SBrunner
So I have the Lucius box set, and I want to make up a Neverborn crew for him. I have a lot of models that will work, but I was thinking of increasing my options theme-wise awaiting release of the second wave. I was thinking sort of underworld/criminal. The Scribe fits, and I think it can be taken no matter the faction? Tannen and Graves fit very well theme wise I think. Definitely thinking some Beckoners. Guild members could be cool if the upgrade is taken. Lawyer would look cool with this crew. Other than than that, Coppelius? Nephilim? Thoughts? Druso
Candy!! that pretty girl fits nice with Lucius crew since she is a "Mimic"
Joel
Doppleganger too
Mastershake
The problem with the above, is that Lucius is almost entirely a minion buffer. Issue Command only targets minions, Commanding Presence only targets minions, Guild Intelligence only buffs minions as does Elite Training and his red tape trigger, while it does affect the enemy attacking mimics, also extends to minions of any type. Doppelganger, Coppelius, Graves and Tannen are all enforcers and Candy is a Henchman. Having one or two models on a stretch that aren't minions isn't bad, but a whole crew of them leaves Lucius with literally nothing to do. Beckoners are a good choice, since their mimics, match the theme and are also minions as are Lawyers. Someone like Candy wouldn't be a bad idea, but you have to remember that Lucius does almost nothing personally and relies on having things to order around to impact the game.
Myth
I actually kinda like the idea of just running a Lucius Brilliance crew - just fill it with Beckoners and Illuminated, and maybe bring Graves as a bit of a bodyguard for use with Secret Service / Useless Duplications. Lucius being able to give extra commands - and move people around - can work really well with the Brilliance mechanic, since it means he can command a Beckoner to put Brilliance on an enemy, and then command an Illuminated to hit that enemy and take advantage of the Brilliance.

Tried it, but Lynch still runs the crew better. Lucius comes into his own when you get Guild shooting mixed with Neverborn melee.
SBrunner
@Mastershake good advice. I was contemplating whether to take the upgrade that allows guild forces. Now I am thinking Beckoners and Tannen for theme and other reasons along with some guild minions. Still can't decide if I want to use a henchman. Side note: should it be Lucius at Honeypot Casino? daemonkin
Guild Guard or riflemen or even an austringer or Warden would be lovely with Lucius in Neverborn. D.
Seb3110
3-2-1 hijack! Have been messing around with the same thought as posted in this post, and haev come up with some sort of list, what say the people of the forum? Should hopefully have a little bit of everything Neverborn Crew - 50 - Scrap Lucius -- 6 Pool +Secret Assets [2] +Suprisingly Loyal [1] Guild Austringer [6] Mr. Graves [8] +Pact [1] Mr. Tannen [6] Stitched Together [6] Stitched Together [6] Warden [6] Warden [6] I am aware that 6ss is a bit much when Lucius is the only user, so what whould you switch out/in to maybe make it fit a bit better? Was thinking that "issue command" on "Gamble your life" would be fairly good potentionally
tunagami
What about a terror tot for more scheme dropping?
4thstringer
In my guild crew I have been loving the rifleman with Lucius, when he can get a second focuses shot in a turn, he really shines.

If you're playing Guild, I guess you settle for a bad Illuminated, but when you can take Illuminated, well...hey it also solves your 6ss problem since trading out the two Wardens for Illuminated gets you back to the base cache. Also, make Pact into Legalese, that upgrade is really good for 1ss and Pact is pretty questionable.
Seb3110
Actually took them for the chance to paralyze Im fairly sure that between Stitched, Graves and Austringer i do have some damage to kill off pesky targets.
Vorschlag
I tend to avoid illumindated simply because the fluff bothers me, I've found the warden (positive terror flips/ paralyse) and the riflemen very useful especially with tannen in the crew. I have never had graves make up his stones and have found the path finder rather useful, the beckoners are nearly auto (I plan on converting them into 18th century dresses to act as Lucius' courtesans) the doppleganger as much as I like it has never worked for me. Candy can be great, the captain works well in guild and okay in neverborn, the widow weaver in her fine gown has attended more than one of Lucius' parties and also been able to do well for herself. Stitched I havn't tried but kind of want to even though the fluff does not feel right and the Austringer is....the Austringer.
HtUnliving
Lucius, Lawyer, Scribe and two Riflemen... Fun times in Neverborn.

Lucius burns through suits really fast. A model that on average heals 3 every turn with marginal cards is a great devil's deal target on top of having good threat ranges, good damage tracks, and being able to survive a surprising amount of punishment. I am actually a big Warden fan myself as I find their damage output often catches people by surprise for their cost. When they are targetting something that has already activated that base damage 3 due to critical strike is big. I have had problems in the past with Illuminated just not hitting hard enough with their weaks to get the pressure going *though Flay can help cheat that moderate 4, but the Warden is 4 moderate as well if I picked my target well*. The difference though is I am more a Warden/Illuminated person, I like having both. I like using them similar to how I would use Illuminated and Waldgeist together in my Zoraida Lists. The times I don't take Wardens with Lucius is when I want to get 3-4 Guild Hounds in.
