  1. This was looked at, back during the kickstarter, but I think that the end answer was, no its not possible to do this in a practical way.
  2. If you were trying to break protection money you probably did it with dead outlaws and guilty to get 10 cards in a turn in your own deployment zone, it's just healing the guilty to keep it alive I'm unable to figure...
  3. Reva summons her corpse candles every turn, seamus can summon belles if you use his title version, mcmourning still summons flesh constructs, kirai still summons spirits, and yan lo can reanimate his ancestors Sebastian still summons canine remains and asura is now the main zombie summoner. Even von stock and hack daw have a little summoning potential in their crews. So the faction is still through summoning faction but each keyword does it its own way, with separate options. So zombie raising is less common, but summoning is in almost every keyword Levi, well he now has his waifs more as extra lives rather than his whole style about killing him every turn. The theme is still the same, but the implementation is more " balanced"
  4. Whilst scheme markers can equal VP, I think you are also missing the point that if I can drop enemy scheme markers, I can be denying VP as well. In most cases the scheme marker needs to be in a fixed position. If I can drop a marker nearby, then you can't use the interact action to drop a marker in the right spot to score. In general most crews can't move markers and can't drop scheme markers without taking the interact action. The markers dropped by Takers bane could easily be adding a 2 or 3 action penalty to you being able to score (walk to marker, interact to remove, walk to the right spot). There are certainly crews and models that can take advantage of them, and will gain a much greater benefit from them, but in general a good player placing an enemy scheme marker is something that is either neutral or detrimental to the enemy in its own right, so not really a cost. (Even more so here than with drop it as here, the marker doesn't even need to be in base contact with the target) My understanding of the current FAQ is that the phrase "another model..." would mean not the target of the action "...(not this model)... " means not the model resolving the text, so Koji in this case. So My loyal servant can't heal the target or Koji. But doesn't this in part justify why Bandits have a clunky way of doing it? We give someone a non-clunky way to do it, and suddenly the world falls over. (I don't think any bandit power is as good as protection money (now they have lost that as an option), but the crew could be dropping more enemy scheme markers per turn than this even with 4 wind punch, this might be a problem).
  5. There isn't a maximum regeneration value. And it's an ability with a + so you do just add all values together.
  6. I would be surprised if it replaced 50ss. It might become popular as a faster game, but I don't see just 2 master actions becoming popular. I used to really enjoy randomly determining game size ( we flipped a number of cards to determine size) as a way to disrupt fixed list building, so it could well be a way to try and reset the meta.
  7. Enemy is from the point of view of the model its written on, so in this case who ever you shoot it's an enemy scheme marker to koji
  8. I think your quote is the default, but there are things in the game that can change it, such as enemy controlling the action and an action specifying you are dropping an enemy marker.
  9. You are right, if you cast black blood pustules at a model with shielded, all that would happen is the shielded would be reduced by 1. FAQ answer 22 is talking about actions and abilities that have a cost of taking damage ( so the take damage is written in italics at the start of the action/ability). So if you somehow gave a blood hunter armour+1 and shielded+1 then when you did its regurgitate action, the cost of suffering 2 damage is paid, even though one is reduced by armour and 1 is reduced by shielded so the blood hunter doesn't actually take any damage but still does generate a corpse.
  10. Santaclaws01 is right, the printed rule is in step 7. "If this replace occurred during an original models activation, one new model instead continues that activation using any remaining actions" So step 7 tells you that if the replace happens to the model that is currently activating, the new model will continue the activation. That is where the rules tell us that in this example the duet will continue the activation and be allowed to do 2 more actions.
  11. Anotehr important point to note is that whilst the model is forced to take an interact action, the owner of the model decides what the interact action is going to do. They can choose to remove all scheme markers in base contact if they wish, even if there are no markers in base contact. If they do choose to drop a scheme marker it will be friendly to them, and enemy to Journalists, and they will choose where the marker goes.
  12. Shadow is the most obvious reason to show that whilst the sight lines drawn between the 2 models are the same, the line of sight outcomes can be different. I can't think of another example, but I wouldn't be surprised if some models do have an ability that also chnaged the LOS outcome. So I don't think Line of sight is strictly reciprocal, its just that in 99% of the cases both models would get the same outcome, so if one has LOS, the other has LOS.
  13. I think you're right, broodfighter only pushes if it's broodfighter over healing. Almost like they didn't want barbaros to do 10+ inches of push in that first 2 activations without him even activating...
  14. That sounds like it should work according to the rules, he can take the action and draw range from Calypso, so its in range.
  15. The section on page 13 tells us how vertical heigh would change things, and that tells us that you do the height minus the size of the lower object.
  16. No problem. This bit I think only applies when a rule asks if one number is higher or lower than half another number. I can only think of it applying to health at the moment for things such as assainate and grit where 3 is less than half of 7 and 4 is more than half of 7.
