elysium64 Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Just found a link to this site on LAF, Rusty Rails, they produce O scale resin model rail scenery, inc. a lot of workbenches, machinary, junk piles etc. ideal for the steam punk scientists, as well as a Trappers cabin that should be good for Zoraida or Gremlins, I have looked through all sections and have found things I could use in many of my game settings. http://rustyrail.com/CastingsOScale.htm Quote
Keltheos Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Oh. Oh my. Oh my goodness! Excellent find! Quote
St. Anger Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Definately worth bookmarking... Thank you... Quote
TheLemondropDan Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 There's a still. Crap. I think I need to make an order. Quote
Peterdita Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Yeah! GREAT find! great idea generators in there. Perfect reference stuff. thanks Quote
Shade Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Now that's a great find! And yeah - that still is awesome. Did you see the double-barrel shotgun? My favs are the junk piles. Gotta scrape up some cash...make a group order with the guys. ~Shade~ Quote
DeafNala Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 VERY COOL STUFF! Thanks MUCHO for sharing this find. :fing02: Quote
mechaace Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 That is very cool stuff, may have to order some at somepoint as it would not only be suitable for Malifaux but certain other pieces such as the wrecked train or junkpiles would be suitable for another game as well. Quote
Silmarilias Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Good find , some nice neat odds and ends in there and they make thunder boxes ha ha, i can just envision papa loco sneaking up on one and tossing a stick of jelly what a mess !! Quote
AoM Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Good find , some nice neat odds and ends in there and they make thunder boxes ha ha, i can just envision papa loco sneaking up on one and tossing a stick of jelly what a mess !! You make Loco sound so cunning and devious. The man smack people with lit sticks of dynamite. He hasn't even changed out of the tattered remains of his straight jacket. As much as I'm his #1 fan, I don't think he's thinking that far ahead. This terrain is awesome. Now I need to keep this in mind when it comes time to get the club to go in on building some new Malifaux terrain instead of all those boring "gothic ruins." Quote
mechaace Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 yeah I must admit it would be nice. It's nice to know I'm not the only one in the world that's sick of the only sci-fi scenery generally being available is Gothic Ruins. All the sci-fi scenery that isn't gothic ruins just seems to be small widgety things. Quote
Scorpio Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 It says something about me that I was excited to see they had miniature outhouses. Quote
Scorpio Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Back when I was playing the D&D minis game, I spent an evening working on a 'Bugbear Outhouse' tile, because the name alone cracked me up. Quote
elysium64 Posted July 26, 2009 Author Report Posted July 26, 2009 Another site I have found through LAF for all your steampunk workshop scenery: http://www.sierrawestscalemodels.com/oscale/ocastings.shtml Lots of great stuff inc assorted metal gears and cogs, shelfs, workbenches etc. Sorry for helping you spend all your money! TheBugKing Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Bookmarked. Thanks! That is a really great resource! Quote
Silmarilias Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Thanks for the link, another good resource to add to the list ! Quote
Grimwolf Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Alright, I'm a little slow so can anyone explain to me the difference between 0 scale and H0 Scale. Most of the stuff in the link would be freakin' AWESOME for a Malifaux table. Really really cool stuff... a bit pricey but cool none the less. Thanks, Grim Quote
Bexley Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) O scale is about 1:48, which is close to 28-32mm. (As wells as dollhouse quarter-scale.) HO is around 1:87, which is roughly 20mm. Sort of. Technically, HO and O are not scales, but gauges, which refer to width between rails. To confuse the issue further, there are different standards, so that British/European O gauge isn't quite the same scale as American O gauge or Japanese O gauge. However, the conversions I listed are reasonably close, and are generally what RR folk use when looking for models from non-RR lines to use in their layouts. Edited July 27, 2009 by Bexley Quote
Raf Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Thanks, these two sites are just fantastic. I will definitely use their scenery for my upcoming western/ cyberpunk/ Malifaux boards. Quote
mechaace Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 For those of us living in the UK as well (and for those of us who don't, if you wish extra shipping) Hovels do a nice line of stuff and they're scenery is normally pretty good quality. The link is below http://www.hovelsltd.co.uk/wildwest.html Quote
streetsamurai Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 really cool terrain, as any of you ever bought something from there. How's the scale fit with wyrd mini Quote
TheLemondropDan Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 They fit well. I picked up a few castings and I'm pretty happy with them. Lots to clean, but resin is always like that with some things. No bubbles to speak of, either. He also threw in a couple of extra small castings for free with my order. Small press 4 lyfe. Check out Zoraida and a silurid, waitin' by the outhouse: (ugh, the silurid came out all washed out -- he's tabletop quality, honest!) Quote
