Yosh
"DF ©Cage Fighter: After an Ml attack fails against this model, this model deals damage 1/2/4 to the Attacker." I have one question about this ability: is this always a straight flip for damage?
0 CrouchingMoose
Yes, I believe so since it mentions nothing about using the duel totals as a guage for the damage flip generated by the Cage Fighter Trigger.

0 Adran
I would assume that it is normally a straight damage flip as nothing says otherwise. Hard to wound would make it a negative flip as per normal. If the damage flip is straight, its cheatable as per the rules for damage flips. 0 Barnaberible
The ability says deals 1/2/4 damage to the attacker, not make a damage flip dealing 1/2/4 damage to the attacker so I would debate if you can cheat it or not. In 1.5 some models with this kind of thing had a 'this flip cannot be cheated' on the end of the sentance
0 Mike3838
Every attack action in the game merely says "deals X/Y/Z damage". You're surely not debating whether those can be cheated.....?
0 Adran
The beta rule book says that damage with an a/b/c is a damage flip, and that damage flips may be cheated (subject to normal restrictions) Damage can be inflicted either in a Static amount such as damage (Dg) 4, or in a variable amount through a damage flip. A damage flip is indicated as three numbers separated by slashes (such as Dg 1/3/5) with the amount of Damage dealt depending on the value of the card flipped. A model may Cheat Fate on a damage flip with the same restrictions as any other flip. Page
0 zFiend
There are some similar abilities with a sentence that flip may not be cheated if I remember correctly?
0 rgarbonzo
Lady J's riposte is the one trigger that I compared it to and that one receives a modifier so that it cannot be cheated. RAW yes Bishop can cheat the damage flip for his Cage Fighter.
0 hypoking
I'm not sure that any made it through he beta. Only one that comes to mind was the hammmer-to-the-face version of soulless. Repost is theoretically cheatable if you can overcome the hardwired negative. Still, I'm not sure if similar abilities would be pertinent here. Unless they're actually called cage fighter there's no reason to assume they should function identically. Compare the wide range of squeeel triggers and Mei Fong's leap aside, similair concept with a swath of functional differences.
0 rgarbonzo
True but Riposte was the first thing that came to mind with a similar mechanic. It is also similar to the Executioners "love the job" ability which gives it a healing flip after killing an enemy model. There is no imposed negative so yes the flip can be cheated.
