Neverectionist
why does no-one else use him? 9 soulstones seems abit much, i know, but he's impossable to kill, he gives you an extra control card and possably another vp, i would have thought for tournaments he would be a definate?! Lucidicide
He's far from impossible to kill. Against anything with decent magic damage, you'll ditch a lot of cards to keep him alive. Against anything that can sacrifice, he'll just straight up die. An extra card in hand is nice, but not 9ss nice. He's not that great at killing things on his own (thus limiting the chance of the extra VP). In my opinion, his greatest strength is his no cheating aura, which requires him to be in the right place, at the right time, with the right suit. Does he have other uses? Yes, definitely. But I think he's got enough going on that you won't see a lot of him.
Sholto
If I had assassinate against a melee-oriented Master, I might take him. It has worked against Lady J for me in the past, where I can position Jack Daw so that Lady J is in his no-cheating no-SS aura and then attacked Lady J with impunity and killed her. He is a very specialised tool and you need just the right job to justify bringing him (I am ignoring Hanged lists as I don't play Ressers). JayBarlekamp
I wish my opponents would bring Jack more often against my gremlins. it's like free vp and a 9 pt penalty to my opponent
FoolWithTheFez
I love Jack Daw. I use him quite often with Pandora and Zoraida, but he isn't a "general use" model. When you take him, you have to tailor your whole crew and play style towards getting the most out of him or he is a 9 ss liability
011121
Anyone use him specifically because he lets you hire hanged? I could see a very thematic Jack plus hanged crew, but i have no idea how effective they'd be.
Zachilles
Jack is one of my go to models with Kirai, I have nothing to contribute for outcasts though
Sarsnick
Jack Daw is not used because he is considered slow and vulnerable to everything people usually take.
fritz the cat
ive used him effectively with seamus and other terrifying/wp effects. Outside of that I dont think hes worthwhile for the card/no cheat aura alone. not for 9ss atleast
Hateful Darkblack
I love Jack Daw. I use him pretty regularly for my Leveticus Crew, and sometimes with aZoraida, too. I am also planning to try, sometime soon, a five-faction crew with Colette, C. Hoffman, Mobile Toolkit, Coryphee Duet, Coppelius, Jack Daw, and The Hanged. But I gotta wait until my Nightmare The Hanged shows up. Edited August 28, 2012 by Hateful Darkblack
011121
that crew idea neatly straddles the line of insane and genius.

xeth1313
I used Jack rather effectively in a list with Zoriada at a tournament. In fact I think he may have actually won me the two matches I used him in. I was hangman's knotting units into melee range with Collodi's deathball. My favorite part was when I used it to pull a unit out of melee and into the middle of the field then I let loose with Uncontrollable Firing and Aethritic Bolts. thaehl
Wound not Mr. Daw be quite strong in a list with the following basic set up? Pandora Jack Daw The Hanged X2 Just an idea, with Pandora removing any immunities to will duels and daw and the hanged moving as offensive pieces especially if there is a hanging tree in play? How playable would this list be in your minds? I haven't used Daw personally, just looking for an excuse to play my nightmare hanged. Korrosion
That is a LOT of ss tied up in Jack and the Hanged. I think the ss spent on the Hanged could be better used else where considering that Jack says they can't cheat where he is.
thaehl
That's true, really it's a big investment. It would be great as a semi-casual list. I think it could be fun. I just think I want an excuse to buy Pandora : ) I have every other Neverborn, might as well. Ill always be a Hammy player at heart.
S3agu11s
The only time i've ever really used Jack Daw is when i have Treasure Hunt. I dont care about other things dieing so can burn my cards to keep him alive whilst he trudges back with the treasure chest. Otherwise i've not really seen why you would use him. I know he has some neat tricks but he can also be a liability if he turns side.
