This guy is cutely evil. A fun start to someone's painting career. Keep at it!
Great start! Not sure the voodoo doll belongs in the "Undead" category, but welcome to Malifaux!
Well... it's the step we all know - when you try and make things done
Obviously a beginner. I'd use less saturated colors all over the model. For example use desaturated tones on the base to attract focus to the doll.
well, this mini is so tiny that the orange render is already pretty good at this scale.

first step is completing a piece & posting it, then keep leveling up your painting.

An artistic rendition love it. The photo is a bit blurry so I think some nuances might be lost to the viewer.

In fact, participation in painting contests is very cool, regardless of the result. Firstly, it means that a person is not afraid of participation, criticism, and wants to improve his skill further. Secondly, it is a valuable experience.
As for the thumbnail itself, I would advise taking photos on a neutral gray background - this way they will turn out better regardless of the camera settings. Sometimes a black or white background may look more advantageous, but it is noticeably more difficult to work with them. Also, it is worth diluting the paint more and painting more carefully - at the first stages, accuracy gives a great result.
