark Sword trophy. I really love this mini- the biggest trouble I had painting him up was that Jim (owner of Darksword) owns a fantastic version of him painted by Zach Lanier. A lot of the decisions that I made on him kept this sort of meta-thinking in mind (ie, when Jim and Jess were judging the contest, I didn't want them to be comparing him to Zach's mini too much). I think I came out with an interpretation of this mini that is all my own. I've also posted him to Coolmini, for anyone who cares to vote.
  10. Okay, so: The Dark Carnival is coming out for GenCon, as a proxy crew for Colette's standard loadout (Colette, 3 Mechanical Doves, Cassandra, 2 Performers, and 2 Mannequins). We are getting a number of named models, themed after a circus troupe described in detail in the latest Wyrd Chronicles (images for the crew box are also in that issue). The Dark Carnival proxies as Colette, as mentioned above. I am not satisfied with that alone. What I have been tossing about as an idea both on this forum and on AWP is the idea of being amateur (or better!) devs and betatesters, all of us, and creating our own set of rules for Mr. Cooper and his Dark Carnival. And that we did. Now we are onto Stage 2 of this wonderful journey of ours: Playtesting. If you have been watching this space with great interest (or any interest at all, even), you probably have done so with the interest of playtesting this unofficial crew. That, or you probably just want to watch our process and progress. We finished the brainstorm rather early, and now it is the public's turn to give as much feedback as they desire. Unfortunately, I got a reply from Aaron Darland about getting this crew ruleset into the Chronicles and he said that between people skimming the Chronicles for things, and people just plain not reading the Chronicles, it wouldn't reach a wide enough audience and those it would reach may accidentally take the crew as solicited and official. So, the Chronicles is out, but I'm still by all means down to do this! Hope you are too. If you are comfortable working on a set of custom rules for casual games, and willing to make a constructive contribution, please feel free to join in on this great adventure. ~~~~~ DISCLAIMER: This project is not in any way supported or endorsed by Wyrd Games. 11. I just wanted to post here and say the 12-hour Through the Eyes of the Ram event at Gencon was wonderful. We had a great crew of players, and for it being my first exposure to TTB, the system ran smooth! The mystery around the death of poor Guardsman Emmanuel played out wonderfully, and our GM was great in throwing in a bunch of Malifaux fan service at just the right times. A shoutout to all involved and if I ever GM my own TTB game, Javier Ortega will ride again!
  12. Hello everyone, I've been asked by the folks at Wyrd to help run the Malifaux tournament events at Gencon this year. 13. So I have been playing Warmachine for about a year and some friends I have been playing with are involved in Muse on Mini's Crutch Free 2012. http://museonminis.com/crutch-free-2012/ I am still a little too new to the game for this but I was wondering if anyone was interested in trying this out with Malifaux. Now I realize that this is horribly timed with GenCon right around the corner, but I think that makes it that much more impressive. So I will start. Last year at GenCon I placed 6th in Master of Malifaux with Leveticus. I will not run Levi this year at all, and if 15 forum users join me I will drop Alyce as well (I crutch on her pretty hard with Ramos). So...Who's in? 14. Hello everyone! Wyrd has asked me to step up and help them coordinate and run the Puppet Wars events at Gencon 2012. I know tickets went up for sale yesterday (Sunday, 5/20) and we are already seeing some of the PW events booking. There will be Puppet Wars demo's running all through the Gencon weekend, in both the Exhibitor Hall and in the Miniature hall. I am really looking forward to seeing a lot of players who we demo'ed for last year returning with their sets, painted up and looking to pull some stitches from other players! In addition to the open play and demo's, we have three very exciting events covering all styles of Puppet Wars play. Thursday @ 4pm - Puppet Wars Draft Event #1 Game ID: BGM1233993 Rounds: 3 Rounds Seats Available: 16 (12 tickets remaining) Cost: $8 Player Pack: Gencon PW Draft Event Thursday Player Pack.pdf Description: Wyrd’s Puppet Wars Draft Event is a great opportunity for both new and experienced Puppet Wars players to sit