  1. A 30mm Base + a Torakages melee range is more than 3". That means you can have a model in base to base with an enemy and still get the Works Best Alone bonus. to attack and damage flips is actually really good. The entire game lost a lot of it's mobility and durability. I think TT Brothers are bleh compared to Torakages since they got cuddled. Archers should stay away from places where they can get shot. Karimata Arrowheads makes them worth it. These models aren't obviously good, but when you put them on the table and don't get them killed fast (they die very easily to some thing) you'll notice what they can do.
  2. Start focusing on VP instead of just killing stuff. Teleporting 8" will give you more VP than killing stuff in most schemes/strategies. And you can win a game with your entire crew dead.
  3. Diestro doesn't give you an 8" teleport. It makes Perdita deal damage extremely reliably when the enemies are 12" closer to her than her max range. As long as Ophelia can teleport herself with the Threatening Gun it's just straight up better than Diestro on Perdita.
  4. A lot of it is probably because she's straightforward. I'd probably place her close to the top of the power curve (The Threatening Gun teleport is probably the best ability in the game), but you can't cuddle a straightforward master because more complicated masters has to do more work to do their thing (complicity ≠ power).
  5. Illusion Effigy, tricks and blending in seems to be the only thing the 10T's have in common. Movement shenanigans, maybe something Toraswap-like. (0) to give your Master some kind of defense vs projectile attacks. Luck Effigy, anything else the gremlins share in common would almost make it a Brewmaster model. Card Manipulation. (0) to give your Master a condition that forces your opponent to cheat first (nothing is more lucky than dodging by a hairs breadth).
  6. Masamune's a swordsmith, having more than one Masamune sword makes perfect sense.
  7. They just really like Lilith and her Transfixing Gaze. It's pretty much there to stop random immunities to effects like that as far as I can tell.
  8. Burning, Everburning then Pine Box. Something is now out of the way and dying, giving you a chance to Pine Box something else later.
  9. It's not like she's any worse of than other Masters with 6 card hands, all of them can draw really bad. It's not like she starts with 3 cards, and at least she can do something sensible with those 2's. Misaki just gives that "There not enough cards!" feeling to everyone.

Stand for Judgment is almost useless for getting enemies out of cover, it's push in a straight line directly toward the Judge and if they even slightly clip terrain with the edge of their base they just stop there. It's actually an ability you're supposed to use on your own models as a speed boost, because that's like 100 times easier.
  11. The only problem I saw with Death Marshals during the beta was "I'd rather have Guild Guard instead". Death Marshals got their Df buffed, which is fine I guess, but the main thing IMO is that GG got their weak damage lowered to 1 (and with Sh4 they will "always" do weak damage). Since they can't chip things to death with multiple 2's anymore this basically makes them incompetent at killing anything at all and turns them into Arrest/Interact bots. Which in turn gives the DM's their job back, objective grabber that's an actual threat to things.
  12. The Viks doesn't like Misdirection, they'll have to spend extra time to get around it. If you have it on Mei Feng you can SS for a mask and use Leap Away or Misdirection depending on how it turns out. Save high cards for Leap Away, they might be reluctant to cheat if you have misdirection, which will give you a chance to escape. If you want to get more models I'd go for Torakage, they seem to beat Ronin in my experience. You can't charge with them, but you can Rapid Fire Leaf Steps or Walk and engage them with your 2" range vs their 1".

She shouldn't be compared to Misaki because they do their thing (killing stuff) so differently that you have to take their crew, and therefore all models available to them, into account when trying to figure out if it's balanced. It's like adding Ramos into the mix and claiming he sucks because he can't reach their killyness. And how do you even compare Misaki's damage to Ophelia's. Trying to get actual numbers for Sudden Assassination becomes way to abstract when your opponent can discard cards or soulstones to stop the kill effect. Same with survivability, Misaki lives by avoiding hits altogether while Ophelia has access to a whole bunch of healing. How survivable they are depends almost entirely on what they're up against. Misaki can't actually Shadow Stride, it's minions only.
  14. I don't really see why you're trying to compare Ophelia and Misaki, they're basically as different as two combat masters can be. Perdita/Seamus, or even Sonnia/Rasputina, makes a lot more sense IMO. You don't compare pushes and places in this game. Especially not pushes directly toward another model. An 8" place is vastly superior to any kind of 8" push, even if it was a 1.5 push without a toward clause the place would still be a lot better. And even with perfect planning by the Perdita player it's not even close to the same. Perdita can only move in perfectly straight lines, with no terrain or models in the way, to a location that extremely stereotyped to your opponent. (Not trying to say Ophelia is OP, I'm just hating on the new push rules. Cause I think they suck. A lot.)
  15. I'm guessing single target nukes, Sonnia already has the AoE fire thing. She'll probably "buff" smoldering heart models by setting them on fire. Kinda like how the old Resource Management worked with the Gunsmiths The Hard Way.
  16. McTavish, he's using a flippin crocodile as a melee weapon. That alone makes him qualified as a master IMO. Give him a bunch of reptiles as minions and the crew's basically done.
  17. That's sort of how I've been looking at it. But instead of categorizing my own models I bring stuff that beats rocks, stuff that beats scissors, and stuff that beats papers. Basically I see my models as rock-killers etc. rather than rocks.
  18. Did they remove mercenary from Ronins in the final release? Seppuku can be really useful with Risky Ventures. Speak of the ninjas and there will be ninjas.
  19. So it only took a week for someone to figure out how to abuse Hans and potentially ruin the fun for everyone... Want to play melee Lilith? Too bad you can't have 3" melee range then. Want to play growth instead? Nope, can't have that either. Why is Raspy standing to far back? Oh you wanted to use Ice Mirror, sucks you don't have Broken Heart then. So Perdita has a (0) action that lets her ignore cover, not anymore. Guess what Somer, I just shot your entire family. I hope that Smoke and Shadows didn't affect your crewbuilding too much, cause it's not there anymore.
  20. I really like 10T in 2E, Misaki and Mei Feng have some major in your face type movement shenanigans and a lot of minions get on various things. I have played Misaki with Stalking Bisento, Misdirection and Recalled Training, a.k.a the you discard 10 cards and I have :+fate on everything build. But she might actually have the biggest selection of really good upgrades to chose from.

    He got forced back to the drawing table so he technically isn't in 2E yet. And the way he played changed a lot at several points in the beta.

  23. I'm adding Death Marshals, Nino, Jady J and her upgrades, and Torakage to the request pile.
  24. The Viks lived through turn 2 because they flipped RJ on defense and Misaki flipped BJ on attack. Who charges who first depends on terrain and Smoke Bombs. But I don't see how it would work out better for the Viks when charging compared to having their target jump into their melee range without actually attacking them.