  17. I don't think the rounding rules for the dreamer changed at all, it is still rounded up as a default, and vivid dreams doesn't change that. It wasn't listed as an exception. That's from the new errata, I can't see any questions in the FAQs that apply, and that would give a different answer but I could have missed it.
  18. Yes it can remove any marker

    Madness

Yes. 1.7.0 has madness cards. I have settings on download automatic on wi-fi and they showed up fine.
  20. Im pretty sure it's a no. You can't ever legally have the model in that position. It should always have the base parallel to the ground/terrain it's on.
  21. Wyrd certainly used to not update its online store for a few weeks after a physical release, so if it was a December release I would not expect it in the Web store till mid January at least. The best I can say is that weyland games claim they have it in stock, which suggests wyrd have sold it to distributors. The mechanism of something sold by wyrd making it to a lgs is something of a mystery In terms of which distributors buy it, which shipping they pay for, and what they tell the lgs in the mean time, so its possible that the distributor that your LGS use either has chosen not to buy these slightly more obscure products, or they may have bought some but not paid for as fast shipping as weyland do, so don't know when they will physically get their copies, so don't give a date to the lgs. Or it could be something else entirely.
  22. That's lazy counting! On the assumption the ability to hire neurotoxins means you have greater poison synergy ( which appears to be the criteria) the list presumably goes McCabe, Maxine Molly Marcus Mei Feng Mcmourning Mah tucket Misaki I can easily see mcmourning above Mei, even though he has more effort to hire neurotoxin. ( I also assume you didn't count McCabe, but I think he is most commonly referred to as McCabe, so if you are counting Dr Douglas Mcmourning as an M, I'd include lucas McCabe, but I wouldn't count Lucius Matheson. I don't know why but, there are some masters that are first names, even when we know the surname, and others that are surname based even when we know the first name) ( but then I'd still argue that if you wanted to build a poison themed list, experimental is the best of those 8 keywords to do so, even if it is missing easy access to the strongest poison based ability, neurotoxin 😉).
  23. I'm fairly sure that the order should be as written on the card, so if you managed to work out some strange way that the holders of remote detonation could target themselves with it (at the moment neither are undead) then they would be killed before they were able to draw a card. So if an effect was "push a model and then pulse out damage", you would have to push the model before the damage pulse, you couldn't do the damage pulse and then push the model.
  24. Sorry, I know when previously I have looked for it, I end up finding it on some archived webpage, rather than on the new site (now about 7 years old I think), and that was a couple of years ago. I can't see it at the moment.
  25. My first response would be I think you're looking at the process backwards compared to how Wyrd do it. I think they design the models and after that is done they think of a keyword that connects them. The keyword isn't really anything more than a game term to connect the group. The Friekorps are a mercenary company, their whole purpose is to be hired to do jobs for other people, but they don't have the keyword Mercenary, because in M3 Mercenary doesn't mean "model that is 'for hire' for a price by anyone", it means model that works with the Viktorias. So from that I don't think they tried to make the models fit the term 'acedemic', they looked for a term to fit the 'teaching' that the Acedemic models do. The university of Transmortis is probably thematically closer to 'acedemic', but it contains a mixture of teachers and students, where as the current Acedemic keyword is all about 'teachers' who impart their wisdom to their students (who are all elemental creatures, which is a little strange). The oxfordian mage has the slightly bizzare issue that it was a model that existed before Sandeep existed, and originally it didn't tie into Sandeep at all, so its not too surprising that it doesn't fit the Sandeep aesthetics. They are in the slightly awkward cheap support model slot that seems to either be almost too good (Guild mage) or "never hire". I think that they were a fairly common hire when the keyword first came out, but over time they have become less relevant. Thats true of a lot of models and depending on how relevant you want all the models to be, you could certainly make the case that they should be improved, but thats potentially a huge undertaking. Finally, this edition has done away with dual faction outside masters/totems, but it doesn't need it as a concept. If you were to make a lightening bug Acedemic for example, Sandeep could hire it even though it's not an arcanist model. The likely reason models don't get the keyword added to them is game balance. (And also to some degree player purchasing. One of the biggest purchasing complaints I see is the need to buy the Zipp box to get the swampfiend First mate. Sandeep already has a pretty convoluted purchase plan borrowing from 3 other keywords in faction for elementals, he probably doesn't want for people to have to go and buy too many boxes from other factions). So yes, I agree that teh Keyword Academic is not a good description of the models, but if I wanted to try and make the models "Acedemic" I would probably start by removing the elemental link they have, because thats probbaly the part that most doesn't fit to me. That and the fact I think they are spiritual teachers rather than intellectual teachers. But then you are headign very close to the 'monk' style of teachings in the game.