down for a relaxing and casual Puppet War. 16 players will be split among 4 Puppet Wars boards for a series of 4 player games. Puppets and Materials will be provided for this event, with each player drafting their Puppet Crew at the start of each game. Puppet Wars Draft Event will provide new players an opportunity to play with Puppets they are not familiar with, while giving experienced players a chance to try out new puppet combinations. Leave your Thimbles and Needles at home; this event is for the casual player. Saturday @ 5pm - Puppet Wars Draft Event #2 Game ID: BGM1234025 Rounds: 3 Rounds Seats Available: 16 (6 tickets remaining) Cost: $8 Player Pack:Gencon PW Draft Event Saturday Player Pack.pdf Description: Wyrd’s Puppet Wars Draft Event is a great opportunity for both new and experienced Puppet Wars players to sit down for a relaxing and casual Puppet War. 16 players will be split among 4 Puppet Wars boards for a series of 4 player games. Grab your Thimbles, Sharpen your Needles, and pack some extra stuffing because this one is for all the buttons! 16 players will enter the Thimbledome, playing 2 rounds of 4 player qualifiers before being divided into 2 player matches for the finals. So there it is, the line-up of PW events this year. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Q: If I have not played Puppet Wars before, could I play in the Draft Events? A: Absolutely! The Draft Events are set-up for all skill levels, from those who just got a demo and learned the basics to those who have been playing Puppet Wars since last Gencon! Sign up and grab a spot, the Draft Events will be fun for everyone! Q: Do my puppets need to be painted for the Draft or Thimble Dome events? A: The simple answer is yes. That is not the best answer however. [*=1]For the Draft events Wyrd will be providing all the puppets required to play. All you need to do is show up to participate. [*=1]For the Thimble Dome you need to provide your own puppets, which much be painted. In addition, your Puppets must be based on the Button bases included with your puppets or a similar creative base. (I know several people who based their puppets on actual buttons... way cool!) Q: All the Puppet Wars Demo's are sold out online but the game sounds really cool. Is there a way to get a Demo while at Gencon? A: Absolutely!!! There will be Demo's of Puppet Wars running all weekend at the Wyrd Booth in the exhibit hall. In addition, during any of the Puppet Wars events (Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) you can swing by the Miniature Hall event area and the team will work to get you a demo of how to play.
  15. Location: Neverland Games 4 E Main St. Waynesboro, PA 17268 (717)655-5347 Battle for GenCon Tournament First Prize: GEN CON Pass and Battlefoam Malifaux Bag! Online registration here: http://www.tabletoptournaments.net/us/t3_tournament.php?tid=7850 Other Prizes based upon number of entries. Prizes for Sportsmanship and Painting. 35SS Fixed Faction Disparity Format Tournament Painting: Each player will choose a 35SS crew of their chosen faction to enter for the painting contest All rules will follow the Malifaux Rules Manual and the Gaining Ground Tournament Guidelines All players must have v2 stat cards for the models that have been updated, these are available to download for free, so there's no excuse to not have them. Neverland Proxy Rule: Players are allowed to proxy models for which they have already fielded one of each non-limited edition sculpt for that model. This means that yes, the model must be released, but no, you don't have to field 30 mindless zombies using the same 3 boring sculpts. You must have a stat card for each proxy, and must state what the proxy is for to your opponent prior to the start of the game. Any slow playing that is perceived by the judge to affect the outcome of a game will cause a warning for sportsmanship. Please be prepared to play at a reasonable pace. So don't use crews that you've never used before. If you have any questions, please call the store, or message me on the forums
  16. Not sure where really to post this so Moderators feel free to move. I attended last year my first Gen Con and loved it. I noticed other than the Wyrd booth (which i spent way more money than I had budgeted ) there were empty tables in the card hall where a few people played miniatures game including Malifaux. Is this where the forum people will be meeting, greeting and playing? If not where and when. We have our gaming club from up north Canada going done to play.
