zFiend
Thanks! Well... probably never. I use the puppet in her stead. The next thing I'll be painting is a trio of Punk Zombies. They're assembled, their heads shaved, and they're waiting on my desk. I bought the Nicodem box in the Black Friday sale, and it's time to give it some attention. Can't wait to see your Punk Zombies. Why did they get a haircut?
Gujozec
Oh, just to make them look a bit less modern I guess.
Gujozec
Well, it's been a while and the Punk Zombies are still waiting. :/ But I have something else to show: This Hamelin avatar and the Taxidermist are my entries for the Wyrd painting competition over at Wamp forum. They both fall among my favourite Malifaux minis. The Taxidermist especially was a real joy to paint.
cdhay
I absolutely adore that Hamelin model and you really have done him justice. His pipe snapped off in transit for me which is such a shame
Gujozec
Thanks! A similar thing happened to me - when i got him the pipe was terribly bent, and when I tried to make it straight it snapped off. Rebuilding the blasted thing was quite a task. cdhay
Haha in fact that was exactly what happened to me. How did you go about fixing it. I just tried glueing a paperclip but that has since fallen off too
Gujozec
I had to drill into the hands (damaging them a bit in the process), then glue a pin into the hole and build the flute around it with green stuff (and fix the damaged fingers). It was all very fiddly, but I managed in the end.
cdhay
Sounds too much effort for me. He might just have to play a mini flute.....
Demonn Agram
that's an extra effort well worth, Ana. (talking about the flute)honestly I like the Taxidermist better, but I love the (now already trademark) Gujozec chequers pattern on the Hamelin mini!well done, it'll be tough to beat that (and good luck in the competition!) Gujozec
The first Punk Zombie joins the crew: I'm also working on a couple more Belles for Seamus to summon. The old metal ones are a bit bigger, but they don't clash too much with the plastics (especially if they have a matching colour scheme). I have one finished so far. That's her among the other girls: And this lot is still in the early stages:
underdog6750
Love the eyes on the punk zombie. Great little touch to a really nicely painted mini Fan of Game of Thrones? Reminds me a bit of the white walkers
Demonn Agram
getting ready for tomorrow I see...
Gujozec
@Demonn - Yes, indeed. @UNDERDOG - Thanks! I didn't have the White Walkers in mind when I did the glow, though. I simply needed a patch of green somewhere on the mini as a spot colour, and I didn't want it to be on his clothing. This made my choices very limited. NoHero
Wanted to also say the glowing eyes are fantastic! They really make the model stand out and I think the flesh is really well done too.
zFiend
Really nice looking! They look a bit more brutal after the haircut, works really well! I love your green color scheme.
spectrehorseman
I agree, love those glowing eyes. And here I was trying to come up with a way to do that...
Viruk
Love the paintjob on the Punk Zombie, the gore and glow effects are exceptionally well done.

Gujozec
Thanks, everyone! Done a bit more in the meantime: Flesh Construct Rotten Belle #5 Punk Zombie #2
Guardian
Like the glowey(sp?) eyes! How come only punk zombies have glowey eyes?
Gujozec
Cheers, Guardian and Morray. @Guardian- well, they just look better with glowing eyes. They needed something like that, they looked dull without it. I considered giving the Flesh construct glowy eyes too, but I decided it could do without that. Who knows, perhaps I was wrong; in any case I'll test it on my next Flesh Construct. My Mindless Zombies and Canine Remains (when I get them) will also glow. But Dead Doxies, for instance, won't. @Morray- when painting the glow, I first filled the eye-sockets with watered-down paint, the way one would apply a wash. When that was dry I added highlights and blended the edges a bit with the surrounding skin.
