Hjelmen
Hullo! Quicky question: if you flip the red joker on a flip (specifically damage flips, but any flip as well) can you cheat it with a lower card, given that you are allowed to cheat? Thank you! 0 dsmiles
I would think so, but... ... ...why?
0 Mondoz
If you were hitting your own model for some trigger and didn't want to hurt them much?
0 WindlordRyu
Sometimes you want a specific model to get the killing blow. Like if your strategy is Contain Power and one of your minions decides to deal massive damage to their leader. Or you have a near death Executioner nearby. Or want to kill something a certain way for a manifestation requirement.
0 tattyted
For example; Mcmourning wants to use dissection to kill a model to get 3 body parts then summon a flesh construct. Moderate damage is enough to kill most minions if they are already softened up, but you don't want to do severe damage as your activation would then end before you cast the summoning spell. 0 Hjelmen
Yep, those are some of the "why's" I cannot find anything in the rules that would speak against cheating (down) on a flipped Red Joker on a Damage flip (or any flip for that matter), but I wanted to get something more concrete, just in case I missed something in the rules. 0 Clousseau
In this context the red joker is just a 'normal' card. The only card that cannot be cheated is the black joker.
0 nerdelemental
Clousseau is correct. Only the Black Joker has a stipulation that it cannot be cheated.
0 Hjelmen
Good to know that I hadn't missed a little sentence somewhere :1_Happy_Puppet1: Thank you!
0 Leggo
Im sure it states Black Joker MUST be used on flips, and Red Joker MAY be used on flips. Given the rulings in the manual that things like CANNOT overrides CAN, it stands to reason that MUST overrides MAY.
0 Hjelmen
Sure, that's a given. But that doesn't really have much to do with cheating the Red Joker down, if you flipped it on a flip that is cheatable (i.e. no , no Black Joker or other effects that deny cheating). Or am I misunderstanding your post?
0 Fetid Strumpet
You also aren't required to ever take the red joker, unless it is the only card you flip, and even then you can cheat.
0 Leggo
MAY gives an option. I MAY choose one of several options, MAY choose a RJ, MAY choose a lower result, MAY cheat down. MUST forbids those options, as you MUST choose a BJ over a RJ, MUST choose the BJ over any other card, and MUST choose a BJ over cheating either up or down. But yes, I probably didn't describe myself in the greatest of fashions first time.
