  1. Yan Lo is a complex master with a lot of ways to play him. There is a good summary of what he does and how he works at http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/Yan+Lo so I would direct you there.
  2. I am hoping for V2 Molly to be Miss Underestimated.
  3. If you find the plastics easier to assemble, (I find the metals easier) I would go with The Thunder (Misaki -- kung fu and ninjas) vs Relic Hunters (McCabe -- treasure hunter who rides a horse or dismounts wielding a bullwhip, has a pet mastiff and some allies) and expand as desired.
  4. I don't think so because he didn't use his Cb to strike, and the defensive duel doesn't count for that either as it's only using the combat total-- the numeric differerence-- AS IF he had hit-- to determine what sort of +/- flip to make. So no Rams anywhere. That said, I don't have the card in front of me, and I feel like "as if" interactions are always weird to grok.
  5. I live quite a bit north of there, in Fairfax. But in the region I suppose, for certain values of "region." I typically game at Victory Comics in Falls Church, VA but have been known to occasionally roam.
  6. Well, I would absolutely NOT recommend Leveticus for new players. Even if they can wrap their heads around him, they would still have to relearn the game when moving to another master. But to start him within that budget, I would recommend: his box, Hollow Waif and Canine Remains (basically mandatory), and then probably Ashes and Dust (or one of the Riders if A&D is out of your price range.) Ramos I would pick up his box, Electrical Creation, Mobile Toolkit and his avatar (which is cheap for an avatar PLUS comes with Steampunk Arachnid Swarm/3 Steampunk Arachnids. Somer I don't see working so well within budget but Ophelia sure does! Pick up her box, Young Lacroix, Bayou Gremlins and you are basically there. Maybe add Slop Hauler, Burt or Wong.
  7. In Malifaux it's not instances of the same spell but rather of the same effect. I BELIEVE that as each possible effect of the spell has its own name, as long as different ones are used it's all good.
  8. Nice work; looks like a lot of fun! I'd love to give Ressercide a try!
  9. Sounds clever-- I will have to try it out!
  10. I think the distinction is that the choice is not an Action, which would be why you can decide to take lethal damage.
  11. Great start! Looks like this could be a very attractive board to play on!
  12. The ruling, IIRC was you can keep going til you miss the trigger, or some other factor stops you (such as the model you are attacking with Onslaught dies, as Onslaught only lets you attack again against the same model.)
  13. Ramos: Build things, manifest, build more things. Hamelin: Burn through your deck real quick. Viktorias: Slingshot sisters carve up some face. C. Hoffman: So many words on his card... Lilith: Speedy controller with strong melee attacks!
  14. Don't you select both your Leaders in a Brawl before you can hire minions, as you must follow the hiring restrictions of both? I think that is why; you don't have Vanessa in your crew yet when you select Masters.
  15. Leveticus: Die, die, die, die; protect Waifs. Molly: Heck if I know; good luck! Von Schill: Don't worry, this is easy mode.
  16. Psh, like blowing up buildings is a negative.
  17. Right, but a marker is not an effect, as demonstrated in second thread there.
  18. retty sure that's not correct, as it's not a separate damage flip but rather an add-on to a damage flip. Anyway, definitely uncheatable.
  19. Lilith is a very good master to learn the game with, and while she smashes face well she also has more subtle controller-type tricks you can eventually learn to use, which provides depth over the long term. I strongly recommend her. Pandora is good but much like Leveticus or Dreamer she is not good to learn Malifaux with as she plays very different than all other masters. Also, she can be tremendously unfun to play against for some people. Again, this is because Pandora sort of rewrites the rules of the game; it's cool but I strongly recommend against using her when learning the game or as your primary crew for casual games. Bottom line: I advise you to start with Lilith and once you have a firm grasp on the game, branch into Pandora. You will have a lot more fun that way.
  20. From what I hear, you really can't effectively strip a resin model without also dissolving the resin. Which is also toxic. Haven't tried myself, but that's my understanding.
  21. I mainly use Zap-A-Gap. Tried Loctite gel but I've had little luck with it; it just kinda stretches and strands everywhere. Maybe bad batch or environmental issue? Looking forward to trying more glues though!
  22. Would like to point out that instead of a Fate deck (esp on a tight budget as that) you can use a common playing deck (w Jokers in) and just remember: Hearts=Rams, Spades=Crows, Diamonds=Masks and Clubs=Tomes. Very hard to play Malifaux on $50 alone, unless you already have hobby supplies. But if you have more money coming in the future, it's enough to buy your initial crew and get a good start!
  23. I have to agree with Soundwave; best way to deal with Jakob and Darkness is to leave him alone and let him do what he wants to do. Save your winning for other masters. *evil*
  24. Well then there ya go. Doesn't stack, clearly not intended to. ---------- Post added at 06:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:30 PM ---------- Sure it does.
  25. UNLESS they are listed as model gains +X Foo. For example Armor +1 stacks with Armor +1 or Armor +2, and +1 Dg stacks with other Dg boosts regardless of name of ability. So question is does it say it gives "+1 AP", or "one additional AP" on Conduct Aether?
