cymric
my netfoo is week but in 1901 (current malifaux time frame) love craft would have been the right age even look like the dreamer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Howard_Phillips_Lovecraft_-_circa_1900.jpg
tadaka
Bah you texans dont know anything. Lol
Werecat
Holy crap... I really hope lovecraft was the inspiration for The Dreamer. Freak, that would make SO much sense! I think the biggest disappointment would be that it was a happy coincidence, ha ha.
Hermitpermit
This is possible because Wyrd loves doing literary references in their stuff around the 1900 era. Believe it or not, Copellius was a reference to a book character who took eyes.

Believe it or not, Copellius was a reference to a book character who took eyes. And the story was written by a C. Hoffman, which is the reason Hoffman can take him. Coppelius and Insidious Madness always had a lovecraftian feel.

Q'iq'el
Well, that may well be the case, but isn't the Dreamer mini actually a very generic boy? I've never looked at one that close, but can anyone confirm the face really looks like the picture?
Calmdown
This is awesome. I especially like the Coppelius thing as I finally understand unexplained connection

Ciaran
I.... had not considered that. That's awesome! Hoffman-Coppelius, and Collodi were both known to me, this though....

nilus
Its possible but I don't think the Dreamers Nightmares have a Lovecraftian feel to them. To me Lovecraft is all about god like alien creatures that are so much greater then ourselves that they don't even notice us. Nyhtmare seems to involved in whats going on. Although I guess it could be a Avatar of Nyarlathotep
Smokey616
And oddly enough lovecraft married an american called Sonia Green. Sound like anyone we know? Anyone read dagon? Could be wierd tales, short stories I'm thinking of it's been a while since I read lovecraft, but in one of those books there is a child called lucius who is an orphan driven mad by his "dreams" but none of the nurses will believe him. As soon as I picked up malifaux I remembered this story and instantly linked the dreamer to lovecraft! Freaky. And if ya look on wiki at the young pic of lovecraft the resemblance is uncanny... Well hang on! I suppose he does look a bit like any 10 year old caught in the headlights

Calmdown
Wait.....who's Collodi? Carlo Collodi, he wrote Pinnochio. Look at Collodi's nose and the fact that he turns real boys into puppets
